If your heart beats to the vibrant drum of the Southern Highlands but you want the space and freedom of camping on a great river, then Wings of the Carribee is for you. Two campsites share 20 Acres of cottonwood trees on the Wingecarribee river. They are 250m apart and both on the riverfront giving you the seclusion you need while allowing you access to all that the Highlands have to offer. Bring your fishing rod and yabbie net, sit at the large picnic table, rent a kayak and go for a paddle, come say hello to the miniature Hereford cattle and enjoy the half drum fire pit while watching the cows grazing across the river. If you are bringing dog(s) then they must be on a lead or consider Yabbie which is enclosed. Of course you will be tempted to explore the area. Wings sits directly between Bowral and Moss Vale (both are less than 5km away) and is 14 km from historic Berrima so you can leave the camper and head into town to enjoy the old world charm of the area. The Southern Highlands is ideal if you’re wanting to escape Sydney (100km) or Canberra (160km) without lengthy travel. Discover all that the area has to offer including a host of idyllic country towns, fascinating shops and regular country events. With it’s abundant wineries, award-winning restaurants, culinary delights, and natural splendor, it’s the place to unplug, find yourself and indulge in some of life’s finest pleasures. If the birds and the bees are your thing then you are also in for a rare treat. We have eastern greys, rabbits, the odd fox and a host of birdlife (eyes open for the resident wedgetail pair, pelicans, black swans etc.), but whatever you seek from your break, we look forward to hosting you. Note that you have to bring your own toilet facility. Please confirm when you book that you are self sufficient in this regard.

Carribee is a large campsite directly on the Wingcarribee river. You will be camping among the trees with flat sections for your RV or tent which then slope gently down to the large picnic table, firepit, 2 person swing and the river. Fall asleep to the sound of the frogs and wake up rested to the abundant birdlife ready for a walk around the 20 acres of land that is full of interesting flowers, trees and interconnected waterways and bridges. While you are here, hire one of the kayaks (the river is amazing for kayaking), throw a line in the water for the perch, carp and trout or bring a yabbie net to see if you can get one of the illusive yabbies. If its the allure of the Highlands you seek, leave the tent or trailer and spend the day exploring all that the area has to offer. Feel free to bring your electric chainsaw to help yourself to the abundant wood lying around and build a campfire in the firepit. Dogs are very welcome but because we have cattle and our neighbors have cattle and horses, they would need to be on leads. (The other campsite Yabbie is is 250m away ensuring your privacy). Note: You must have your own toilet facilities. Please confirm when you book that you are self sufficient in this regard so I can process your booking quicker.

Yabbie corner is a good sized (20m x 40m) campsite directly on the Wingcarribee river. You will be camping right on the riverbank among the trees with a flat section for your RV or tent which then slopes gently down to the riverbank. There is a large picnic table and firepit (feel free to bring your electric chainsaw to help yourself to the wood lying around). Note that this site used to have a fence around it but that has been taken down. Fall asleep to the sound of the frogs and wake up rested to the abundant birdlife ready for a walk around the 20 acres of land that is full of interesting flowers, trees and interconnected waterways and bridges. While you are here, hire one of the kayaks (the river is amazing for kayaking), throw a line in the water for the perch, carp and trout or bring a yabbie net to see if you can get one of the illusive yabbies. This is an awesome property. We were a group of 6 and easily had enough room for our campers. There is lots of space and the wonderful views. Vallance is a great host who regularly checked in with us ensure that we were having a good time. I can highly recommend visiting this beautiful property.

This was truly a stunning stay. The views accross the water and the sounds of so many different bird life. the area was fenced off so I felt totally safe letting the pups run freely. Vallance was such an accomodating host who even on a Friday afternoon came down to help me out of a pickle I had gotten mysleft into. Such a gentleman. and if your lucky enough you might even get lucky with some free range eggs. A beautiful spot. I will re visit one day soon.

