We had a lovely stay on Steve's land. The creek and little swimming hole is something really quite special. A real treat to have some quiet and space to ourselves over Easter.
We stayed in our camper trailer, and getting the camper level did involve a little bit of MacGuyvering with bricks and chocks, but it was worth it. Easy in and easy out with a 4WD.
The firepit and the bench, and the whole layout, is great. Steve left us with ample firewood for our stay, which was very appreciated. There's also a bin available, and Steve was welcoming and friendly and we felt secure that he'd offer us any help if we needed it.
This is exactly the kind of property Hipcamp is all about for us - somewhere private, on private land, without dozens of other campers nearby.

Lovely peaceful spot by the creek. Steve was very helpful setting me up with wheel chocks to level out the 4WD. Enjoyed the sounds of the creek and the birds.

We had a fantastic stay at Steve's hipcamp; the site was private and the creek and waterhole next to the site were a wonderful reprieve to the heat of the day. The camp fire spot was a great size and had a rotating floating grill that was great for cooking over the coals. Steve was also highly responsive and very friendly and helpful.

We loved Steve's secret spot. Very hot weekend but the creek and the swimming hole were perfect. Water so cold, I needed to float around rather than swim.
Very private , Steve was the perfect host, checked on us , also asked if we needed anything from.the supermarket.

Great spot. You get the space to yourself, with a little creek to cool down in, too. I had a 2wd and parked at the top of the hill just in case, but it wasn't an issue to take stuff the very short walk down and Steve even rocked up when I arrived to help take things on his quadbike - legend! Firepit is great and an abundance of firewood provided. Lots of trees around for good shade, too. Excellent communication before arriving. Cheers, Steve!

A distinct advantage of this camp site is that you have the whole site to yourself and the owner does not book other campers in while you are there, so you are the only camp. There is a good sized gently sloping grass area with a large permanent fire pit. Room for several tents and or several camper trailers. One flat tent area and several slightly sloping areas. The site is treed in on two sides, has an open sloping paddock on one side and is about 50 metres down from the property driveway. The site is immediately adjacent to a small shady creek with good access. This camping site is on a creek flat below the owners driveway about halfway between the road/property entrance and the owners house. It is generally secluded and private however, can be seen from the driveway above the site. You can only just see the owners house through the trees from the campsite. The owner is good at leaving you to yourself and giving you privacy, but is always available if required. The owner often supplies firewood, takes your rubbish and supplies water at the campsite. This site is good value for money. Access off the driveway and into the paddock is tight and not suitable for large vehicles. Access through the paddock to the campsite has a significant slope, but is readily trafficked by four-wheel drive towing a camper trailer and even by two-wheel drive in dry conditions (providing your not towing a significant weight). You could hear a bit of road noise from the front of the property.

We really enjoyed our time at the Jolly platypus, nice secluded spot, we used the camp grill every day, food was amazing, Steve is a Tru Blue, helped us and offered firewood, showed us the swimming hole- which was amazingly refreshing.
Best spot I’ve been in for no taps and no loo.
We will be coming back.
I checked the weather forecast but it still had light showers, our van couldn’t make it up the hill with wet grass, Steve gave us a tow, real nice about it.

Steve's land was beautiful. We loved that the creek was close to the campsite and it was such a great place to relax. The host's were so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Loved the property but wouldn’t recommend for a 2WD. I was there for 3 nights with perfect weather and tried to leave at 5am this morning but my 2WD (Hyundai Iload) couldn’t get up the steep hill (kept skidding on grass). Eventually I had to be towed out at 11am which was 6 hours later and stressful as my car skidded all the way up the hill whilst being towed and we only just made it to the top. The property owner was away at the time so one of his mates got me out. Met the owner Steve when I arrived and very nice bloke. I had actually booked the property again whilst I was there as it was a very nice stay with fire pit and creek but now i have contacted Hipcamp to try and get a full refund.

Awesome and quiet location on an amazing creek bed. Steve was a perfect host and made sure I had a absolute ton of FREE dry fire wood on arrival, you don't ever see that these days. Came down to make sure I was all good and settled in. Cheers Steve take care mate 🤙🤙

If your looking for a private site, beside a crystal clear creek that you don't have to share, this is the place. I think Steve is undercharging for the privilege of having a site wholly to yourself but so close to the sunshine coast hustle and bustle. I enjoyed myself so much that we didn't have to leave to spend the day sight seeing around the area. It was so peaceful sitting beside the creek close enough to camp to get whatever you wanted with no trek involved. The sound of bird life and tinkling of the creek was extremely relaxing.
I have been hesitant to review this site as I would like to keep it to myself but that's not fair to Steve. He has a very special place.
The downsides were internet not good [but is that a downside or a positive point] and site is on a bit of a hill. There are level spots for your tent, shower and kitchen and a built in table which was great.
Thank you Steve for opening your property to the public, it is the most relaxing site I've stayed in.

Beautiful little camping spot, Steve to owner is a legend who's very helpful and already had a fire going for us when we turned up.
Access is steep and no good for larger vehicles especially if wet.
