A working almond farm on the banks of the Darling River in far west NSW, Outback Almonds was established in 1998. What began as a 3000 tree crop has evolved to 9000, with a selection of natural, blanched, slivered and chocolate coated almonds. We invite you to stay the night and indulge in one of our three Canvas Bell Tent by 'Glamping', or perhaps you'd prefer to stay at The Cottage. If you're just passing by, or looking for something a little different, book for a Long Lunch or Dinner under the stars*. If you're interested to see how an Almond farm works, harvest takes place from January to April, and is fascinating to many, as it is a relatively unique method of farming for much of Australia. And if it's a new space you're looking for to host your next special event or corporate function, we'd love to work with you! A working almond farm on the banks of the Darling River in far west NSW, Outback Almonds was established in 1998. Our Darling Vista Cottage allows you to sit, relax, kayak, fish and bird watch. Light the campfire, watch the sunset, and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Darling Barka River. If you're interested to see how an Almond farm works, harvest takes place from January to April, and is fascinating to many, as it is a relatively unique method of farming for much of Australia. Be sure to make note of Blossom time in early August, it is truly a magical time to visit. Take your stay to the next level and literally just turn up. Our simple yet adequate food + beverage options can be ordered at the time of booking. Hassle free, we’ll stock the fridge with fresh ingredients prior to your arrival. Recipe cards and essential cooking equipment will be included.

A working almond farm on the banks of the Darling River in far west NSW, Outback Almonds was established in 1998. What began as a 3000 tree crop has evolved to 9000, with a selection of natural, blanched, slivered, hot & spicy and chocolate coated almonds. We invite you to stay the night and indulge in one of our three Canvas Bell Tents by 'Glamping'. Set amongst nature, the large canvas bell tents are designed for an off grid experience, with modern decor, queen bed pillow top air mattress, fine quality linen, pillows + doona. Central amenities and outdoor kitchen.  Table + chairs, crockery, utensils + glassware are also included, as well as a picnic basket, esky, dustpan + broom.  An outdoor fire pit + wood pile is essential and comes complete with a camp oven, billy + utensils. A gas cooker is also provided.   Take your stay to the next level and literally just turn up. Our simple yet adequate food + beverage options can be ordered at the time of booking. Hassle free, we’ll stock the esky with fresh ingredients prior to your arrival*. Recipe cards and essential cooking equipment will be included. For a unique dining experience amongst the almonds please contact us directly. Outback Almonds is located on the Darling River Run route, a popular tourist drive, and nearby the World Heritage Listed Mungo National Park. The Wentworth township, where the Murray meets the Darling is 40km via bitumen, and offers fabulous boutique clothing and homeware stores, coffee, and great Country fare at any of the three pubs. Or simply stay put, fish, or relax with a good book. Outback Almonds will allow you to unplug and recharge. *Please allow 7 days notice for us to fulfill any additional food, beverage or picnic requests.  *Outback Almonds is a working almond farm and will continue to operate as such during your stay. January-February is a busy time for the almonds, with harvest quickly approaching. This means that whilst our accommodation is still available for booking, your stay may not be as tranquil as if you were to visit from April onwards. Scare guns are in operation January through to March.

Bird lovers should run, not walk, to this beautiful, tranquil spot. Friendly hosts, a level site on the banks of the Darling and lots of room to explore. What more could you need? Pink Cockatoos, Blue Bonnets, Mallee Ringnecks, Butcherbirds, Restless Flycatchers, Red-Capped Robins and so many more! No notes - just a lovely stay!

We loved our stay at Outback Almonds. We were on the Harriett site, on green grass!(watch for bindies though). We had 2 cars and caravans on the site. The toilet and shower next to this site were a great luxury, as was the long table and chairs in the covered platform area. The site was on the high side of the riverbank. A firepit also next to the site.The outlook was beautiful and quiet, we loved our stay, thank you.

Our site overlooking the tranquil Darling river, listening to the many different birds, spotting random sheep on both sides, watching the many amazing colours of the big sky at sunset was fantastic, the river provided a great relief as the endless summer rolled on by.

Outback Almonds is a fantastic spot, quiet, green grass, on the river and the basics with a shower and toilet. Tom & Tegan were fantastic. Great spot for kids.

We had a wonderful stay at Tegan’s and her families Almond farm! We stayed during the peek heat and it was lovely of Tegan and her family to check in on us! However our dogs were too busy loving the creek next to the camp site.

Lovely spot on the Darling River, within a working almond orchard but felt relaxed and spacious in the camping area. Clamping tents looked very nice for a future visit! Friendly and welcoming hosts. 360 degree views as advertised, beautiful river and we had a stunning sunset and full moon.

We loved the space away from everyone and everything! We had the place pretty much to ourselves the entire time, being able to spread out is one of our fave things about hipcamps!

A great outback location on a working farm. Kind hospitality from Tegan's family and learning a few facts about growing almonds. Having access to an outdoor kitchen and bathroom was a luxury in the bush. Camping on the bank of the Darling River under the stars was an amazing experience.

The views were sensational. Quiet spot with lots of lovely trees. Well set up for anyone who wants peace or for groups. It works for both. Amenities are clean and well appointed. The hosts are lovely and thoughtful.

Outback Almonds - Glamping
Outback Almonds was the perfect setting for a short break away from the busy world. Time stood still and the beautiful environment shone day and night. The tents and the attention to detail in them was more than what I expected. It was so comfortable and a very beautiful. It rained one of the nights during my stay but the tents were a warm and dry haven. All of the other facilities made staying off grid a breeze. The delivery of the breakfast basket was timely and also very generous in size. Being able to walk around the farm and see the almonds growing was interesting. Would visit again next time I’m in the area.

Outback Almonds was a beautiful little surprise. A great Glamping set up on the River. Teagan organised a beautiful dinner on the river which was a highlight. Has all the facilities you need for a Glamping experience. I would highly recommend.

I loved Outback Almond Farm. The tent was as seen in photos and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts Tegan and Tom are very friendly and personable. The area was teeming with bird life which was great. The facilities were clean. A relaxing stay.

It’s really nice weather to come here have a wonderful and cosy glamping experience surrounded by nature. Good location, quite & drive 1hr can get here from Mildura. Everything is all set up here, it’s good for the glamper. Really enjoyed the moments close to the trees, birds and the darling river. Also, we ordered a grazing board and wine, having chill time with family. Tegan & Thomas are nice & friendly to make sure our stay is comfortable!! Definitely wanna be back again!