Wonderful experience and many thanks to Vallance and his lovely wife Nikki. Made us feel very welcome and enjoyed a lovely chat around the fire pit on the river. Wonderful property with two sites, a distance apart. 5 friendly cow visited us every morning. Dog friendly, easy access for 2 wheel motor home and well maintained and mowed sites. Will definitely return as Bowral as it is only a short drive away with many heritage homes and shops including the Don Bradman oval and museum. Worth a visit. Would recommend this camp and will return. Thanks Vallance!!

My friends and I loved camping here. Great spot by the water, flat ground for tents, plenty of wood for our campfires, and a very close distance to amenities in town. The host, Vallance, was easy to chat to.

Great spot overlooking neighbouring farms and river. The place was well looked after with fire pit and swing. Very private and even plenty of wood to keep the fire burning on the chilli nights.

Valance was a great host . Great communication and easy instructions on accessing the property. Lovely spot by the river . Our family group had a wonderful weekend away. Fire pit, tables and swing seat a wonderful addition. Definitely recommend. .

We loved our stay at Yabbies corner. The camp spot was perfect! So beautiful and private. Also an amazing location just down the road from Bowral. Vallance was super fast to respond to any questions and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

What a picturesque spot to camp! We loved being able to have our dog with us and the fencing meant she could sniff around and not stray far from camp. My kids enjoyed being able to hang around the campfire at the same time as fishing. Vallance even loaned us a yabby trap for my son to use. We would love to come back one day.

Yabbie corner was a beautiful spot on the river, host was great and friendly, the site was exactly as described and well maintained. Peaceful spot with lots of bird life and you can go for a walk along the tracks. Would definitely come back.

This spot was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Vallance was so accommodating and friendly. Such a great little spot for a weekend away where you can look onto the paddocks and watch the cattle and wildlife. We will definitely be back!

The photos look great and it is better in the flesh. Super close to Bowral, great directions and easy to find the campsite in the dark. Host was very communicative and friendly. The site is very private (except for the cows on the other side of the creek!) and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Exactly what we were looking for.

Such a pretty and well kept spot by the river! We stayed here in our camper with our small dog. It was so good to have a fenced area for him to run around freely, he absolutely loved it! We loved seeing the pelicans every morning and there are plenty of fish in the river if you throw a line in. Great directions and communication from Vallance. The location is perfect to get out and explore the beautiful towns then head back for quiet time by the campfire. Good directions and communication provided by Vallance. We will definitely stay here again.

What a ripper of a spot. Definitely returning. No trouble navigating our 19ft van through the property to the camp site. Very secure with coded gate access. 3 vans is doable but tight as Vallance had indicated. Very peaceful with only other camp spot 200m away. Thanks for having us Vallance 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nice little spot. Quiet and private. Very pretty. Good instructions. Riverside camping adventure. Good fencing so our little dog could roam free. Good picnic bench. Fun to kayak on Wingcaribee river. Will need to BYO toilet. Great spot as long as you have all your camping necessities. Short drive into town once you realise what you left at home! Ours kids want to come back.

We had a lovely time camping with our 2 children and 2 dogs. The property is beautiful, private and we loved that our dogs could be off lead in the fenced in area. My son had fun fishing for Carp and it was lovely sitting on the provided table and chairs playing cards in the shade. The property is close to parks and shops and easily accessible.

We camped with our two dogs and we had such a great time on the property. Everything was really peaceful, private, nice views and well maintained property with nice table, bbq and swing. The property is very close to the beautiful historical Berrima. Also we had a very nice and funny welcome (we came at night, missed a turn and somehow ended up in the wrong section of the property .... the private backyard 😅) sorry Vallance.

We had 5 nights at Cottonwood camp. The site has a georgous outlook with level area for our 18,6 ft caravan. I loved going walking to explore the property. Its beautiful and very quiet. Valance was a great host and helped us with some local knowledge. It is an amazing camp spot so central to explore this very beautiful area.

We had such a blast! Beautiful campsite with views that will sweep you off of your feet. Knowing that the dogs could only run to the fence line we were all able to relax and wind down. Overall, if you want a campsite to blow you away, Yabbie is the one!
