Private with huge amount of open green space surrounded by bushland with the beautiful Orara River right there. Its only 15 km or so out of Grafton but feels so secluded and peaceful. It's a great location to base yourself for canoing and kayaking trips on the river. Craig is a wonderful host who communicates quickly. Can't wait to go back!

Breathtaking! As you drive in, you can see how well the property is maintained. You have many spots to choose from to set up. It's a short walk or drive down to the river from the main camping areas. We loved our stay with the family (couple of set ups) and kids. It's one of those spots you wouldnt tell too many people about. We will be back!

One of the best camps we've been to so far. Prompt with getting back answering mine & daughters questions. Property is very private we were the only 1s which was just what we wanted with our BorderCollies 1 can get reactive. I even caught a bream. Looking forward to returning again in the future.

Amazing time away. The place was dead quiet and beyond peaceful. My dog and I loved every moment. Especially swimming in the Orara River and having a big campfire at night. 10/10

Under the stars with a fire going was a great way to finish a day and the fireflies were wonderful glowing in the bushes. What a treat. Would Definitely recommend to anyone.

What an unreal beautiful spot! Extremely well maintained and so many different spots to choose from to set up camp! Ohhhh and the little beach area on the river is unreal! We loved it and our 3 dogs had the best time! If you have a chainsaw there is so much wood to choose from and there was already wood ready beside the fire pit. Host is quick to communicate too. We will most definitely be back!

This property is absolutely beautiful -- remote, peaceful, and wonderfully quiet. We stayed one night with our dog and had the whole place to ourselves, which made it feel extra special.
With recent rains, I was concerned that the dirt road in and the campsite may be wet however that was not the case at all. The property is obviously well drained and was completely dry! The access dirt road in is extremely well maintained. It leads to a huge, open lawn area with plenty of space and choice for setting up camp. We pitched on the rise, which gave us the full westerly afternoon sun and a stunning sunset -- just magic.
Craig was an excellent host: very communicative, responsive and provided clear, simple instructions for making the most of his property.
Highly recommended -- we'll definitely be back!

We loved our stay here… an escape from civilisation! Other than one boat passing by on the river, the only sounds we heard were the birds, the breeze and the crackling of the camp fire. Even our dog was more relaxed than we’ve ever seen him.
The site was easy to find and beautifully maintained.
We can’t wait to book another visit 🏕️

Plenty of dead wood for a fire and extremely well maintained camp area easy drive in and out with plenty of level spots to park up for the night or the week! Will be back

This is a lovely spot. Winter solstice camp and still able to swim. Dogs loved it. bonus lemon tree full of fresh juicy lemons. Beautiful big starry sky.

Incredible place! Easy to access, we had it to ourselves and we enjoyed every minute. Our boys got the full Emerson in nature and camping and being free! Definitely would recommend.

I stayed here for a long weekend with my 2 dogs and I can honestly say it’s one of my new favourite hipcamps to stay at. It is an extremely large space with so many private tracks to the river. The grounds were kept immaculate even despite the recent floods and the dogs didn’t mind about murky water. Will absolutely recommend and be back.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Private River Camp.
A great secluded camp all to yourselves, we would have loved to stay longer.
So much open space which was well maintained where you can set up. There is a beautiful sandy beach area to access the river. Great for Fishing and water activities.

Directions were very easy. We didn't see another human being for 3 days and loved it! Have not felt so removed from civilisation. The views of nature's wonders whilst kayaking up the river were beautiful.
The river was murky and not good for swimming at the time because of rainfall, so we just kept cool dipping in at the waters edge.

Directions to the property were easy to follow. We had an amazing weekend camping with friends and had the entire place to ourselves. Beautiful property, welcoming, manicured, easy drive to the campground. The campground was spacious and very clean. We loved our stay.

Another great stay at Private River Camp. The use of the kayaks was a big hit with the kids. Caught plenty of cat fish and spotted heaps of turtles while paddle boarding. The kids swam several times each day. A previous review mentions dingos. We can confirm there was no signs of any dingos, only the odd kangaroo. I went running several times around the property and nothing but a few kangaroos. Our dog has a good nose on her too and she would have known if there were other dogs around.
We will be back again soon.
