With 2 km of Tarlo River access, extensive views of Tarlo Gap and Tarlo Hill, 5 km of paths and tracks, 4 picnic areas, swimming holes and more you can have your own rural experience for an afternoon, day or weekend. We have renovated a historic shed overlooking the river and valley with landscaped gardens and stairs down to the picnic area by the river where you can stay or host your own occasion such as a BBQ, party, conference or wedding (separate fees apply). Bush camping by the river or up on the back hills. Beautiful untouched wilderness with spectacular views for those that just want to pitch a tent, fish or swim in the river, or go for a walk or three. Far enough from the road to feel the quiet and solitude of the bush, but an easy walk back to The Shed and other campgrounds if you run into trouble or feel like some company. WALK IN ONLY - Car must be left at the parking area. Only a few hundred metre walk to the river and across.

Sitting by the banks of the Tarlo River you can pitch a tent, camper van or park your caravan under the willow trees. This site has a number of good swimming holes at your doorstep with direct river access. Easy walk to The Shed and Tarlo Valley Views campground (with toilet & communal firepit), tiered gardens, Tarlo Hill lookout, Old Bridge, more swimming holes and river access, and other picnic areas, Locate this site on Google Maps by searching "Tarlo River Campgrounds" or "The Shed At Tarlo" There are lots of native animals spart from the sheep and cows grazing on our back fields we have kangaroos, rabbits, ducks, birds and wombats that love to come through the area. Note: Track down to river is often wet and a little muddy during winter and periods of rain. Not a high gradient (1 in 15) but can get slippery if you are heavy, don't have the power or have off-road tyres.

Full height windows and bi-fold doors to the deck give access to the outdoor firepit, amphitheatre, paths and gardens to the river below. Large undesignated sites with easy 2WD access from a sealed road. with flat, level and hard ground. Separate entrance from the main driveway for convenient 24 hr access. A renovated shed with concrete floor, rugs, couch, benches, electricity, furnished queen bed, electric blanket, lights, multi-media system (including YouTube & streaming), TV, guest WiFi, camp kitchen facilities, indoor fire, arcade machine, board games, large barn doors, mood lighting and BBQ. Full height windows and bi-fold doors to the deck give views across the valley and river in all weather conditions. Exclusive private use of this space is yours from 6pm to 9am each night (from 7pm in summer) no matter whom else is on site. Airbeds and blankets available for extra guests or children. The night sky and rainbows after a storm are amazing! Also has an outdoor firepit area and benches with landscaped gardens, seats, paths and stairs to the river. Easy 2WD access from a sealed road. Richard and Sarah were both very friendly and helpful. The campsite is beautiful and easily accessible. We loved staying here and will definitely be returning!

I'll start by saying we camped in our own caravan. We didn't require many of the facilities on offer. The grounds are tidy and well kept, albeit soggy but that's not the owners fault we visited during a bout of rain. There was some mess around the fringes of the property. Not in the camping area. Looked as though the owners had some WIP projects going. The wifi worked all the way in our van which was nice. The shed we used one morning for breakfast. It could do with a tidy. Again we didn't stay inside and imagine it would be tidier had they had a booking. Overall I feel the cost for what was on offer was slightly high 50 per night was abit much. I feel 30-40 would have been fair. But this is not a complaint. The owner met us late in the evening later then we expected they were friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience that could become a great one with some time and work. Keep it up guys.

The Back Lot
It was a great experience to camp at the back lot. Only our group was there on the day we went so feeling like having the whole space to ourselves. Very quiet and peaceful, perfect for stargazing. It was an easy walk to get to the back lot, but it won’t feel that easy if you got lots of stuff. Recommend if you’re travel in groups so everyone can help out.

The Back Lot
We loved tent camping on Sarah's land. It provides a tranquil camping spot atop a hill, with sheep nearby and kangaroos hopping around in the morning. Amazing experience!

What a lovely spot! I highly recommend getting the property tour. Our girls loved picking through the property and discovering all the vantage points, especially the river crossings to do so. We woke up to the most gorgeous misty valley sunrise imaginable in this lovely farm-style stay.

We drove in and drove out immediately it looked like a garbage dump site. It was not a place where we wanted to spend the night. I personally would not recommend it.

Awesome spot to set up ! Really enjoyed our stay and the owners were very accomodating. Quick walk up the hill to watch the beautiful sunset.

We drove into The Shed and did a 180 within 30 seconds because nothing about was appealing to spend a night there with my wife and kids. It basically looks like a junkyard…and honestly also didn’t feel safe. I will be sending a request for a full refund. Surprised that HipCamp allows these kinds of sites in their database. Unfortunately we did not take pictures before leaving but I think the HipCamp team should definitely do some better due diligence. On the other hand we found a great site just half an hour down the road to spend the night…always on HipCamp😉

We loved our short stay here. The hosts were welcoming. Sarah and Richard have brought back to life a beautiful shed. Such a vibe. We hope the hosts’ future plans for the property come to fruition.

Mixed feelings - the view across the valley was stunning, however, the amenities are not quite as described or as seen in the pictures. The shed was filthy - old leftover food in the fridge and rubbish hadn't been taken out so it was teeming with flies. Owner attributed the state of the place to the rowdy group who stayed the night before, but then spent most of the day in the shed watching TV or speaking really loudly on the phone. The portaloo was broken, and while the host was kind enough to let me use the toilet in his house, as a solo female traveller I felt a little uncomfortable with the state of the place. Unsure if this their usual standard, but my experience was not worth the $50/night.

Nice quiet off the grid dog friendly camping spot along side the Tarlo River. The camping ground was tidy and maintained. The river was flowing and deep enough to swim. My kids enjoyed the river swim. The river is wild and a bit messy with debris. We accessed the camping ground with our 21ft semi off road caravan. 4WD not necessary although it was beneficial. Richard as host is a legend.

Great views, Richard was very helpful. Unfortunately the serenity was short lived and felt like we were in a van park with others campers right next to our group and right in front. Maybe look at having less spots available around the shed. Or spacing them out more. As this was our first stay at these properties, hoping others would not be as busy. Fire wood available, portable loo so better to be self contained. Short drive to Goulburn to get water.

Sarah was such a prompt replier and happy to assist us with any questions prior to booking! Her husband directed us to our camping area and it was so clean and open by the river and felt very secluded. Would camp here again :)

Loved our camp site all to ourselves. Close to the road, a little noisy, but safe for dogs. Our dogs loved the freedom there and many dips into the water as it was very hot. Host was very friendly and helpful. We recommend and would stay here again. Thank you!

Not far from highway and easy to find the location. You enjoy your camping and can save time to get back on freeway for next destination. Access to Toilet and potable water. Overall good experience.

Camped in my caravan right on the river was very beautiful and quiet My dogs loved the river for swimming and walking along Richard was wonderful and very helpful and only 10 minutes from Goulburn Other campers there but didn't see or hear them from where I was so very private and relaxing 😌
