Ranger’s Rest – Overnight Outback Stopover Welcome to Ranger’s Rest, a simple and peaceful overnight stopover near Carrieton in the southern Flinders Ranges. Perfect for travellers, campers, caravans and self-contained rigs looking for a safe place to pull up for the night, stretch their legs, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the outback. As the name suggests, Ranger’s Rest is designed as a convenient drive-through site where you can arrive, relax, and continue your journey refreshed the next day. What You’ll Find Nearby • Community toilet facilities and town water are located just a few hundred metres from the campsite. • The area’s only petrol station and corner store are nearby, stocking fuel and many everyday essentials for travellers. • A dump point is available at the local caravan park a short distance down the road (currently $5 per use). A Real Family Property Ranger’s Rest is part of our family’s outback property. You’ll likely spot our friendly resident chocolate Labrador, Honey, and hear our chickens going about their day in the area behind the campsite. We’re a busy neuro-affirming family building our dream home in the outback, so this may not be the place for those seeking complete silence. We ask that guests appreciate the sounds of family life, children’s laughter and play, and the everyday happenings that come with living in a small country town. Explore the Creek Just 30 metres from the site is a beautiful seasonal creek that winds through the landscape. It’s a wonderful place for a stroll, rock-hunting, photography, birdwatching, or simply taking in the unique scenery of the southern Flinders region. Every bend offers something different, from interesting stones and native plants to classic outback views.
