Mt Terrace is a 2500 acre property hidden in the Warrumbungle mountains, it supports a wide variety of animals and bush land to explore as well as creeks, waterfalls and its own mountain range. Surrounded by the Warrumbungle national park & Australia's only sky park, it has a lot to offer and explore. Enjoy piece and quiet with a selection of 3 camp sites to choose from, you'll have pleny of space and privacy.   Access is relatively easy you will not need a 4wd but low city cars are not suitable . Fires are permitted in designated areas and within season. Pets are allowed. All campers must have their own supplies and be self sufficient as we do not supply any amenities, camper trailers are welcome however we do not accept caravans at this stage. Come check us out!

Beautiful spot, slightly sloping, lots of shade available and trees for a hammock. Friendly, chill and helpful host. Lovely vista!

Two mates and I booked two nights at Jame’s place and we couldn’t recommend it more. James showed us to our site and gave us plenty of info about the property. The place was secluded and absolutely stunning. Great views of the Warrumbungles.

Do yourself a favor! Incredible property. James is a top bloke and onto a winner, he’s planning to upgrade the facilities for HipCampers so give him your support. I’ll definitely be coming back with doggo and doing some of the local hikes. Thanks again mate, good luck.

Solitude at the foothills of the Warrumbungles! A short drive off the bitumen & then a quick guided drive to your spot after reaching the house/farm. My reactive dog & I had complete space to ourselves with that beautiful view, just the sounds of the bush. The lack of reception is to be expected (for anyone needing it) yet I carry a PLB as I travel remotely, it wasn’t a bother. Stu (James’ Dad) was very helpful, the firewood lasted most of the night, I would definitely return & was easy to book with great, prompt communication.

Had an awesome stay! James was super responsive and helpful. The location is stunning, peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for camping with a fire going. Would definitely come back.

Monkey Rock Camp
James’ property is just stunning. Adjacent to Warrumbungles NP - speccy views, amazing bird life (at least a half dozen wedge-tails, emus… ) loads of kangaroos. Beautiful camp spot, so quiet, stars amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the National Park. Highly recommend- thank you James - Liz and Tom

What an incredible view, it changes with the light and cloud cover and you could watch it all day - if there wasn’t so many great walks and birdwatching to do! Thanks James and Stuart for your hospitality and sharing a very special and peaceful part of your amazing home. I can’t wait to visit again.

What a fantastic campsite! We stayed at One Night and the views were spectacular. We were so grateful to be able to see the Warrumbungle while travelling with our dog. The campsite was well maintained with stunning sunset views of the mountain! We had kangaroos visit from a distance. Stu (James Dad) was a fantastic host - showing us where to camp and a big supply of firewood - and some limes for my G&Ts! Highly recommend and would love to come back!

Monkey Rock Camp
Very secluded and visually stunning campsite on the SW border of the national park. Several of the key landmarks of the Warrumbungles can be seen from the campsite. Travel time to the visitor centre is about 40mins, the campsite is about 15mins drive from the front gate. Plenty of wild goats, kangaroos and wallabies to keep you company, but it is perfectly secluded. Host was excellent to communicate with.

Monkey Rock Camp
We stayed at Monkey Rock the first night. This site has a shelter and a toilet, which helped a lot because we arrived very late in the dark that night. We switched to Black wattle the next day. It is slightly bigger and the view of landscape is more open than Monkey Rock. We enjoyed both campsites and saw many wildlife throughout the stay. Kangaroos hoping around, Giant Wood Moth (the heaviest moth in the world) visiting us every night, many birds, goats and cattle on the farm. James and his family are super friendly and helpful too!

We had such a wonderful time staying here. The property is breathtakingly beautiful and you feel so secluded in your camp-site. It was more than we could have hoped for. So much wildlife and glowing mountains/ cliffs. Stuart was so lovely and helpful, and the cute energetic dogs were a big plus! We can't wait to come back with friends in tow next time. Thanks again for having us!

Beautiful location and the hosts were very accommodating. Put in some extra effort to find additional space for us over the Easter Weekend when everything else was booked out. Highly recommend.

Great location and once set up-about 35min drive to Warrumbungle’s. Towed in a 8.4M off road caravan-dusty road in and tight through some gates but no dramas. Host James was great!

We loved our stay at the Picnic Ground campsite. Such a friendly welcome and the site is spectacularly beautiful. The view of rhe Warrumbungles and the stars at night have to be seen to be believed. Glad we took the option of the firewood bundle.

This was the stand out camp site of our trip. It is in an amazing location and completely secluded. We loved being totally self sufficient in such a gorgeous location. The sky at night was just incredible. James was easy to deal with and Stuart (James' Dad) showed us where to camp and gave us a bag of limes (delicious with our G&Ts). Highly recommend.

Beautiful, secluded camp spot. James was very kind and knowledgeable. The track to the campsite was manageable in a 2wd Toyota Hiace, but a little treacherous. Absolutely worth the effort for the campsite!

We loved staying at Black Wattle! The views and camp site were amazing! It was a little hot, but the ability to cool off in the dam with some lovely native visitors was fantastic!

This was the best stay I’ve ever had. The property is secluded and private - despite having other campers on site we didn’t see anyone because the place is so huge. We were greeted by the host and his kelpie who showed us to our site. There is no reception and you have to be self sustaining at the picnic grounds, which was perfect for us. We took pool floaties and had a float in the dam which was a delight. 100000% would stay again.

We loved the location at Black Wattle, it was private and felt completely isolated which is exactly what we were looking for. The toilet and water on site were handy! The view from our campsite and the walking tracks along the property was breathtaking. We stayed in the height of summer, so there wasn’t much water about in the creeks or dams. The host was friendly and always up for a chat when we came across each other. It’s about 20 minutes to the closest town by car where you can get a nice pub lunch and some ice to top up the drinks esky, and it’s about an hour into Coonabarabran which is a larger town that has some shops and fuel. The warrumbungle national park is along the scenic route to Coonabarabran and is worth the trip to stop in and check out the lookouts and trails. We saw lots of birdlife, kangaroos, wallabies, wild goats and the residents cows and calves. We highly recommend staying here and would love to come back one day.
