Windmill Creek Camp

Beautiful spot, highly reccomend booking Windmill Creek camp, if you are looking for nice views of mountain and easy access to the creek, as well as privacy. Owner was very responsive when we realise we liked the lower site better and thankfully we were able to swap.

Lovely campsite with lots of room and great ambience. The creek is great for a swim and very dog friendly. Wal the dog was a great companiona al well One thing that would make it even better is if the gate at the entrance to Windmill was a bit lower on one side so it made it a bit harder for the dogs to wander near the road. All in all a lovely weekend!

Lovely grassy paddock for our 2 caravans to set up. Overlooking the creek with views to Mt. Warning. The road is quite close, but still a very peaceful spot.

Prior to booking this site I'd enquired about the 2 other groups that had booked the 2 other sites - just 2 couples, so should be fairly quiet (need a quiet place due to a competition over the weekend). Unfortunately a group of people were unable to get their caravan in to the other campsite 500m up the road, so the owner allowed them to come and camp next to us, and they had about 6 adults, a couple of kids, and 2 dogs that kept coming over to our spot. I understood the predicament and why they had to camp next to us, but it would've been nice if they had've been quiet and not treated it like they were the only campers there. They were up late the first night until 10:30ish, so I asked the owner to ask them to please be quiet after 9. I don't know if I'd stay here again.. I had really hoped for a peaceful, quiet place to camp and it wasn't at all like that unfortunately. Plus several people from different campsites that this owner has had to come to just behind our camp to get firewood - was quite intrusive. Felt like a thoroughfare.

Great relaxing camp

Great campsite with plenty of wildlife to keep you company. Close to national parks and some excellent hikes, plus there’s a creek to cool off in later. The creek was a little low when we were there due to the lack of rain, but there is a swimming hole a five minute drive up the road which was perfect.

Peaceful Bush Escape

We really enjoyed our stay — it’s a beautiful and peaceful spot with lots of natural charm. The site was slightly overgrown, but that added to the relaxed, rustic feel of the place. There’s no phone service, which was actually be nice if you’re looking to properly switch off, but worth knowing in advance. The only small disappointment was discovering that swimming wasn’t allowed due to an algae outbreak, and there were also signs saying no fishing between August 1 and October 31. The algae warning signs looked quite old, so it would’ve been great to know about both restrictions beforehand, especially since we had kids who were looking forward to swimming and fishing. Overall though, it’s a lovely place to unwind, and we’d be happy to come back once the swimming area is open again!

Every noisy site right on the road. Other campers going in and out of the gate which is at this site. The composting toilet is very smelly.

Easy to access, lovely location. The creek literally beside the camp, and extraordinary birdlife - we watched a Regent Bowerbird hop through the trees for about an hour! Peaceful place to spend a couple of days.

Absolutely loved our weekend stay! Such a peaceful spot with a mix of different wildlife, easy to access and perfect if you’re self sufficient. Was my partner and I’s first trip away with the caravan and it went so smoothly, Bob is great and friendly and his dog Wal is beautiful, will definitely return sometime!

Great spot. We were down on the creek site. Sites are really large. There are only 3 sites so it's never going to be crowded which I loved. The creek was amazing for swimming, especially for kids as there's a sloped entry. As per other reviews you do get a bit of road noise but it's really not much. Would definitely come back. Also just a heads up we had a visit from a ? neighbouring properties doggo. The dog was super chill and quiet, kept to itself, but hung around for quite a while. In no way was this a problem for us, but just in case that wouldn't work for you dog/family.

We had the most beautiful stay! We had the ensuite site which made the stay comfortable. Bob was so lovely and met us on check in and checked on the loo later in the visit which made us feel very taken care of. The creek is stunning and beautiful to swim in. The view is also gorgeous. We loved being able to have our fur baby’s and a fire and overall it was truly a fantastic stay! We will surely be back again!

This is an absolutely beautiful spot, we were very lucky and had the place to ourselves. Situated beside a beautiful running creek it was tranquil and private. Bob was very friendly and accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Windmill Creek Camp is definitely the pick of the 3 camp spots and we will be back when we get the chance.

Great spot - caution with dogs

The spot and host were great. However, we had a lady walk past the site with her dog off lead. The dog came through the fence and wouldn’t go back to its owner when called. Our dog ended up slipping out through the barb wire fence. Our dogs are dog reactive, and we choose solo / private campsites for this reason so it was very stressful and I’m glad no one was hurt. Disappointing for the site owner as it’s not really his fault, he can’t control the neighbours.

Beautiful place to get away! Well maintained camp grounds, beautiful views, serenity. Shops are only a 5 minute drive, but you still feel very secluded. Bob was awesome and super helpful. We rented his kayaks to go exploring and fishing in the big dam which is less than 1 kilometre away…. Yes we caught fish

I loved camping at Windmill Creek! It was very peaceful and had stunning views. The town Uki was very sweet and we went to the markets on the Sunday which were nice!! Bob was very friendly and accomodating and let us explore a little bit more of the grounds! Would definitely recommend, and come back again 😊

Bob’s property is amazing. We stayed mid week without a soul around and just relaxed next to the river and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. I highly recommend staying here!

I wasn't able to go because of rain, but Bob was really accommodating and advised me I can come at another time, which he didn't have to do. I'm hoping I can go later in the year, but based solely on my interactions with him, I'd recommend booking with him.
