100 acres amazing bush land, plenty of native wildlife (including koalas), privacy, lovely quiet area to camp near the “shanty” which has shelter and basic area for preparation and eating. The bush is quite thick so children are welcome but need good supervison at all times and are your responsibility. Dogs & pets not permitted (we have our own dogs). You'll need your own amenities (no toilet or shower provided). Campfires permitted in a designated area in winter only and wood supplied. Drinking water at the house if you need it (bit of a walk). Good access for caravans and tents. If you are coming to Hill End which is a short 8 km away it's a great place to base yourself. 69 km to the amazing wineries of Mudgee or head to Bathurst and checkout the amazing mount panorama. Or if you like a 20 km 4x4 drive down to the Macquarie river for a fish or just to enjoy the views. This property offers quiet, private camping for the adventurous who wants the peace and tranquility

Private ,peaceful site with amazing mountain views! wander through the bush and see what wildlife you can find. We even have koalas on our block! you are welcome to do some detecting, who knows what you may find!! We are an hours drive from both Mudgee and Bathurst, great for a day visit to check out the wineries and of course the famous Mount Panorama! Historic Hill End is just a few minutes drive away.Great cafes for a refreshing coffee or light meal Visit History Hill, a privately own museum showcasing the famous Holtermann's Nugget for a small cash donation. Visit the local pub for nice cold beer and a meal. a lovely place to kick back and immerse yourself in some of early Australian history

The Tree of life
Karen was friendly and ready to show the way. Space was lovely and quiet. You do need to bring everything as stated in the listing. The surrounding towns like Hill End and Sofala are lovely and quaint. Good for cycling.

The Tree of life
We loved our stay at The Tree of Life site. We towed our 15 foot pop top camper in easily. We were met by Karen and escorted in which was great. The camp was spacious and we couldn’t see any other site or houses from where we were - bliss! Plenty of firewood in the surrounding bush. Very handy to Hill End - we look forward to returning one day.

Wombat & Karen are lovley hosts ❤️ Campground at tree of life is open and can easily fit a group of 10 or more! 🌲 🌞 Plenty of room for all vehicles, awnings, gazebos, and swags. You get good shade from morning & miday sun, some shade for Arvo sun. Campground is mainly flat, bit of bush travel to get in (nothing hectic). Tree of Life Campground has its own private driveway so you never have to bother the hosts. Hill End has soooo much to do, gold panning, x2 museums, mine tours, walking tracks, many many look outs, cute cafe, and good little pub. We felt safe & secluded to leave our gear at site as we ran around the village. As expected it is dry dust area, and don't forget to bring your own water :)

Great spot, plenty of space for tents, camper trailers, etc. had the place to myself, surrounded by the trees, was awesome, plenty off firewood for camp fire, close enough to Hill End, Cheer’s Brian

Overall the site was good, very private, very bushy and quiet. Very friendly hosts. My only detraction is that I do not think the site is really suited for caravans. My van is only 18.6 feet and just made it in. Narrow track with lots of overhanging trees. Would be more suited to pop tops, campers and 4 wheel drives with roof top tents. 8 out of 10

Camped with some mates before doing the bathurst to hill end bridle track. Great spot and friendly host that cut us firewood for no charge. Cheers wombat 🍻

Privacy and Away from the world

A nice quiet spot away from the world, a good small clearing with bushland surrounding made it an ideal private getaway, we really enjoyed a few drinks around the camp fire, showering under the stars and the friendly wildlife there were a couple of small wallabies, kangaroos an echidna and a bearded dragon. Karen the owner was easy going, she guided us to the site and was happy for us to swing our gold detectors around the quartz veins on the property

What a spot!! Beautiful grassed area overlooking the mountains...and with the sunrise too just to make it perfect. Completely private and plenty of space. We had a wonderful time. Karen was very responsive and helpful. Hill End is close by - worth spending a few days to look around at the historical sites and the pub was great too (live music!). Overall one of our best trips and great camping spot. Loved it! The pictures don’t do it justice!!

Our site wasn’t the best but the other sites close by looked really good just make sure you get the grass sites Could be more spread out the lure of the bush is great but you are very close to other campers not a bad thing if you are a large group Also take mozzie repellent they were shocking Overall just great to be in the bush

Highly recommend this property. The host was super responsive to all our messages and the property is a great bush camp. Nice and quiet, plenty of firewood and amazing night time views of the stars. Very close to the attractions around the area.
