Trevor and Loretta were one of the kindest and considerate hosts we have had the pleasure to meet.
The campsite was a hidden gem of tranquility as magical as its name. As lovers of nature and inner peace, this ticked all the boxes with the serene surroundings and clear skies for stargazing and meditation.
The campsite offers a variety of spots for pitching tents, each with its own unique view of the surrounding beauty. The best and most memorable experience though was the Art class by Loretta. It was akin to Art therapy as she embedded the connectedness to the land and love of her Aboriginal heritage in her teaching methods. She guides you to unlock your own emotions and develop a story behind your art work which to me, was both inspiring and restorative.
The peace we both felt will surely linger for a long long time and we will most surely be back!
Highly recommend the Art Class by Loretta!

I drove a 4 hour round trip to get to the property but no one was home despite making contact before I departed. I waited for an hour and tried calling and texting. Two days later I still haven't heard anything. I lost a whole day and a tank of fuel for nothing, pretty disappointed.

Beautiful campsite in a clearing surrounded by bush and wildlife, very close to great beaches including Bawley Beach. I loved watching the flying foxes from my campsite. My favorite part was the art class I touch with Loretta. I can’t recommend this class more highly - it’s an incredible opportunity to learn about country and history from an indigenous leader and storyteller.

We had a great time at Middle Earth.
Loved the fact there were only 3 camps there. Was so quiet.
A little steep, but we easily found an area to pitch.
The camp is close to beaches and Batemans Bay for supplies.
The East Lynne service station is a must stop for their apple / blue berry pies.
Other pies looked fanstastic as well.
The motor bike display was worth looking at.
LOTS of birdwatching and bush walking.
A couple of roos, wallabies and goannas made visits.
Definitely coming back

Middle Earth is a great spot to nestle down in. Loretta and Trev (not Keg 😜) are relaxed and welcoming, driven by a desire to share their place with others. Staying at Middle Earth was relaxing and refreshing.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at Loretta's property. We felt like we were in the heart of the forest, only a short drive to the South Coast, and were lucky to have it all to ourselves for the 4 days. There were lots of visits from kangaroos and wallabies and bountiful bird life.
Loretta and Trevor are wonderful, generous hosts and we especially enjoyed our art session with Loretta. Such a unique experience worth doing.
We highly recommend staying at Middle Earth. Thanks again Loretta and Trevor. Look forward to seeing you next time.

We had an amazing weekend on Loretta's land! The land and surrounding area is beautiful. It was perfect for the busy Easter weekend as it was so peaceful, but only a short drive to busier tourist areas and beautiful beaches. I also strongly recommend Loretta's art class! It was an honour to learn from such a talented artist and I really enjoyed learning new painting techniques. It's also perfect for all levels of painting experience.

We had a very peaceful stay at Middle Earth. Loretta and Trevor were gracious hosts, and really lovely to deal with.
The site is clean and open, although quite sloping in parts.
Would definitely recommend staying here :)

Had an amazing stay at middle earth!
It was hard to find in the beginning but once we found the spot it was smooth sailing from there. There’s a small hut near the fire pit which helped a lot in the rain, 15 mins from batemans bay which was handy. Dogs had a ball

t was so lovely staying at the middle earth cabin. We were surrounded by the abundant nature.
Staying at the cabin is also a beautiful way to feel groundedness and learn more about elder and custodians of the walbunja country. Loretta was not here during our stay but Trevor was an amazing and knowledgeable host who gave us a tour of the forest. We learned so much about the fauna and flora of the region and how the forest did to regenerate from the ashes of the massive bushfires 3 years ago.

A lovely tranquil location, with lots of birds. Good access to Murramarang National Park. The camping location is quite sloped - it can be a challenge to find a good tent spot. Must provide your own toilet (except during peak summer season).

It bucketed down for most of the weekend including when we arrived. Thank goodness for Barney's LeanTo, it was a godsend and a wonderful place to shelter. Be aware that overnight condensation may make it drip inside as much as outside (well it did with 100% humidity anyway).
Loretta as an absolute treasure, a wonderful human being and artist (who holds classes which we're going to avail ourselves of next time we stay) . Her husband Trevor is the perfect foil for her and together they made us feel very welcome.
The area is open enough for dozens of people and there was heaps of firewood available (we paid for some).
East Lynne store is five minutes away for cappuccinos and pies and a squizz at the vintage motorcycles.

Middle Earth Cabin
From the moment we arrived it felt like home being at Loretta and Trevor's place. We had such a warm welcoming whilst being shown around their beautiful home.
My family and I loved spending time chatting with them both as we were taught traditional dot painting around the fire and spent time getting to know them.
Their beautiful cabin had everything we needed for our stay and the fireplace kept us warm throughout the night. They are located a short drive to beautiful beaches and batemans bay is just a little further down the road for all supplies needed for your stay.
Although our stay was short, we will be looking forward to coming back many times in the future. Thank you both again for looking after us and showing us such a wonderful time.

We had a truly wonderful stay here.
Loretta and Trevor were perfect hosts- very friendly, interesting and hospitable people. It was great to get to know them.
The cabin is in an idyllic, beautiful spot.
The cabin is very comfortable, clean and has all amenities.
We did the aboriginal art workshop and it was one of the best things on our 5 week road trip. Very enriching and enjoyable.

Our family enjoyed the cabin. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean and it had a big bathroom. The view from the window of the beautiful bush. There is a 1 kilometre walking track and you can get into the bush and learn how the bush recovered from the fires. Our host, Loretta, is such a kind and talented person. Our whole family attended the aboriginal art workshop and enjoyed it very much. In the end the results were amazing. This is one thing that we strongly recommend to everyone to book an art workshop with Loretta. During our stay Loretta also introduced as to aboriginal history and language and it was such a lovely experience talking to an elder and learning so much. This connected us to country. The cabin house is also only 20 minutes from some of the beautiful beaches such as Durras North, South Durras, and long beach. We will definitely visit Middle Earth again.

We love this campsite. Quiet and private. Loretta was very warm and welcoming. She made sure we had everything we needed. There was plenty of good firewood and even a bonus portaloo that we did not expect. The bush on her property is very quickly recovering from the black summer fires and it is fascinating to see it regenerating. We loved seeing how the birds and other wildlife are returning and learning about the land from our hosts. Middle Earth is very special and so are Loretta and her partner.
