We loved the location and privacy of site 3. There was ample shade and a creek nearby. The kids enjoyed exploring and collected sticks a to make a campfire. This spot was close to town and within 30mins or so to the beach. There’s a shower on site too, although we didn’t get to use it- gas bottle required. The thunderstorms were beautiful from this paddock too!

Lovely spot

Beautiful spacious and secure area. Plenty of firewood to get a fire going. Definitely worth it! Only thing to mention is that the working dog/dogs could be heard keeping their herd safe throughout the night. Didn't faze us but young babies could be disrupted. Both our kids slept no issues.

Private, spacious but next to road

We were originally on site 1 and then moved to site 3 as it was a bit flatter. Lots of holes in the ground which we had to be careful of. All sites were very spacious and private. The only downside to this camp was the road noise as the sites are directly next to the road. In our caravan we couldn’t hear it at night though but sitting outside it was loud. Lots of firewood to cut up around the sites and there were designated fire pits also. They had a gas shower overlooking the forest which looked like it would be amazing but wasn’t hooked up to the gas.

Great spot near Kiwarrak Mtb Park

Great location to be close to the Kiwarrak Mtb Park. Well distributed campsites, not super close to each other. We were unlucky with the heavy rain that’s been so was very muddy but would have been a great site with no heavy rain.

A lovely spot- arrived in the dark but handled the reversing in of the van into our little private spot. Did the trick for us as a base for local exploring. Hosts really responsive to Qns.

We stayed at camp 2, which was a great selection of the four sites for our setup. Site 4 is more secluded and would've worked for our camper also. Sites 1 and 3 are more open and would be better for bigger rigs or groups. The grounds campsites are well spread apart, so from our experience has no potential for interruption from other campers. As mentioned previously, it is close to the road but traffic is only barely noticeable during the day and non existent at night. Don't expect too much from the creek though. It's a creek. Great correspondence from the host Hayley. Always had prompt responses. Will visit again.

Great little overnight stay. We were the only ones there. Would choose site 4 as a nicer site but 2 was also secluded and we had a peaceful night rest

It was a nice stay. Very close to the road traffic noise until late night and the creek looked a bit dodgy not one I would paddle in Other than that, it is a beautiful camp site with easy access.

Pros and cons

My review isn’t based on what could be done better, it’s just simply a pros and cons of things I liked and disliked about the camp spot and if I would stay there again. Pros: site had plenty of room, we enjoyed listening to the different bird calls in the morning, we had the entire place to ourselves as there were no other campers, we stayed on site 1, it was next to a small body of water with lily pads and lots of frog noises at night. We really enjoyed the morning sun and having our tea by the water. Cons - our spot was only about 20-30 meters away from the road, with consistent traffic coming past during the morning, we could hear all the cars driving past, there are trees between the road and the camp site but you can see the cars passing by briefly. There was a lot of moisture in the air, everything was basically covered in dew as soon as sun went down, we had to wipe our entire tent down inside as it was covered in moisture by the morning. The ground is quite soft and squishy, there were sunken in holes in the ground which we had to be mindful of walking around our campsite. I would recommend this campsite for an overnight stay, not any more than that. I initally booked for 3 nights but after camping there for a night we ended up booking a spot for a similar price somewhere else for the next two nights.

We enjoyed our stay, we stayed 2 nights. Had a bit of rain but still had a camp fire both nights, all sites have fire pits . Sites are close to the Bucketts Way but not noisy when we slept. We stayed on Site 2 which was pretty, flat and tucked away. After looking around we decided that site 3 is great for groups of campers, Site 4 is the pick of the sites as you can see Peg Leg creek better. Not as flat but lovely spot. Lots of birds around which was nice. We live locally and will go there again.

Amazing Spot!

Had the whole place to ourselves; so it was super quiet. (Even with the road behind us) once we went to bed (8:30pm) there was no traffic noise. Perfect spot to set up for a week or even just a night like we did. We brought our own firewood and even had some dropped off not long after we got there (thank you again!). We’ll definitely be staying again 😁

Great stay at Hayley’s land site 4. This spot is a bit more privat and away from the road. Other sites are more in the sun and out in the open yet closer to the road.There is a creek running around the site. The property was well maintained. It was very convenient for us as it was close to Taree and only 20 min drive away from dog friendly beaches. We will definitely be coming back.

We initially booked site 3 which is very open and grassy with 2 fire pits, is a little bit close to the road but the noise dies down at night (a great spot if you had friends with you). We contacted Hayley and changed to site 4. It’s a little bit more secluded and surrounded by the creek and a canopy of trees. There was more grass coverage when we stayed than there is in the photo as well. Site 4 was also below the road level so was much quieter regarding the traffic. We had a gorgeous time staying here. Hayley was great in letting us swap sites. Highly recommend.

Beautifully kept grounds, nice and private. Great spot if you have a group of friends, but also nice for a peaceful weekend away for 2. Plenty of available firewood but you may need to bring some kindling.

Only stayed 1 night but it was a lovely place to camp, a little confusing when you reach the gate, maybe a sign on the gate would help? Anyway, gorgeous little camp.

Great little spot to stop on the way up North. Had the whole place to ourselves which was nice. Sites are clearly marked and directions were perfect. Might stop on the way back, time depending. Kids loved it.

Small and private

Site 4 is small and private - probably the pick of the camps if you don't need lots of space. Close to shower which is convenient, but means other campers are nearby - just set up your camp accordingly. There is road noise but the cars are not frequent. No firewood or hot water when I was there, but Hayley was apologetic.

Fantastic little hideaway secluded under a canopy of trees, my partner and I are into mtb riding and wanted to be close to the mtb trails near by, thus why choosing here to stay. Would recommend any of the sites if available, site 4 does have most shade being tucked away compared to the other sites that are more open. We loved the open fire and the convenience of log’s being available. A cute useable shower was also a benefit to wash of our muddy legs after a ride. Will definitely come back and stay when riding up that way again. Cheers.

Good base camp

I camped in site 2 along the creek which unfortunately hasn't seen water for a very long time but that didn't phase me ,still sounded by trees and tucked away in a corner This camp is within site of the road and can be a bit noisy at times . There are others sites and you are away from these I was blessed to have it all to myself A good camp base if your looking around the area, Taree ,Wingham ,Old bar which I took my grandchildren to the beach just to name a few places

Great little spot. I only stayed for the night as I was travelling through. You can see other campers but the campsites are spread out enough it provides a the perfect distance - not too close to for noise to travel to Dustin each other but also not too far away should you wish to head over for a chat. There is an outdoor heated DIY shower that can also be used whenever needed, if needed. Would stay again.
