Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our mini rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or soak in the creek with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere. Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. Sites are allocated on weekends based on numbers, if you are in caravans or tents and if you are camping with children. We have 12 large grassy sites nestled amongst trees located at the higher part of our property. Each site is large and can allow group bookings. Loads of space for tents, camper trailers, caravans or motorhomes. The camping sites are close together however there is loads of areas to set up along the creek during the day. Pets permitted but must be restrained.Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose. We have 22 acres of natural bushland in the Conondale Valley, between Maleny and Kenilworth; in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Less than an hour to Caloundra and Sunshine Coast beaches. Sites allocated on weekend, public and school holidays. We have endangered wildlife on the property including frogs in the creek. We are very passionate about protecting the habitat, so our property only suits eco-friendly campers who follow leave no trace principles. Sites are allocated by owner based on your group numbers, children, dogs and camp set up. We have 12 camp sites safely on higher ground. Only a couple of sites now back onto the creek. All sites are within a very short walk to the creek. You are welcome to set up on the creekside during the day however camping is only permitted in the designated areas as approved by council. Parts of our property may experience sudden flash flooding as we are in a low area and boardered by two creeks. Upon entering our property, you and your booking companions agree to adhere to all emergency protocols and instructions from our team. If instructed to relocate to higher ground, immediate compliance is essential for the safety of your family and our staff. We have a designated evacuation zone: the Top Paddock Emergency Area, situated by the silver shed at the check-in spot Frequently Asked Questions - Firewood (hardwood) $25 per bag - Mobile Service is not available on the property however Wifi can be purchased from us for $10 per person per stay - Plenty of spots, we only take limited bookings. All within 50-500m to creek entrances (depending on the direction you take) - Campfires permitted - make your own permitted. - Campers must be self-sufficient. We would prefer it if you have your own toilet and shower. This is not a dig a hole and bury facility. We have a back up toilet for you just in case.

I will start by saying Thea was very lovely and made us feel safe and welcome. However, the location is not quite what we expected. It is a shame that council regulations prevent camping near the creek, because our experience would have been very different had this been possible. The photos are very misleading about the new position of campsites - they are laid out right next to each other (just like a standard campground) and are next to the main entry road - kind of in the front yard of the main house. I wish I had taken notice of previous reviews that mention this. There is no privacy, and people are walking right next to your campsite all the time. The creek itself is beautiful and it's a short walk to get to it. The toilets were very clean and also a short walk. Access to potable water was great. Unfortunately was not the kind of campsite we prefer, and we were lucky there were only a couple of other campers on the weekend we stayed.

Love this spot, so tranquil. Hosts that go out of their way to make your stay welcoming, from the social camp fire with delicious damper to giving us local knowledge to make the trip even more meaningful. Would love to visit again.

We loved our stay at 'A place to call home'. Thea was so welcoming and hospitable. She's got the best spot for big groups and it's truly picturesque. The creek is right there. Not deep (in that spot) but it was all we needed... and the days were hot. We had a memorable stay and we most certainly will be back!!

Good Spot, Great Hosts

We really enjoyed our time, we had an easy time making our way, the driving instructions where clear and we had no issues getting there. We where at site 6 which wasn't perfectly level but not a big slope, perfect for our small camper trailer, though lots of shade so bring long extentions if you need to bring in some solar. We wish that the camping down near the creek was still available but absolutely out of the control of anyone besides council! The creek was beautiful and cool, we saw plenty of wildlife around including a Goana and plenty of roos and bird life around. We really enjoyed being invited to have some damper with the hosts and other campers, makes a great atmosphere!

Great first time camper experience

I thoroughly enjoyed my first camping trip with my husband and our dog. The facilities were clean and tidy and the host, Thea, was incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. The property has plenty of space to explore and the creek is stunning with crystal clear water. The surrounding area is peaceful with lots of wildlife.

Beautiful creek even when it hasn't rained for a long time. Pictures didn't meet our expectations due to new council regulations. Had neighbours show up after we were set up who completely blocked the path to the creek we were using with their ensuite and had to walk right through their camp to gain access. Host was lovely and welcoming.

A beautiful, peaceful hideaway with a crystal-clear rainforest creek right at your doorstep! The birdlife was incredible, creating a truly immersive nature experience. Our kids had a blast exploring the creek and running through the open fields, and we loved that our fur baby could be part of the adventure too. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and always happy to help. This spot has quickly become one of our all-time favourites — we’ll definitely be back!

