My friend and I stayed at Summer Island Farm for 2 nights and the host Ashley was very accomodating. He went out of his way to give us a farm tour which was a really great experience. I would 100 percent recommend staying at Summer Island Farm, very lovely and relaxing place. :)

Wow where to start… This place is not only incredibly beautiful with lots to do in nearby towns only 15 minutes away but also owned by Ash who is the kindest person and so hospitable. Ash we cannot thank you enough for your help and hospitality for us. If you want a peaceful stay with your own space this is the place to go! Beautiful property that’s nice and quiet, a friendly farm horse that roams around. Bella the beautiful dog that loves a pat and a run around. There’s a toilet, privacy and everything else.

My family and I loved our overnight stay. Ash was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. We set up with a view of the river which was especially beautiful to sit along at sunrise for a morning coffee. The kids loved the horse, 'Giraffe', who was friendly enough to come by our van for a feed and a pat.

Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Nice quiet spot with lots of lush grass. Was quite wet when we were there so we were thankful to be able to use concrete slab and undercover area to dry clothes and kids to play. Fig trees ginormous and kids loved playing in them

Loved camping at Ashley's farm, extremely hospitable host, a variety of campsites to choose from. Allows privacy and feeling of space. Incredible Figtree and surrounding views. Highly recommended for short and long term stays, we will definitely be back.

Wow what a great location. Farm is lovely, so close to South West Rocks. Nice flat area, super friendly horse named Giraffe. Ash was a lovely host and was really patient with us as we arrived very late and set up in the wrong spot. Would definitely go back and stay there again!

Ashley was flexible and helpful and left us to our own.
The old barn was handy during the rain to hang up some wet things. The old horse was lovely and the bats gave us a spectacle every dusk in the massive fig trees. Handy located between Hat Head and SW Rocks.

Absolutely loved our stay. The property was perfect, across the road from the river where my partner got to fish every morning and 10mins to SW Rocks. Ash was a fantastic host, super friendly and accommodating. The property is a working farm so it was a delight to be greeted by bulls every morning aswell as a gorgeous horse who loved the pats.

River Farm Stay @ Summer Island
We had an excellent night at Summer Island Farm by the river. Location is idyllic, river runs direct across the (quiet) road from the front of the property close to the camp site location. Behind you are giant Moreton Bay figs and farmland.
Ash was a great host, even when we were running late due to holiday traffic from Sydney and Newcastle. Took our aspiring farmer out to look at the farm and move a cow. Giraffe the horse was extremely friendly too.
Looking forward to coming back for another stay.

Amazing! Ash was a very welcoming host, even going to extent of letting our 2 kids get involved in farm activities. Beautiful views and easy access to South West Rocks. Giraffe (the resident horse) was a special bonus.

Ash’s Hipcamp is beautiful. It is a brilliant alternative to South West Rocks which was packed on a long weekend…we had peace and serenity on Summer Island. Ash was a wonderful host and we learned lots about cattle from him. We loved meeting Giraffe, Bella and the chooks.
We explored the local villages and SW Rocks which is about 10 mins drive away. Got to see whales migrating north from the viewpoint at lighthouse, did a lovely beach walk, saw loads of dolphins, fished and ate the most beautiful fresh prawns for lunch (bought at Ball’s Butchery in Paragon Ave).
Also saw a Jabiru aka black necked stork.

Absolutely amazing spot. Thank-you Ash for your wonderful hospitality. I would definitely recommend River Stay Farm to anyone looking for a relaxing, truly authentic farm stay. My only complaint was that we only had one night to spend here. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time. Thanks again Ash.

Great little spot in the paddock with the horse, bull and beautiful old fig tree, across the quiet rd from the river. Fantastic accommodating hosts, such a lovely couple.

This was our first time off grid in our caravan, and it was a wonderful, easy, beautiful experience.
The property is stunning, easily accessible and Ash is unbelievably hospitable.
The views are extraordinary, and you have the river right across the road to enjoy as well.

Lovely level quiet riverfront location with plenty of room. Close to town and beaches. Host very hospitable and accommodating.

We had the most incredible stay. The site is a huge grassy paddock and you can choose to set up camp in a range of places - over looking the river, in the shade of a big tree, next to the stables where there is running water and cover from sun and rain.
Ash is a host in every sense of the word, inviting us up to the house for beers on the verandah.
This camp is magical and sharing the space with horses, chickens and cows gave us the perfect farm stay experience, all while being within a quick drive to surf beaches.

Host was very welcoming and gave us all the info on arrival. Very friendly horse in the paddock with us and the kids loved having him at our window. Great under cover area if needed. Caught mud crab in the river!

Ash is a super host and we felt very welcomed on his beautiful farm. We enjoyed a beer on a good chat on the veranda with Ash and his mates while the rain settled, and then parked our van between a massive Morton bay fig tree and the refurbed stables. The stables are a haven on a rainy day, with an old wood fire box. The fig is great shade when things warm up.
