Roagumba, or Roa for short, is our 920 acre patch of paradise in the stunning Yowrie Valley, an area traditionally inhabited by the Yuin people. Roa is a working cattle farm, made up of approximately 60% cleared land and the rest native bushland. The Yowrie Valley is largely surrounded by the beautiful Wadbilliga National Park. It is a 35 minute drive to the beaches near Bermagui, whilst the historic and quirky town of Tilba is 40 minutes away. The crystal clear Yowrie River flows along the western side of the property with numerous secluded swimming holes. The property is a working cattle farm so you're likely to meet some very friendly Jersey cows during your stay, as well as a lot of native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and birds. We operate three Hipcamp sites and two different locations on the property. Mountain Camp is a single site and offers complete seclusion and privacy, while River Camp is a double site and offers views across the valley whilst only being metres from the river. Both locations have composting toilets. We cater for small groups who are seeking a quiet, peaceful escape. Our sites are small and are capped at 6 people each, per night. To reduce traffic and out of respect to our neighbours, there is a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per site. One additional vehicle per site can be organised, however we need at least 72 hours notice.

The Mountain Camp site is exclusive to one small group only. It is located on a secluded grassy knoll surrounded by native trees, with views up into the mountains of Wadbilliga National Park. The campsite consists of a fenced area approximately 30x40m with a shelter/camp kitchen, as well as a composting toilet nearby. There is a designated camp fire position but otherwise, pitch tents or park vehicles where ever is most convenient within the fenced area. The top of the knoll provides the flattest positions. Be aware there is a lot of wildlife around, so be cautious about securing food. Please do not feed any animals! This will do more harm than good unfortunately. The property is a working cattle farm so you're likely to meet some very friendly Jersey cows during your stay. For this reason please leave all gates as you find them and use caution when driving to and from the site. If a gate is shut, it is very important that it remains shut! Guests should be fully self contained with their own shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. There is a composting toilet, however campers must supply their own toilet paper. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. There is generally some firewood available, however we ask campers to bring their own if possible. We discourage collecting firewood on the property due to safety reasons. The river is approximately 350m walk from the campsite (just note that the swimming area is a public place and not private property). Also note that to access the river, you’ll need to cross (climb through) one fence line. You are welcome to explore and walk around the property during your stay, with a farm map and suggested walks located in the toilet shelter. The paddock which contains Mountain Camp is approximately 145 acres of cleared land and bush - there is a lot of wildlife to see! Pets are allowed on leash. You’re welcome to let them off within the enclosure, just be aware the fences are built to keep cattle out - not keep pets in! We are allowed to operate the site with 6 guests and importantly, a maximum of two vehicles per night. A third vehicle may be brought in with at least 72 hours notice so we can inform our very understanding neighbours.

I loved camping at Roa. It was so peaceful and relaxing. It was wonderful hearing the sound of the Yowrie river running. The lean to was fantastic and great for setting up my camp kitchen. I really appreciated the track to river being mowed and well signed posted.

Was a great spot for the weekend! Such a secluded spot and the river was beautiful and clear. There was a toilet on site which was handy and the host even supplied us with wood for the fire. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick getaway in a peaceful spot.

Loved camping here! The most stunning location right next to a crystal clear creek. The toilet was nice and clean. Really peaceful location and very friendly owners. Our dogs loved exploring the farm and meeting the friendly jersey cows!

River Camp - Site 1
We had a great long weekend staying on both sites 1 and 2 which made for a great space for 2 families with 2 camper trailers, swags, tents and a dog (just a note that there’s not a lot of privacy between the 2 sites if you’re staying on an individual site). Sites were mown and toilet was clean and a welcome amenity. The river was gorgeous, a couple of swimming holes that were so refreshing on a hot day and only a short walk from camp although the path was quite overgrown so be wary of snakes! A 15 minute drive into Cobargo for a pub meal and ice cold beer. All in all an excellent stay, thank you!

