Knuckey Lagoon Bush Camp provides secure bush camping sites close to Darwin, Palmerston, Nightcliff, and the airport. Each site is positioned well away from the others, giving you your own private patch to enjoy. Your campsite overlooks a man-made lagoon filled with bird life, particularly during the dry season. Other wildlife includes freshwater crocodiles and turtles. Echidnas have also been spotted, although your chances of seeing one are very low, as they are extremely elusive. Please note that we are very close to the airport, so you can enjoy some plane spotting from your tent. During military exercises, however, jet noise can be extremely loud. Because we have only just opened Google/ Apple maps havent pinpointed the address yes. There is a number on the gate and a photo of the gate in the gallery. The nearest land is a new shiny silver water tank nearly opposite our gate. The mosquito situation is currently quite manageable, but it can vary from mildly annoying to very bad. You must have mosquito-proof camping gear. You are camping in the bush, so it is important to note that we offer no facilities other than a campsite and a rubbish bin located at the front gate. There are no toilets, showers, power, or water available. You must bring a chemical or composting toilet. If you do not have one, we will unfortunately have to turn you away. We are brand new and currently have only two active site. We are working on a couple of additional sites that we hope to open soon.

Pelican Point Long Stay

Pelican point is on a peninsular of land that overlooks water to the left and the right. This is the best of the camp sites for bird watching. At night shine your torch over the lagoon and see how many crocodiles you can spot

Pelican Point Long Stay
We loved the Pelican Point campsite at Knuckey Lagoon, the birdlife was wonderful to watch. We also loved the security, as we entered via a locked gate and the privacy was wonderful. The location also worked well for us. Will definitely stay again.

Foggy Hollow
Loved camping on the lagoon at Foggy Hollow, the bird life is wonderful with Jabiru’s, Kingfisher’s and many more varieties living by the water, we also loved the privacy whilst being so close to everything. I am still not sure which was noisier, the birds or the planes., either way we enjoyed our stay.

Foggy Hollow
I think this could be a great camp in a fabulous location but right now I wouldn’t come back. The camp area is very uneven and it’s been cleared but it’s not cleaned up. With a 20ft van it’s not easy to turn around. It could be great but it just needs to be finished properly. Good view over the lagoon but also straight under the flight path.
