Escape to serenity at Rainforest Gateway. Relax and unwind to the gentle murmur of the creek, go for a paddle, take a hike or simply put your feet up and enjoy a crackling campfire under a sky bursting with stars. With great views, tranquil bushland, abundant wildlife and the stunning Border Ranges National Park close by, there is always something to do. The park is nestled alongside the everflowing Gradys Creek and features large, easily accessed, grassy powered and unpowered sites overlooking the creek. For those after more of a glamping experience, there are 3 x one bedroom cabins available. On-site amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, fully equipped camp kitchen with a large undercover area (perfect for large groups or private functions), and a laundry. We are a dog-friendly park so the whole family is welcome. Dogs need to be controlled at all times and cleaned up after. No aggressive dogs please. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred). Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available. Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd. Check in is strictly between 2 - 5pm. Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. Lovely hosts, and facilities are great. We visited as a group of 2 motorhomes and a caravan and stayed on the Platypus powered sites. Well cared for property and we enjoyed cooling off in Grady’s Creek which is flowing.

Beautiful spot. Extremely well maintained, clean and tidy. Lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Great facilities, camp kitchen and amenities. Huge undercover living/entertaining area with lounges dining tables and fire pit adjoining open plan kitchen. Lots of swimming holes along the creek suitable for all ages. One of the best places I've camped at for a long time. Wish we could of stayed longer. Thank you.

We had a great time staying at Rainforest Gateway. The creek experience was the highlight of our trip… loved the mini rapids and location of our campsite, chilling in the shade next to the creek. Our dog enjoyed cooking in the water was also a bonus. Management was super helpful. We definitely would come back again.

Gorgeous part of the world. Well kept camping grounds with hotshowers and toilets near the camp kitchen. Camp kitchen was immaculate with microwave, kettle, washing facilities, cooktop and castiron over the fire, along with a lounge space and plenty of board games for the kids. Small hill from the powered camping which was also a minute stroll down to the creek.

We stayed at Rainforest Gateway in NSW as a group over New Year’s Eve and unfortunately had a very upsetting experience. Shortly after midnight on NYE (12:07 to be exact), the owner came storming into our campsite and turned our music off himself without any warning at all. We gladly would have turned it off, if he had spoken to us respectfully, however, he immediately began yelling at us in a very aggressive and belittling way. He told us there had been multiple complaints, said we were the worst guests they had ever had, and then made an extremely serious accusation. He claimed that men in our group had exposed themselves to young children at the campground. This accusation was completely false and absolutely shocking. To accuse someone of behaviour like this, which implies paedophilia, is incredibly serious and damaging. It came completely out of nowhere and left our entire group stunned. The next morning, we spoke to his wife who was very apologetic. She told us that he had confused us with another group and confirmed that there had not been a single complaint made about us. She also said we had been respectful and pleasant guests. Despite the seriousness of what had been said, the owner never came to apologise or acknowledge his mistake for the rest of our stay. Being falsely accused of something so serious, without any acknowledgement or apology at all, unfortunately made this a place we would never return to.

Unfortunately the sites were really close to the other sites and we didn't feel like it was private at all.. the rules say "dogs on leash" but we had sooo many dogs roaming into our site. It didn't feel very welcoming when we checked in and asked a few questions. It just seemed like we were annoying them. We stayed for 3 days and for 2 of the days they had multiple mowers running around our site (very close) and the 3rd day they had a mulcher and weed eater running all day again near our site. We understand lawn care needs to be done but I thought they would do it a few days apart. We would of understood one full day of lawn care but it was 3 days of loud machinery right next to our site. Absolutely do not recommend.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We camped with friends and then stayed on by ourselves for a couple of nights. It was lovely. The campground was beautiful. The kids loved riding their bikes and swimming and playing in the creek. Apart from our kids it was very peaceful. The grounds were meticulously maintained and the amenities were spotless. Janine is a lovely host and her dogs are super friendly.

We had a lovely weekend but we paid for a water and power site - however the power and water were over 50m away from our site so we didn't have an extra power cord or water hose to meet those extras we paid for ... and we weren't offered a discount for an unpowered site ... very dissapointed

Rainforest Gateway is a beautiful location and we had such a special time here. It’s not too crowded, well-kept amenities, friendly care takers, not too far away from Kyogle for supplies, lovely stream to cool off and so close to the magnificent Border Rangers NP. Thank you for having us, we can’t wait to visit again!

Rain Forest Gateway is a beautifully set out camp site with plenty of nature care and pride put into the place. Close to Boarder Rangers National Park which has plenty of walking trails and look out points (mostly mental road) Peter, Jannine and camp staff are awesome Viki was on when we stayed, she was so helpful, making sure our firewood is stocked up, and we were happy with everything, BIG camp kitchen, showers and flushing toilets all kept very clean. Absolutely enjoyed our time here and will be back again soon. Highly recommend this camp site to anyone.

We adored staying at Rainforest Gateway. The location is relaxing and spectacular with a wonderful running creek. It was however quite busy but we were not on top of each other during the Christmas period. There is no real individual water hookup just to let people know. This is a pet friendly park and were however disappointed in some owners allowing their dogs to wonder around and do their business wherever they liked without picking it up. Wonderful for families and we will go back again.

The site is next to a train line; however, don’t be put off, there is only an occasional train. It is a very quiet location with plenty of room and lots of bird life around the creek, which was a great place to chill and have a swim. The toilets and showers were always clean, the camp kitchen is very well set up and has a great area to relax. We would 100% go back. Thanks Peter and Jannine.

One of the most incredible & welcoming campsite’s I have ever been fortunate enough to find. The owners & the groundskeeper (Frank) are so incredibly kind & accommodating! Such a beautiful space for big celebrations or even a pit stop along the way to your destination. I can’t wait to come back :)

A beautiful spot above a little flowing creek. Nice and flat with some shady areas. Shower/toilet not too far away. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and communal area where you can relax and charge phones etc. The lovely lady filling in for Peter and Jannine (sorry, I didn't get your name!) was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Both myself and my dog felt very welcome and comfortable. I would definitely stay again :-)

Beautiful place to camp facilities were very clean, beautiful big well kept grassy camp spots, pet friendly, there is a cool lil shop about 10 -20min out called Wiangaree General Store that has nearly everything from tent pegs to pork chops so handy if need to stock up, Rainforest Retreat sell fire wood and ice which was handy for the esky and the fire pit,

Janine was super friendly and accomodating. The place is beautiful, it has large flat sites and I think is a very reasonable price for power and water. Quiet mid week with just two other campers there. Trains do go past across the road through the night, but I just shut my window on that side and it didn't bother me.
