The drive into dispersed camping was a bit rough for our 23' camper van. We had seen in one of the emails as we neared the area that 4-wheel drive might be required in certain conditions, so we messaged about it and were told it was fine and that they had camper vans in all the time. So we proceeded to the site, following the host over a rutted road. We picked a site that had a sort-of fire pit made from a cut-off barrel. The listing had said firewood would be provided and we were looking forward to sitting around a campfire that night. When we asked about firewood the man didn't seem to know what we were talking about. He said we were welcome to gather some ourselves, so we found enough small limbs and sticks in the woods to get a little fire going. Soon after, it started to rain, so we spent the rest of the evening in the camper. Next morning, it was still wet. We were afraid of getting stuck on the road if it rained more, so we left, even though we had booked two nights. We couldn't risk getting the rented camper stuck, so we forfeited a night that we had paid for. No amenities. No firewood, nothing welcoming. Just wherever you could park in an open space under a few trees. Not worth the price. Would not return.

Loved it! Quiet spot in a beautiful setting. Felt like we had the place to ourselves and Scott was super helpful. Great walks too including down to a creek and some caves

Good spot, 5-10 mins away from a 24/7 servo with showers and toilets if needed always makes things a bit easier.

We absolutely loved our stay. Scott was very welcoming and friendly. We picked the open spot due to solar though there was very private areas on the property. Scott comes out and escorts you into the camp grounds which makes life so much easier.

Overall nice experience, but absolutely overpriced for what it was - a cute spot in nature without toilets and road noise. Scott was very friendly.

Such a nice peaceful and relaxing camp site although there were campers around us it still felt private and quiet we couldnt hear anyone around us it was a great spot to relax will definitely be back

Great spot really nice location and great fire spots
Was given wood and an axe to cut it
Very secluded
A bit of road noice minor point
And some large flys that kept biting our poor dog
Also road in a few x 3 large bumps but manageable
Had a great stay
Slightly pricey at $120 almost 2/3 times other places we stayed

We stayed at Woodenhead for one night over the Australia Day weekend. Scott was very friendly and met us upon arrival, and showed us to our campsite, which was helpful. The campsite has lots of shade and trees, so it felt very private despite there being half a dozen other campers on the property. There is a rainwater tank on site that is available which we used for washing up etc. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would camp here again.

We had a great stay over New Year’s! The campground is very well maintained and has just a few sites, which made it feel private and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. The location is perfect, just a short drive to beautiful beaches. Scott was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back!*

Woodenhead is a fantastic place to stay. The location is great and the host was friendly, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which made the whole experience seamless.
While there was some traffic noise, it honestly didn’t take away from the stay we still had a really comfortable night’s sleep and felt well rested.
Overall, a great spot that we’d happily stay at again.

We had a great time staying at Woodenhead Experiences. We were kindly greeted and got to meet and feed the ponys. There were Kangaroos and Wombats on the property as well. We would recommend staying there☺️

It was peaceful! The campers were all spaced out well! Scott and his wife, great hosts. We could make a fire which was a big bonus for this time of year for us! Grounds can be uneven, but there are even areas. There is grassed areas as well.

Beautiful campsite in a great location. There are lots of sites to choose from, and it’s really quiet while still being close to some lovely beaches. Scott was friendly and helpful, and the directions were clear and easy to follow. We really enjoyed our stay.

Scott, Sabrina and Charlie were excellent hosts. I can't recommend this place enough especially if you have kids who are curious about horses and nature. Excellent launch pad for day trip south coast adventures and the campsites are very well spaced out.

Beautiful area for camping - even with lots of people around, there was heaps of privacy and options for all styles of camping. Also amazing that it was so close to so many beaches. We had a fantastic weekend, and would 100% come back!

We had such a great spring break weekend! Scott and his family were nice and even let the kids feed the horses — they loved it! 🐴 We also explored the creek nearby, which wasn’t hard to find and made the trip feel more adventurous. The place had huge open spaces, perfect for pitching tents and letting the kids run around. Just one thing to note — you have to take your trash with you since there’s no big bin there. Other than that, it was such a fun and relaxing experience.
