Ruby Rest is a working horse stud and farm supply store. We are technically in NSW with our boundary fence being the QLD border. The property is located just 5 mins from the town of Stanthorpe known for its chilly temperatures, apple orchards and wineries. We are a family owned and run operation and are happy to share our little piece of granite belt beauty with happy campers. There is one toilet and two showers so patience and consideration is required, especially on busy weekends.

Ruby Rest is a working horse stud and on farm rural supply store. We are technically in NSW with our boundary fence being the QLD border. We are just a 5 minute drive from the town of Stanthorpe known for its chilly temperatures, apple orchards and wineries. We are a family owned and run operation and are happy to share our little piece of granite belt beauty with happy campers. We have two types of sites. Sites with amenities for those that like their comforts and completely self sufficient sites without amenities for the wild ones. Booking prices reflect this. There are several different sites to choose from depending on what suits your needs. Whether you want to be nestled into a granite boulder rise or down by the waters edge, you take your pick. During the winter months the undulating ground gives some protection from the icy breeze and there are plenty of shade trees for the summertime. All sites overlook the gully of dams and wetlands gently flowing into each other and alive with Birdlife. Please be aware that we are in a rural and farming area. Occassionly late at night or early morning the smell of pig farming from a neighbouring property may waft in. Apologies if you are unlucky enough to experience this but don't worry it disappears as quickly as it arrives. There are risks associated with camping, these can include wildlife encounters with snakes/spiders and other biting insects. Dingoes are present so pets and children must be kept in your sight at all times and water can be deadly, so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times when outdoors. Wedge-tailed eagles and hawks patrol the skies and little dogs that look like bunnies are not off the menu for them. Be vigilant and do not feed the dingoes. If you are approached by them do not run. Calmly make some noise, clap your hands or pick up a stick to wave at them and get to the safety of your site. Please contact me if you have an encounter and I will do my best to vacate them.

Such a beautiful camp at Ruby Rest! We camped by the lake and got to see amazing birdlife and the kids had a ball on their kayak in the water. Plenty of firewood around and a beautiful outlook

Ruby rest was a nice peaceful spot for our overnight stop. We camped overlooking the dams which obviously have a heathy ecosystem attracting lots of birdlife.

We had an amazing camping stay at Ruby Rest. The scenery was gorgeous, and we got to pat the ponies that came up to our camp site. The facilities were great. We will be coming back again.

Clean well maintained facilities. Absolutely lovely spot. We were lucky enough to be completely alone while we were there. So much to explore and do in the area from bush walking to wine tours amd breweries, even sampled some local cheese and ciders. Cant wait to go back to this magic spot.

Beautiful spot, we loved our stay at Ruby Rest. We were lucky to enjoy some stunning sunsets and cosy nights by the fire while visiting Stanthorpe and Girraween National Park during the days. Great location, not far from town at all! We adored the cows, was a definite highlight of our stay! May be handy to have a shovel to clear a cow patty or two when you initially set up, but don’t mistake that as a detractor from our stay!

We loved our time at Ruby Rest. The facilities were well kept and the hot water pressure was phenomenal. The views were spectacular - we had 2 stunning sunsets. It was lovely to allow our dog off leash - she had a fabulous time exploring. Kendall was accommodating of our early arrival on Friday which was much appreciated. We would highly recommend Ruby Rest as a base to explore the region from.

This is a gorgeous large paddock with a series of dams through the middle. Lots if space and beautiful views. There are mowed areas and fire pits to park on. It would be tricky if wet but Kendall is right on top of advising where is best to park. We didn’t use the facilities but there was heaps of wood to use on the fire. We would go back here in a heartbeat.

We loved staying at Ruby Rest. It's a relaxing, beautiful farm very close to Stanthorpe and only 30 mins from Girraween National Park. Lots of space between campers, a great place to have a little explore on the property itself and to watch the sunset/sunrise.

Sitting in paddock full cow poo and come back from town and the camp has a heard of cows through it and even more crap. Just as well we had front and rear differential locks it was so boggy we would not have gotten out.

My partner and I had such a nice experience camping at ruby rest. It had such a quite and peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views, and even some beautiful horses on the property to pat. Kendall was also extremely flexible with check in/out times which was amazing for us. We would definitely stay again and recommend to our friends. 😊

Amenities were good. Only two showers and one toilet though so I'd allow extra time if the place is busy. It was completely empty for us which was great to have the place to ourselves. About what you would expect for camping in a paddock in terms of views. I'd go back though.

What an amazing spot! We were greeted by horses at the gate, which my kids were thrilled to see. There were plenty of available branches on the ground to utilise as firewood and our spot right beside the water was perfect. We walked up to the amenities for nice warm showers on a cold morning - what an absolute treat. We stayed at Ruby Rest on our way down to Tenterfield, it was a short 10min detour off the highway and easily fit our large setup (Silverado 2500 + 23ft caravan) Special mention goes to Mick & Kendall who got our drone that was stuck in the tree too! We will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful spot in a great location. Not only did my son love it but both my dogs loved it. Extremely clean facilities and spot to camp. All campers were respectful of others. I will be back thank your for your hospitality

Big open farm land about 5 mins from Stanthorpe itself. Was greeted by one of the daughters on horseback which was cool! Who was polite and told us where we could camp. It was very rainy and windy while we were there. The amenities were clean and user friendly.

Great proximity to Stanthorpe with beautiful sunset views around a fire. Friendly hosts and visiting horses. Directions are a little unclear with two access points, and the shed you are looking for is probably more brown than red.

We arrived after dark and hard some difficulty finding an empty spot, but Kendall came straight down and helped us find a perfect spot right next to a little glade of trees. The amenities were good and we had a lovely time!

Lovely spot, with beautiful vista of dam. Loads of bird life and very friendly horses. Great off leashes site for well behaved dogs. Signage a little tricky to notice but owners helped direct us to find a site. Facilities very clean but a decent walk from camp.

I loved camping at Ruby‘s rest. It was a tranquil, relaxing getaway from Brisbane. Everything you need to unwind and relax. The setting was stunning. The hosts were amazing. The facilities were great, definitely returning.

This was our second time camping at Ruby Rest and this time we brought friends along too. We looove the space. Lots of flat ground for tents and ample, comfortable space for campervans as well. When we weren’t out hiking in Girraween or Bald Rock national parks, we took some beautiful walks around the dams atcthe property and enjoyed the sight of horses, cows and buffalo. There is access to two showers and a toilet, and the most we had to wait to use either of those were a few minutes. Hot water never ran out and the host, Kendall seems to always be around to help or to answer any questions. I’d recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay somewhere in the vicinity of Stanthorpe!

We had an awesome couple of nights. Plenty of room for everyone even though it was Easter. Hosts were great. Only 5 mins from Stanthorpe, we will definitely be back for another visit

Woke up to a magical sunrise and went down to bald rock, great location, nice open space and felt private even though many campers. Lots of good spots to set up camp.
