Just completed our second stay at Ross' place for our annual catch up of our long time collegue friends group. We really can't recommend it enough. Terrific location and surrounds, fantastic accommodation and a gracious host. Doesn't get much better than this. We hope to return soon.

A truly amazing setting for a cottage. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of every day life; it is a throwback to simpler times with nature surrounding you. The cottage was well set up and comfortable with beautiful views. We can’t wait to return!

Firstly Ross and Naomi are wonderful hosts who looks after their guests. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at their place.
It was an amazing experience living close to nature with no mobile reception at all. That gonna detach you from your day to day routine life and let you live to the fullest just as yourself with no other thoughts in your mind.
There's a lot to explore like trekking, swimming, watching animals that pass by and listening to the birds chirping in the morning.
You'll definitely feel like it's your home with all the amenities they provided. I'd say you have to stay there for few days to explore more.
That's a perfect spot to rejuvenate. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone. I myself will visit the place again.

Our group loved the time out at Tinnenburra Lodge. The amenities were well above what we'd expected with power, hotwater, recently renovated bathroom and plenty of beds. But the best bit was the location, perched above a flowing river with views of rapids and waterfalls, the sound of constant water flowing was a great backdrop to conversations with friends. At night time we enjoyed an outside fire by the house and during the day we explored the river and surrounding area before settling in for an afternoon fire on the beach next to the river, fishing, swimming and relaxing. I loved the fact there was no mobile reception at the house and those who needed it were happy to know it was available just 5 minutes up the road.
Communication with Ross as easy, welcoming and to the point and I couldn't recommend the lodge highly enough.

Absolutely magical, magical place. Can’t recommend highly enough. Stunning landscape, beautiful accomodation, everything was absolutely wonderful. We swam in the river and even saw a platypus!! Fantastic all round ❤️

Tinnenburra Lodge
We had a lovely weekend at the lodge really comfortable, awesome views, comfy beds, some bush bashing and rock hoping to swim in the river, and fishing for trout. Saw alot of wildlife, and the stars at night were impressive. Perfect place to get away from everything and be in nature, which is just wear we needed. Hosts were very helpful

A little piece of paradise!! This is a very special place indeed. The lodge itself has everything you need. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms are well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen also has a few extra dry stores (oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee etc). We were there during two hot days (35 degrees and 30 degrees) and the lodge remained cooler and then captured the afternoon breezes as the temperatures dropped.
The views over the river, waterfalls and cliffs, the sounds of the river and bird life and the smells of the bush delight the senses and help you forget about the rest of the world. Also helped by the fact that we had no phone reception.
The river isn’t easy to access but we enjoyed bush bashing on foot and scrambling over rocks exploring the various ways to access the multiple swimming holes. I am 33 weeks pregnant and we have an 8yo and 2.5yo and we managed. It’s all well worth the effort.
We also enjoyed the stars at night and getting a fire going outside to cook a few marshmallows in. The dog also loved exploring with us and listening to her bark reverberate off the cliffs.
I have no doubt we will be back to enjoy this little slice of heaven. Ross is very friendly and Steve enjoyed his homemade cider.
Things to note: road in is freshly graded for about half the way. A few pot holes and a little rocky crossing but nothing too bad. Perhaps just a car with a little more clearance would be advisable. Beds are firm.

The lodge had everything we needed for an off-grid weekend away. Loved the remote feel but also having the Hosts at the farmhouse not too far away if we needed anything. The lodge was very cosy and the sound of the river and waterfall was just perfect.

Tinnenburra was so magic!
The lodge is located in an amazing place in front of a waterfall a full of wombats wondering around.
Ross told us that there is a platypus that also lives in that river!
It's so nice and peaceful and our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend there.
It's also pets allowed, which made our life much easier as well!
The lodge is beautiful and we absolutely loved spending time around the fireplace and the incredible view from the balcony!
I can't wait to go back!

The Lodge at Tinneburra was just amazing. If we could give it 6 stars out of 5 we would. Spectacular is the only way to describe the landscape, especially the river and waterfalls. The lodge itself was super clean and well appointed - the hosts had absolutely everything covered. Ross even left us a bottle of his amazing home brewed apple cider as a welcome. It's not a question of if we will visit again, but when! Thanks so much for an awesome few days.

Tinneburra lodge is a beautiful spot to spend time in nature and away from the internet and phone. The sounds of the river are just lovely. The bush outlook is so peaceful. The house is warm and cozy. River access is difficult but worth the climb and we caught several trout. The road in is definitely AWD and in the wet, a 4WD is almost a must. We will certainly stay in this little peace of paradise again. Thank you to Ross and Naomi for your hospitality.

The lodge was beautifully equipped - everything was top quality
The location was beautiful - the sound of the river and the waterfall was Amazing and we can’t wait to go back .
Ross was a very helpful and accomodating host .
Our group were a bit too old for the steep walk down to the river … it would be ideal if there was a path to the river making it more accessible for all
However there were plenty of places to explore and photograph .
We see a big black snake and lots of bird life.

The road in has recently been graded and made for an easy trip in… we had 4WD… but a larger sedan would be ok

First time booking through Hipcamp, wasn't sure what to expect.
The Lodge was beautiful & nicely appointed. Off grid living at its finest. The surroundings were superb. Plenty to explore, including a raging river very close by. The drive in on the dirt road took us about an hour, it was difficult to navigate because of the dips and holes. Our car is a Subaru Impreza 4WD, a bigger 4WD would have made the trip easier and quicker. The mattresses on the beds are very firm we found them to hard, apart from that our stay was extremely enjoyable and we look forward to a return trip😊

Tinnenburra Lodge
The place was absolutely gorgeous! The view is jawdropping and so tranquil. There were so many lovely and welcoming personal touches, from the additional blankets, games, indoor plants, toiletries, and a complimentary bottle of homemade apple cider. We managed to come at the last of the wildflower season so there was yellow, whites and pinks blanketing the hills. The view of the night sky is absoutely breathtaking.
I would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive, as the drive in was a little hairy after the recent rains, but pushing on through the rough terrain was totally worth it once you get to the lodge.
Definitely bring hiking boots (and possibly a weed whacker) and you can find a path down to the riverbed from the lodge, which was well worth the adventure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodge and would love to come back and stay again.

Beautifully presented accommodation @The Lodge in a magical bush location.
Wake up to the sounds of birds and the river flowing below.
Spent time with family clambering through bush and over rocks to the waterfall. Couldn’t make the beach to go for a swim as the river was raging and the track impassable.
Wildflowers filled the surrounding fields, and we were lucky enough to spot a platypus when the river subsided.
Being offline reconnecting with family, playing board games, having barbecues and conversation was priceless.
Additional notes:
The road in was pretty gnarly, 4WD a
must (our kids got bogged and needed rescuing, pulled the car out and left it at the start of the track) the road had deep holes and crevices.
Access to the river is difficult, not for the faint hearted and unfit.

Tinnenburra Lodge
Absolutely loved our weekend away. The house is fabulous, super comfy with everything you'd need for a home away from home. The scenery is stunning and going to sleep listening to the sound of the river is pure bliss! Highly recommend for small groups or families
Tips:
* The road in isn't great, recommend either a AWD or 4WD but can manage okay in a car that has a bit of height from the ground
* Ignore Google maps! When you think you are lost, you're not, just keep going :)
* You'll need to bush-bash a bit to get down to the river, going towards the falls, walk until you see the dead trees marking a big X and then head down vertically - wear long socks or pants.
* The water is cold :)
