We were only meant to stay for 2 nights, but we loved it so much we ended up booking it for another 5 nights. It’s such a beautiful spot and great for relaxing. Firewood provided, and toilets are well kept. When the weather is good, the sunset is beautiful. I would highly suggest booking a few nights to take in the amazing scenery. We will definitely be back!

Firewood provided, and toilets are well kept. When the weather is good, the sunset is beautiful. I would highly suggest booking a few nights to take in the amazing scenery. Beautiful location by the river, easy checkin, easy access to onsite boat ramp and pontoons, well kept toilet facilities, firewood available, fire pits supplied, Karen and John the hosts were amazing and welcoming, Richard was also extremely friendly and helpful, feeding the cows with the children each morning. Great, large allocated spots, beautiful green grass. Would definitely return again. Highly recommended.

What an amazing hip camp. Easily accessible from the M1 for a night stay or still tucked away enough for a week off peace and tranquillity. With toilets available, town tap water as well as extremely generous size sites all with water views. Very friendly hosts with a great knowledge of the area and all the hot tips of the surrounds. The river has a pontoon great for swimming, fishing, kayaking and boating alike or simply a shady spot under the tree with a good book. Dogs allowed & fire pits provided with fire wood for sale also during the right season. Great price for a great hip camp in a great convenient spot! Thanks guys for your hospitality, will see you again..

Wow — what a sensational place!
We were genuinely gutted that we’d only booked one night. Wide River Water is easily one of the best places we’ve stayed, and we were completely blown away by how beautiful and peaceful it is.
A special mention to Karen and Richard, who we had the pleasure of meeting during our stay. Richard took our son, along with the other children staying on the property, to feed the cows on the morning we left. It was such a great experience for the kids and a really lovely way to finish our stay.
There are fire pits at each site which can be moved around to suit, and bagged firewood is available for $12 through an honesty box, which we thought was fantastic. We were also told that river dolphins occasionally visit, although unfortunately we didn’t get to see any on our visit.
Even our neighbours were great. One of them came over to help me out when my lighter ran out of gas — just one of those little moments that sums up the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of the place.
You can hear a little traffic from the Bruce Highway, which is about 2 km away, but honestly, don’t let that put you off. It really is a minor thing compared with everything else this place has going for it.
We were genuinely sad to pack up and leave after just one night. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back — next time we’re staying for much longer! We highly recommend.

This was such a lovely stopover for the night, hosts let us in early and came over to meet us. We had our own fire pit, there are super clean flush toilets and fresh water. Will definitely stop here again.
Cows are super cute x
We loved the riverfront camping and flushing toilets are a big win. Dolphins came past daily and we were able to have our boat in the water all weekend. Only thing was a little road noise but it’s not bad whatsoever.

Stayed only one night. Beautiful Spot next to the River. Karen‘s neighbour looked after us. Would definitely recommend to stay here. (The hipcamp sign was a Bit Hard to find in the dark, so keep your eyes Open if you arrive Late! But Karen‘s neighbour was also helpful here;))
Great place to stop, sip and unwind. Right on the banks of the river with wide open camp sites and on site fire pits on every site. The hosts were open, friendly and willing to help out if needed. Toilets are clean and fully plumbed…. No long drops or funky smells. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling on the pacific highway to take the time and stop off here for a night or a few.
We absolutely loved our stay at Wide Water Hipcamp! The hosts and caretaker were so friendly and welcoming, and the location was really easy to get to. The campsite was peaceful and relaxing, with lovely clean toilets and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was such a relaxing spot and exactly what we were looking for. We’d definitely stay again!
Such a beautiful relaxing setting, huge fan of the clearly numbered large sites, had a lovely couple of days of R&R to charge our batteries for the next leg of our journey, would highly recommend

Amazing place to stay. Perfectly situated just off the freeway and right on the river. Felt so welcomed. Large clean sites with a fire pit, so didn’t have to use my own. And feeding the cows was a highlight for the kids. Toilets were clean and well kept. Will be recommending others to stay.

Beautiful serene river setting amongst the trees. It was a full moon night and absolutely magical. Clean and easy access to toilets. Try and get there before dark as it’s a bit tricky to find if you arrive at night.
