Escape to serenity at Rainforest Gateway. Relax and unwind to the gentle murmur of the creek, go for a paddle, take a hike or simply put your feet up and enjoy a crackling campfire under a sky bursting with stars. With great views, tranquil bushland, abundant wildlife and the stunning Border Ranges National Park close by, there is always something to do. The park is nestled alongside the everflowing Gradys Creek and features large, easily accessed, grassy powered and unpowered sites overlooking the creek. For those after more of a glamping experience, there are 3 x one bedroom cabins available. On-site amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, fully equipped camp kitchen with a large undercover area (perfect for large groups or private functions), and a laundry. We are a dog-friendly park so the whole family is welcome. Dogs need to be controlled at all times and cleaned up after. No aggressive dogs please. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits only and may be subject to fire bans. Firewood and ice are available for purchase (cash preferred). Recycling bins are provided, otherwise campers are required to take their rubbish with them. Wi-Fi and Telstra coverage are available. Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away. Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs, however, we CAN still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way. The road closure is another 10+ klms further down the road. Overall we had a lovely stay for one night, although we were planning kn staying longer. The hosts Janine and Peter were great and made us feel wellcome at their awesome property by the creek. The camp kitchen is excellent , lots of tables and seats, plenty of bench spaces ,a small fridge and cooking equipment to use. The bathrooms and showers were clean and close by to the cabin we stayed in, which had a queen bed as well as a small fridge and microwave. Unfortunately we did not realise that there is a train line close by and while we were enjoying sitting by the fire after dinner a train rattled through the bushland and continued regulary all through the night waking us from our sleep, so it was rather dissapointing after thinking we had found a tranquil place to relax. Perhaps camping further from the road down by the creek woud be the better option.

This is one of the nicest camp grounds we have ever been too. Flat, level sites. Amenities are clean and well kept. The common area and camp kitchen is a highlight. Hosts: Peter and Jannine are extremely accommodating and super friendly. The creek is beautiful. Its a magical place with the birdlife & fireflies at the right time of the year!

Beautiful spot and so close to Brisbane. Great base to birdwatch from with so many national parks nearby. Slept so well with the sound of the creek just below our tent

Location awesome on running river. Shallow in parts few deeper sections. Plenty of turtles, eels and fish. Don’t bother you whilst swimming. Beautiful manicured large grass flat area some with power and water but be sure to take extra long hose and electrical cord. You can locate close to edge of rubber but need longer cord. Great for kicking a footy and frisbees. Creek is down an embankment and not accessible from most sites, just have to walk down to certain places. Awesome big camp kitchen with everything, only thing sad to say is very very small fridge for size of place and kitchen. Facilities old but spotless located behind cabins. Cabins I think don’t have own bathrooms. Yes 20 mins out of town but the drive to town is worth it as just beautiful hills and great rd. Train runs past a couple of times per day and only for 15 secs and enjoyed seeing but only a glimpse through the trees. Not noisy at all. Town is plenty big enough, had all and 3 op shops too. Last Saturday of month a great wellness market. Different things to see and a tad up town was a small farmers market. That may be every Saturday. Overall highly recommend.

Me and my partner had a lovely stay with our van! If you are birdlovers like us, you’re in the right place, what a treat! Also saw beautiful cicadas, frogs, lizards. Toilets/showers were kept very clean. There is a train that comes by sporadically but did not bother us at all, don’t let it keep you from booking a stay. We already miss the dogs! :-)

The property is in a beautiful remote location with large areas, power and water and a beautiful creek which was the perfect for our group’s happy hour. The camp kitchen area provided everything needed for us (8 adults) for a long lazy brunch and a game of cards. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

Paradise! A beautiful camp ground with all the trimmings not usually found in a rural setting as well as fabulous hosts to make this an amazing stay. Highly recommended.

A beautifully maintained property with all sites grassed and overlooking the little creek down below.. Heaps of birds along with the frogs that begin their chorus at dusk. Great main public area with comfortable seating and a well stocked camp kitchen. Clean amenities and crystal clean filtered water for showers etc. As lovely as this all is if you’re a light sleeper this is not the place for you. It’s right on the train track with trains that run through the whole night. Otherwise it’s a great spot.

This place is extraordinary. The owners are absolutely beautiful people, so kind and accomodating. The creek is absolutely stunning. Amenities are fantastic. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and we will FOR SURE be back!

Really friendly owners. Nice spacious plots - 2 families were able to share the one plot easily and still lots of space. Great views of the creek. Really good, clean facilities. Allow dogs and campfires too. What more do you need? Will definitely be back.

Such a beautiful property by the creek. We relaxed, swam, paddled, and chilled out. An excellent location for exploring Kyogle region and the Border Ranges National Park as well. Could have stayed longer than our week for sure! Thanks Jannine and Peter for your hospitality.

Overall we had a great time. Beautiful grassed areas and the creek was a little cold but also lovely. Its was busy but not over crowded. The facilities were clean and well kepted. Hosts very friendly as well as their dogs. Was very relaxing. The only down fall was the train tracks. Trains ran in the middle of the night 4 of them and 1 set his horn off, scared all of us.

Absolutely perfect spot very clean and well maintained. The amenities are great and the hosts are so welcoming and absolute pleasure to stay. We absolutely loved this caravan/camping area, it’s set in a stunning part of NSW. The hosts work extremely hard to keep their property clean, tidy and welcoming. The camp kitchen area is huge, well appointed and spotless. We highly recommend people call them directly to see if there is an available spot as they told us people don’t always turn up so they will slot you in. We will definitely be returning to relax. Short drive to Kyogle(23min) if you’ve forgotten something important.

It's genuinely beautiful, cute stream, even the train adds to the charm. Jannine was warm and welcoming, and the caretaker Adrian was as genuine and sweet as you could ever ask.

This was such a beautiful campsite, the owners were lovely and had the sweetest dogs. They had so many amenities compared to the usual places we’d go camping. A kitchen full with pretty much anything you could need, hot showers, toilets and a really nice communal area with board games and outlets to charge up devices. The owners also sold firewood and ice for a good price and had kayaks to hire. The campsites had really nice views of the creek and were spaced apart from each other, the whole area was well maintained, the bathrooms were very clean! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

What a lovely campground! We spent a long August weekend there, large grassy area with mountain views on a stream where the dogs and kids played wild. Janine was the kindest host, the amenities where excellent and well maintained. Great spot for families IMO. We shall definitely return for a longer stay. PS - kids still complaining they haven't seen the platipus 🤣😉

Peter and Jannine's property had everything to on offer. Fire pits ready to go, river strolls and a camp kitchen/sitting area close by. The only couple of down falls would be that the toilets were a fair walk away if you weren't fully self contained. Although they were a little bit away, they were still always clean and the showers were also nice!! The last down fall and i guess the main one was that the ad said that dogs were welcome but always had to be on leash, but there were 3 dogs on the property (I'm guessing that belonged to them) that werw able to roam free and enter your camping area where your dogs were leashed "at all times". One of the dogs also did his business on the tyre of the car which thwn also led to our dogs doing the same thing to mark their territory. Other than the above, the area was clean and tidy and really quiet. Thanks for the lovely stay.
