Yarralen is a peaceful 40-acre bush retreat on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, sitting under Mt Yarrahapinni and surrounded by National Parks. We’re halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and close to pristine beaches including Grassy Head, Scotts Head and the Macleay River. Pet fees apply: $10 for campsites, $15 for lodgings (vans and units). We offer a magical bush escape with modern facilities and a range of accommodation: Campgrounds * Eclectic Bush Haven Campground: Family-friendly camping (kids under 12 camp free) with access to the fully equipped camp kitchen, toilets, showers and electricity * Yarralen Retreat Campground: Secluded area for fully self-contained off-road campers. These secluded campsites are located in a quiet paddock at the back of the property and are suited to fully self-contained campers. There is no access to the camp kitchen, and you’ll need to bring your own drinking water. A basic long-drop toilet, gas hot shower, and stainless steel sink with non-drinking water are available, but all campers must bring their own cooking equipment. The site is sloped at the top with flat areas at the bottom, and access is via grass only — 4WD is required, especially during or after rain. Please be mindful of children, as there is a hidden body of water in the bush behind the campground. Enjoy a cosy evening by the campfire (BYO firewood). We’re only a short drive from gorgeous beaches — Grassy Head is closest, with Scott’s Head and South West Rocks offering breathtaking coastal views.

Beautiful property, peaceful vibe, clean amenities and incredible extras like the sauna, magnesium pool and yoga deck. Loved the nature and felt so relaxed after staying here. Highly recommend Yarralen Retreat.

Amazing overall place, from the welcome arrival, to the campsite, the fire and wood, the great kitchen and toilet amenities.. but mainly the lovely natural setting. We also loved being away from the typical middle of a 'holiday park'.. will go back.

Very secure site as it had a gated entrance with a code needed to get in. Lovely setting too surrounded by trees and nature The outdoor kitchen was great with lots of crockery and cutlery available However the showers were mixed with nothing but a curtain between you and the next stranger! There was nowhere private to get changed after the shower just a small communal space with only a saloon door separating it from anyone entering the bathroom.

Overall not a bad site, just pricy for an unpowered site. Washroom was men and women combined with very little privacy, but it wasn’t busy so I had no issues. Host was welcoming and gave easy to find directions

Yarralen retreat was so beautiful and had great facilities. I found the camp area really spacious so it was a really peaceful stay. We were even treated to a property tour on the buggy which the kids loved. I was surprised that use of the salt pool was for a charge for campers and this put us off having a dip but luckily the nearby beaches were beautiful and quick to get to.

We had a wonderful experience at your property with our group of 28. We were particularly impressed by Julie and her husband's helpfulness and the ease of communication. The cleanliness, especially of the toilets, was excellent, and the swimming pool was a highlight. We definitely plan to return every Easter and highly recommend your place.

Lovely peaceful campground. Feels secluded yet still close to beaches and shops if you want to venture out. The campground had well maintained grass to camp on and a well stocked camp kitchen. Staying at probably one of their most busy periods of the year, Easter, the only downside was the occasional queue for the toilet and it was difficult to get changed in the showers. In saying this, the showers were always hot and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. Having a campfire was great and the stars here were stunning. Would definitely return.

Staying at Yarralen was an absolute delight. The camp kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with power, a fridge, kettle, toaster, plates and cups, a BBQ and even a rice cooker! The property is so beautiful, and the perfect mix of natural beauty and artistic whimsy. The peacocks were an immediate favourite. Julie was a wonderful host, making sure we had everything we needed. We felt so safe and at home, it was hard to leave! 10/10, definitely stay at Yarralen ❤️

A beautiful property in complete serenity. The camp kitchen was amazing and everything was really clean. The bathroom was communal for men and women, which could be triggering for some. But it was a really beautiful place and I would definitely go back!

I am very green at camping. From the get go Julie just made it feel like the right choice .what a amazing property she shares with cliff and some gorgeous feathered friends .the camp kitchen is great and the amenities super unique! Did some water aerobics in magnesium pool .hello where can you get that ! Loved loved loved it !

Tent camping at Yarralen Retreat was such a great experience! We had everything we needed—hot showers, charging points, and a fully furnished kitchen with a fridge and microwave. The yoga area was peaceful, and there was a beautiful walking trail. It’s definitely a spot that’s perfect for families!