Balm for the soul

There is something soul enriching about staying somewhere like Roagumba, as soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. It was hot, the flies were thick but a short walk down to the river, across the paddock where the cicadas sung in unison was balm for our sweaty souls. The water was so refreshing, with multiple small pools, waterfalls and rock waterslides as well as a rope swing there were endless options to cool off and relax. The view across to the mountain peaks of Wadbilliga national park were ever changing, with moody skies and rolls of thunder. Come evening the fire was lit, marshmallows were toasted and outdoor showers (we have our own hot tap) were had. The shelter and the composting toilet were luxuries. Being in complete solitude was heaven, but still close enough for day trips to Bermagui and surrounds. The local town of Cobargo was beautiful, we enjoyed the note delicious pies at the bakery, mugs of chai at the valiant coffee van at the local park and the laundromat at the pub came in handy too. We loved our time here, as did our two small children and our four legged friend, who loved being left off the leash in the fenced camp area. I’ve already recommended Mountain View camp to quite a few people.

What a spot. The views are so good from this camp site. There was plenty of space to set up all our gear and still heaps of room for the dog to run around. The river is fantastic. Perfectly clear water to have a refreshing dip in and just listen to the water rolling down over the rocks. The drop toilet is also a perfect addition to this site and also boasts great views of its own. The drive from Cobargo makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but there are so many great places to visit under an hour away. We used this place as a base to visit heaps of the south coast. Was 49 minutes to Bermagui, an hour to Bega and Narooma, 1 hour 20 to Merimbula and about 1 hour 40 to Eden.

This place is magic… especially if you’re in need of a break from the daily grind or if you have a pup who’s anxious around other dogs. We had an incredible break, the site was perfect with beautiful views and the river access made the whole experience unforgettable. We really didn’t want to leave.

Awesome spot to camp. The view was amazing and the river is absolutely beautiful. The shelter is great to set up a little kitchen and the directions were spot on. The most peaceful stay. We didn't see another soul around, and the setting was beautiful. We had dogs with us and were able to let them run around in the fenced area and tether them when the cows became a little too interested in us! Probably not great if your dogs are a flight risk, as they can get through the fence. The creek/river was superb. Great way to feel refreshed in the morning with our coffee and a swim. Lovely lovely spot. Thank you!

What a stay! Great camp spot with some friendly jersey cows and amazing views. Short walk to amazing spot by the Yowrie river - kids loved swinging on the rope. Great launching pad to Bermagui and surrounding amazing beaches. We will be back!

Possibly one of the best camps I’ve ever stayed at! The views are amazing. We went in the dead of winter and while the temperatures were cool, the site made it all worth it. Clear directions to the site and it is fenced off with a little shelter which was great to set up our kitchen area in. The access to the river is an amazing bonus and perfect for those who enjoy a polar plunge. The local small towns are great to explore. Heaps of wildlife to see, with a wombat sighting being a pretty good highlight! Will definitely be returning!

Amazing spot to camp, very private and has excellent directions and communication from the host. The river was beautiful and our dogs loved lazing in the sun at camp. We loved it so much we ended up booking an extra night. Will definitely be back. 🙂

We had such a great time camping - loved the privacy, surrounded by rolling hills and wildlife. Directions were perfect, and we found the site with no problems. Cobargo is close for supplies, which came in handy. Kids loved the creek!

Such a beautiful peaceful spot, we loved it! Can be hard to find quiet and seclusion but this site was wonderful. Simons directions were great and the hidden gem of the river was amazing. Site so well positioned and easy to access with fire pit and some shade adding just enough to the site to keep it natural. The toilet was far enough away to not be in view but totally functional. Our dog was very happy and had a great time. Definitely will be back it was so relaxing, thank you

Wow... what a gem of a spot! Very private campsite with fabulous mountain views, clean toilet, great addition of the lean-to for extra shade, campsite was mowed and very clean and the river was truly spectacular for swimming! This campsite far exceeded our expectations for the price. Directions were easy to follow and grass on walking paths slashed for easy access. Simon was very responsive to messages and we felt very welcome to share Simon and Dee's slice of paradise.
