Private and secluded 15 acre property on the edge of forest lined clear running creek. Only 8km to town of Gympie and 50 mins to Rainbow Beach. Many sights and attractions within short driving distance. Camp is setup on the edge of the forest canopy that follows the quite running creek that’s abundant with bird life and a beautiful place to soak your feet or have a dip in the natural plunge pool or just relax and listen to natures orchestra. It’s a slight downhill drive from the driveway to campsite so if towing a camp trailer a 4WD is recommended. It’s about a 3 minute walk to the house so your privacy is assured but not far to go should you need any assistance. Our campsite comes with fireplace and bench seating and reasonable amount of firewood supplied for the length of your stay.Pitch your tent or set up your camp trailer on the edge of the forest that lines 3 mile creek , it’s a slight downhill drive from the driveway to campsite so if towing a camp trailer a 4WD is recommended. You also have the option of power to your campsite for an additional $5 per night. We really enjoyed our time at the Jolly platypus, nice secluded spot, we used the camp grill every day, food was amazing, Steve is a Tru Blue, helped us and offered firewood, showed us the swimming hole- which was amazingly refreshing. Best spot I’ve been in for no taps and no loo. We will be coming back. I checked the weather forecast but it still had light showers, our van couldn’t make it up the hill with wet grass, Steve gave us a tow, real nice about it.

Went for 1 night & stayed for 2. We had a great time, loved the creek to cool off. Great space for the doggos. Steve was a great host, with plenty of fire wood for our stay.

Steve's land was beautiful. We loved that the creek was close to the campsite and it was such a great place to relax. The host's were so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Had to be towed out in my 2WD

Loved the property but wouldn’t recommend for a 2WD. I was there for 3 nights with perfect weather and tried to leave at 5am this morning but my 2WD (Hyundai Iload) couldn’t get up the steep hill (kept skidding on grass). Eventually I had to be towed out at 11am which was 6 hours later and stressful as my car skidded all the way up the hill whilst being towed and we only just made it to the top. The property owner was away at the time so one of his mates got me out. Met the owner Steve when I arrived and very nice bloke. I had actually booked the property again whilst I was there as it was a very nice stay with fire pit and creek but now i have contacted Hipcamp to try and get a full refund.
