We stayed at Kingfisher camp for a few days. The site itself is raised above the river by a few metres, so you look down onto it which is lovely for watching the wildlife. The cows are very inquisitive and quickly demolished our tall, portable dog fencing to investigate our camp which wasn't ideal, but it's part of camping in a paddock. We didn't use their amenities but did take a sticky beak and they are well designed and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.

Fantastic campsite at Possum Hollow right on the river bank with nice shady trees and lush green grass. The river was crystal clear and flowing well, great for an afternoon swim. Hot showers and flush loos are near campsites and clean.
Sarah and the team at Wunglebung are absolutely brilliant hosts! Nothing seems to be too difficult and they do in fact go out of their way to meet and greet and make sure you have an enjoyable stay. Even delivered a bag of firewood to our campsite.
These guys really do look after you, we were in small hiking tents with a storm expected late afternoon. We were offered shelter in their cabin till the storm passed if needed.
This was my first visit, but now plan to make this a regular camp spot and take my family and friends.
Would highly recommend you give it a go!

Kingfisher Camp
Loved our camp at Kingfisher, all 5 of us had a fantastic time, gr8 facilities, beautiful drive in , swam & kayaked on the river . Our 2nd visit here , Thanks Sarah James & the kids for a memorable few days , cheers Wazza Sue Tony

We camped by the river at the Casurina site and were absolutely blown away by the serenity. The river was a lovely temperature and a few dips were taken, enjoying the great weather. Driving up to Sunset Hill was purely breathtaking. Cow's were also very friendly with a couple taking a liking to our firepit and the left over ash. Definitely will be back to enjoy the pure magic of the great stay we had.

Kingfisher Camp
Spent 2 weeks at Wunglebung, week at Kingfisher and 9 days at Possum Hollow. Both are great sites!! The drive into Wunglebung took approximately 40 minutes down a winding gravel road. Absolutely stunning scenery!!
Saw Platypus in the river at Kingfisher. The river is a nice place to cool off during the heat of the day. Fantastic area for having your dog off leash, as long as they do t chase the cows. All the cows made us feel welcome, and the host Sarah and James were really helpful and accommodating. Excellent off grid camping, with the benefit of hot shower and toilets. Nice place to relax and unwind and unplug from life. Will definitely be going back at a later date. Big thankyou to Sarah and James 😊

Second time here, different spot (kookaburra)
I’ll keep coming back here as long as it’s open. Nicely tucked away from crowds, beautiful creek/river that’s got an outstanding water temp.
Only point to note is that if your staying at Kookaburra (like the host has written) you will need your own shade. There is 0 shade available at the site.

Very long trip in especially with a van on, bindys everywhere on our site. Flies were relentless, by day 3 I’d had enough of them, could have been the time of the year for both and You could see the bindys had been sprayed though. Found some really good deep holes down from kookaburra, just a little walk. Toilet and showers were great and there is an emergency phone on site for Saftey and Good firewood available to purchase.
Probably a little over priced compared to what we have stayed at but it is what you make of it.

Beautiful, peacfull and private camp site, highly recommended, loved the scenery on the way in, quite hilly and steep with a 22ft van on the back but worth the end result. We didn't get to see any platypus but loved our long weekend stay.

Kingfisher Camp
2nd time at Wunglebung this time with five famalies... heaps of space and lots of river front to share. Quiet and beautiful. The 6 boys disappeared down the rapids as soon as we got there.

Definitely one of the best sites I have ever been to, completely off grid but still comfortable with clean toilets and hot showers.

Possum Hollow Camp
Possum Hollow was an extremely peaceful camp with lots of space and easy access. The amenities block was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and super helpful. Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back!

Quiet, spacious, beautiful riverside camp. We slept to the creek running and found our stay totally relaxing whilst we explored the dirt roads surrounding it on our mountain bikes! We will return to this wonderful spot.

Wunglebung is such a beautiful property! We loved camping right on the creek with the mountains in the background. Toilets and hot showers available. A magical spot up the top of the mountain called “sunset hill” with spectacular views. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

Beautiful country, very peaceful, great hosts! Huge camp sites right in the river and not a bad view in any direction.
The Instructions from Sarah were very simple/helpful and amenities were great.. running water toilets and hot shower!
Sunset Hill is a gorgeous way to spend an afternoon.
We had a kid free weekend and only took the dog but we’ll be back with the kids when the weather warms up.

Such a great spot! We brought bikes and kayaks for the kids and they had endless entertainment. Loved the campfires, the peaceful countryside, and all the space. Friendly cows made us laugh and the amenities are excellent. The place is really well cared for and the owners make everything easy. Our second trip here and the kids have already made us promise to keep coming back!

1500 word limit. Not enough. This place is a treasure and is a go to for us whether it is with family, friends or solo. We had overcast weather getting in, blue skies for the week and a rainy night before departure.
We came in and out via Tenterfield with vans and driving to conditions didn’t have an issue.
Winter camping at its best, but can’t wait to do it again in milder whether.

Beautiful flat grassy campsite at Kingfisher with gorgeous views over the river. Cows are friendly and spotted platypus. So peaceful and the views from sunset hill are amazing. We will be back!

This has to be the best Hip Camp in Australia, yes I am claiming it. It also has to be the least known about. I have been here twice and both times I was the only one there. It would not matter if it was booked out either as all sites are well away from the next one. The beautiful Rocky River flows in front of each site and there are platypus everywhere to be seen, which is just as good as watching the campfire. I was in two minds about leaving a review as I would love keep this place all to myself but it deserves to be experienced by others as well. The hosts are amazing and provide a clean and tidy amenities block that has hot showers and flushing toilets. Not only would I highly recommend you stay here but I will be back again and again.
