Come and enjoy our private camping spots on the beautiful Nymboida River, New South Wales. Check in is before 5pm no check-ins after 5pm Campers have direct access to the river which is great for swimming and paddling. Please note that this is a free flowing river and there are rapids and waterfalls in parts, so care must be taken in parts. The campsites do require a 4WD to be accessed and are not suitable for larger caravans. Small of road vans and camper trailers are fine. Pets are welcome but we are a working cattle property, so if your dog is going to chase cattle it's probably not a great fit. There is a lot to do in the area, including bushwalking, chasing waterfalls, local markets, restaurants, wineries and galleries. 20 minutes from Dorrigo and 50 minutes from Bellingen. Site 3 NOT SUITABLE FOR CAMPER TRAILER OR CARAVAN. CHECK IN MUST BE BEFORE 5PM Site 3 is a private site right on a big waterhole. You will have the entire site to yourselves with total privacy. There is a compost toilet and fire pits at the site. This site is a bit difficult to get to you will need a proper 4WD WITH LOW RANGE. We recommend that this site is a tent only site and is NOT SUITABLE FOR CARAVANS OR CAMPER TRAILERS. The road in is not rough its just a bit steep and when it rains it gets slippery which makes pulling a trailer up the hill impossible. If you want to bring your camper trailer its best to book site 1 or 2 the access to these sites is better for trailers. Its a beautiful site and worth the effort to come and have a stay.

We had an amazing time on Stuart’s property , so much to explore in the area & so many hidden gems .It was so relaxing at the property & was very well maintained with beautiful grassy sites .The river was stunning & lovely for a dip

Our second trip was as amazing as the first. This is by far the most private and spacious site we’ve ever been to. I could sit under the gum tree for hours, listening to the sounds of nature and taking in the peaceful view of the waterhole surrounded by boulders and weeping willows. Stuart is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you again!

Fantastic spot! Very peaceful and private. So good to be able to have my dog off a leash, have a swim in the river and just chill. Stuart was very responsive with his communication. Nice grassy campsite with a fire at night. Lots of birdlife and local trees were in flower. Very pretty. Would definitely recommend.

We camped at site 1. Very large grassy area. Easy river access with beautiful swimming holes. Lots of birdlife. Very private and peaceful. Stuart was a great host. 100% recommend!

My partner, 2 kids and pup loved our stay at site 3! Peaceful getaway. Swimming hole is great just not much of a shallow spot for the kids to play. Stuart has firewood and there is a few for pits ready to go. All in all great stay !

I recently camped at this secluded retreat and had an incredible experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with breathtaking views and a beautifully kept environment. The campsite was serene and private, and we loved having a private waterfall and swimming hole to enjoy. The camping experience was made even more delightful with the provision of delivered firewood, allowing us to warm up by the campfire. Overall, it was a perfect nature getaway that I’d highly recommend.

This was hands down the best Hipcamp I’ve ever stayed at. I booked Site 3 and it was absolute bliss — completely private, tucked away in its own secluded area. The site is beautifully maintained and set right on the river, with super easy access if you want to go for a dip. There’s no phone reception with Optus, which for me was a huge bonus — the perfect excuse to properly switch off. There’s even a tidy little outhouse. Stuart is a top bloke. He welcomed me, showed me around the site, had a friendly chat and then left me to enjoy the peace and quiet — exactly how I like it. I brought my dog along, and because she’s not a fan of other people or dogs, the secluded setup made it absolutely perfect for us. I honestly can’t fault a thing. It’s rare to find a place that nails everything, but this one does. I can’t wait to come back.

A beautiful setting and a well maintained site beside a serene river. Very private even with another family staying on second site. We enjoyed the fire pit as provided and some fishing in the river. Host was very friendly and communicative. Would absolutely stay again.

Absolutely incredible. My wife and I and our 2 boys loved it. The flowing river and rapids are awesome and there was plenty of quite, relaxing time at the campsite. Stuart is a great host and was helpful.

We stayed here in winter and loved it! Very cold so bring lots of blankets! Stuart is so kind and welcoming. Our dog loved it! Definitely recommend.

We loved camping at this beautiful spot. Big waterhole with rapids either end, clear open site with plenty of room to set up camp and for the kids to play, and totally private. Plenty of dead wood around the site for campfire cooking and enjoying the warmth of a fire while taking in the star filled sky. Stuart was fantastic and very graciously helped us when we needed some assistance. Great spot to spend a few days, we will definitely be back. Thanks again Stuart!

Perfect spot on the river! We enjoyed 4 blissful nights at site 2. Nice and close to the water. Great flat site with campfire. Outhouse toilet shared with site 1. No cell reception which was a positive and added to our digital detox. Despite a bit of rain during our stay we had a great time! Both site 1 and 2 are in the same area and a nice distance from each other. We did not hear campers at site 1. Personally I would recommend site 1 over site 2 (after seeing site 1 when our neighbours left camp). Either site is absolutely beautiful though! Will return!

We had perfect weather over Easter and this place is our get away that’s in paradise. The sites are kept immaculate by Stuart and he is very hospitable. Will return with the family again.

Stuart and Tanya have a stunning little spot tucked away next to the winding river. Communication was fabulous and they even offered a refund due to the dreary weather forecast. Luckily we braved it and were rewarded with a great stay. Lovely large grassy site next to the river. Clean pit toilet. Large fire pit. We had the place to ourselves and it was very peaceful. The river had a number of little rapids which did make some noise. Enjoyed watching the varied bird life. Our dog enjoyed the freedom to have some off leash time. We would have loved to get in the water but it was a little too cold for us. Only 20mins to Dorrigo. We ventured out to do a few bushwalks with many options within a short drive. Would love to stay again when the weather was more suitable to take a swim as it was very inviting.

Pretty, peaceful and private

We love 'Hipcamping' because it opens up places and experiences that we could never enjoy otherwise (especially because we travel with a large dog) - natural, wild, peaceful, relaxing places. Wild Nymboida Camping offers all this and more. The campsite was easily accessible, tidy, flat, grassy and spacious with a large fire-pit and right on the river bank. (Firewood available, too). There was only one other campsite, but it was around the river bend and barely visible. A clean and tidy composting toilet was the only visible structure as far as the eye could see. The farmland was lush and green and scenic. The river was clean and fresh and easy to get to - beautiful to cool off in with pools and gentle rapids. We caught glimpses of platypus and turtles in the river at dawn and dusk. The forest and bushland along the river hosted black cockatoos, rosellas, fairy wrens (and the occasional chilled out cow grazing quietly). We could have a crack at lure fishing (for native cod) on the deep holes right in front of the campsite. Great drives all around to explore, with popular waterfalls (mostly N.P.) in the region. It was also nice to step away from internet and phone while at the site, but we could choose to take a short walk up the hill to make a call/send a message if we needed to. Stuart was a good host, making sure we had what we needed, then leaving us to enjoy his beautiful farm. We loved our weekend here. Highly recommend.

A beautiful, well maintained and clean camp site by the river in a picturesque farm. Directions are clear up to the gate and the host drives you to the site himself on the first day. We had another party in the same location, but with good 200 meters apart and could not see or hear them. Clean toilet, shared with Site 2 group though. (We were at site 1). Easy river access. We had three wonderful nights there and will go back with the families.

This place is EPIC. The most beautiful hipcamp we have ever been too! The swimming hole was perfect, the camping area perfect, a very clean drop toilet provided. Cannot wait to bring our friends back here! Thank you Stuart for opening your beautiful land to us :)