This was the most beautiful Hipcamp we’ve been to so far. Gorgeous running creek with very well maintained fields and rain forest. We saw echidnas, kangaroos and bandicoots at our site and lots of bird life. There are lots of walks you can do around the property including wading the creek to where it turns into the Mary River. It’s a half hour drive to both Maleny and Kenilworth and an hour to Caloundra or Mooloolaba. The host Thea is very welcoming and went out of her way to ensure we had the private spot we requested. There are lots of options for single campers or groups. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful creek, camped by the road

Thea was absolutely lovely. And the creek was stunning and a beautiful spot to spend a few hours digging for gold and throwing rocks. Unfortunately our camp was against the road, so quite dusty with cars going past. Flushing toilets and the mini playground were a bonus but felt like it was overpriced for what was provided and the location of the camp.

Thea was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The camping grounds next to the water were beautiful, but only a small number of people could actually camp there. Most people, including us, were placed up the top of the hill right next to the road, where it was dusty and crowded—not green and lush like the pictures suggested. It felt more like camping in a packed group site right beside your neighbour. It also seemed inconsistent, as some people were allowed to camp near the creek while others weren’t, even though Thea mentioned new council regulations meant no one could camp down there. Overall, the current setup is not what is advertised- camping right next to people, not on the green lush grass and not right next to the creek. For the price, it really didn’t feel worth it. I probably wouldn’t go back as it is, but if camping near the creek was genuinely an option for everyone, it would actually be a really lovely spot though I still feel as though it’s over priced for what you get.

I have struggled with writing a review for this place ... hence why its taken me so long. I will start with the positives; - beautiful -isolated -back to nature -peaceful ... and dont get me wrong, I am glad I visited here, but after travelling for almost a month up the east coast of Australia these are the negatives; -waaaay over priced - no facilities , for the price you are paying you expect water and a toilet you can use ( there was one i saw on the property but it looked like it had branches all over it and mould and i wijld not have thought it safe to enter.... it looked abandoned with spider webs everywhere -no water -no dump point -no electricity -no wifi ---- which is great ... but for the price of over $100 a night at a hipcamp it is way over priced compared to the majority of the rest of the east coast, so i think price should be lowered due to this not being a cost to the owners. In comparison I got a glamping tent looking out to the reef at 1770 , with a pool and all facilities ( BBQ, toilet, shower, yoga and meditation for free) for less than this unpowered site. I am glad I went as it was stunning.. but would I spend that amount again ? ... not after seeing the cost and what you get in nature elsewhere.

Beautiful spot to camp in amongst the Hills with a meandering creek/river running through the property, a place to cool off with a swim or to enjoy the bird life, frogs, turtles and even a platypus. Thea and family welcome you as you arrive and are friendly

Tropical Rainforest Getaway

This was absolutely a hidden gem of a place, perfect for us as a couple to relax, unwind, and sleep under the stars and rainforest canopy with the sounds of birds talking to each other, the creek trickling by, and even a kangaroo visiting during the night just a meter away from our swag! We swagged up at 'Three Ways', which is where the creeks meet up, and it was the perfect amount of room for the two of us, a few camp chairs, a table, and our 4WD parked nearby for cooking. There was a little camp fire pit there as well which we used to roast marshmellows! It was almost completely secluded, no one walked by or could see us through the trees, unless specifically walking nearby to look up into the rainforest. Other than that, we were left completely to ourselves. The rest of the property is absolutely beautiful, everything looks like a postcard or something out of 'Tarzan'. I would highly recommend to any couples, friends, families looking to book a few nights away to relax amongst nature. Thea the host was really lovely as well, and answered all the questions we had. We loved our weekend away!

Thea is so welcoming and communicates so clearly with directions and accessibility. It was such a pleasure to be surrounded by the joyful sounds of frogs and birds by such a delightful creek. Our space was private and spacious for our group gathering. Thank you Thea, we will be back

This was our first time staying here and it was a lovely weekend. The grassy area by the creek is beautiful and spacious for games and kids activities. We spent hours exploring the creek can’t wait to go back in summer when we can swim in the different swimming holes. Camp fires + dog friendly + running water + lots of space to roam and explore + small number of sites = the ideal camping location for us! We really appreciated Thea’s friendly presence around the place. We were assured we could call on her if needed.
