Bill and Nancy were very quick to respond, accommodating and helpful! He even even offered to loan me a sleeping bag when the weather was colder than I'd planned for! I ended up caught in traffic and was not able to stay there, but I have their place on my list for cross-country drives!

WOW. Yep, that's a winner.

We parked our short bus at the hill top and had the most RESTFUL stay with Bill and Nancy. No one else had booked the weekdays we stayed and it was such a treat to enjoy the sounds of turkeys, birds, and gentle rain all to ourselves. Having the flushable toilet on site was wonderful (rare to find). The hilltop felt private as could be. We enjoyed fires for 2 nights with the bundle provided, and there was still a bit left. Pokeberries abundant for painters! Bill and Nancy are kind, considerate, and have a lovely kept home and property. We were beside ourself with the peace we felt during our stay and will definitely try to stop back on our way home. There's a rifle range in the distance but for a person who struggles with PTSD, the sounds were few and far between, and distant. For as many stays as I've come across this, it was entirely manageable 🩷 appreciation to bill for the heads up when we arrived/met.

Thus is my favorite hipcamp mainly because of no leash on you dog. Back story we got a dog we love the dog we bought a camper so we can take her when we travel. We live near Pittsburgh and there are 3 hipcamps that have no leash Bill and Nancy's, one near Harrisburg one somewhere in middle Ohio.

Quite & beautiful setting, w an outhouse flush toilet and a rustic shower. We all shared stories of past adventures and we enjoyed Bill's sense of humor. We hope to visit again soon, especially since down the road on Saturdays there's fresh yummy donuts!! Can't pass either up!

Well, the secrets out…Bill and Nancy have the perfect property for those who want a beautiful but quiet camping experience. They were very busy the first couple of nights we were there, but it was serene for the remainder of our getaway. Thank you both for welcoming us and sharing your wonderful property with us. I think this will be our last trip of the season and it was a great one. Thank you both sooo much 😊

Wooded Hideaway-Group + Family Site

We really enjoyed camping here. The site was far enough away to be private and quiet, but close enough to the (excellent) outhouse to be convenient. It was easy to follow the directions, and Bill had the firewood we pre-ordered already there when we arrived. Outstanding experience!

We had such a wonderful experience at Bill S. and Nancy’s property! The camping area is peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect spot to relax. Having a toilet with a sink and a solar shower available was such a great bonus—everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. We loved it so much that we stayed once on our way to our destination and again on our way back! Truly a hidden gem, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Great spot. Bill was extremely warm and welcoming. Everything was as described and Bill made sure we were taken care of and available when we had a few questions. The spot was beautiful. Saw some amazing stars. Very comfortable and beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Great Stay, Kind hosts

My sister and I booked the camp the day of our visit and Bill was very accommodating. He kindly moved us to a site with a little more shade and it was perfect! Our camp spot had a fire pit and picnic table and firewood available to purchase. It was nice to have a bathroom and sink available to use as well. The property is close to Volant (about15-20 min) which had some cute shops and cafes. The drive to Volant took you through some farming areas that had produce and flowers for sale which was a bonus! What a relaxing trip, definitely coming back!

A lovely little hideaway

I wanted a weekend of peace away from the city and that is exactly what I found at Bill & Nancy's place. The campsites are perfectly manicured and well-spaced from one another. I was on site 7 and hardly saw another soul all weekend. The grounds are beautiful with lots of walking opportunities. The bathroom and camp shower/sink were well thought out, well-stocked, and just a stone's throw away from camp. I'd absolutely stay here again.

We actually didn't stay in #6, Bill switched us to a spot at the bottom of some hills. It was perfect for us, as it was wide open for our dogs to be off leash and playing fetch up the hill really tired them out! The property is well maintained, you can tell that Bill and Nancy take great pride in their land, they were excellent hosts, they even entertained my husband for a bit, lol. The area is surrounded by trees, which makes it peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend, I know we will be back. I do want to note that the location doesn't have much for cell service or internet, we we not able to use our Hotspot while there, which wasn't an issue for us.

Breathtaking space, immaculately maintained. Bill graciously met us at the entrance so we could follow him to the site. Our dogs absolutely loved being leash-free and having a huge lawn to play in. We had run into a stray kitten in the road and Bill graciously fed him and found it a safe place for the night (I'm allergic) and brought him back to us so we could reunite him with his owner! Above and beyond!

Nice quiet, secluded location - field surrounded by woods. Bill welcomed us and settled us into our spot. Another few spots on the property as well, but all were separate from each other. Hookup easy. Convenient bathroom. Would stay again when in the area.

Absolutely beautiful property. It is extremely quiet as it’s a ways back off the road. Bill and Nancy are both picture perfect hosts. Our site was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be staying here again.
