Big rig-friendly
Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
Our beautiful property is located near Inverell, featuring 1,850 acres of gently sloping farmland edged by mountains with beautiful eucalyptus bush. There is a big dam and yabbies in the creek. We have a range of fruit trees which you are welcome to help yourself to fruit when in season. Farm Rules - clean up after yourself - The hut and the yard up on the hill are out of bound. - Fishing is welcome however we run a catch and release. - Shut the gates when passing through. - Dogs are welcome but must be under control/on lead as we do run cattle on the property. - No hunting. - Fires are welcome but must be contained and kept under control. Activity's - Being a kayak or something to float around on. - Bring your metal detectors - Horses are welcome with the addition cost. Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley. - Fishing (catch and release) - Yabbies (welcome to eat what you catch). - Panning in the creek for gems. - hike Sites - we run a undesignated system meaning you can set up and camp anywhere you would like however some ideas below. Anywhere around the dam You have an option to camp at the shed where there is a generator for power (lighting) and toilet amenities. This area is generally flat and can accommodate any type of camping vehicle. There is a shed to provide shelter for your food prep etc. There is a sink under the awning but you will need to carry water in a container to wash dishes. Outside there is wood-burning BBQ the camping paddock is fully fenced in . For 4WD enthusiasts, there are good camping spots at the top of the mountain ridge however need to be self contained eg toilet. You will need to bring your own fresh drinking water supply and unleaded fuel to run the water pump and generator. We have secure cattle yards as a holding space if holidaying with your horses (please see Extras for horse facility fees). Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley and relax in front of the campfire by night. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Old farmland vibes 🤠

The site itself AMAZING! Off grid as much as you want to be, and old school farming vibes, so know how to operate pumps and gennys if you want to use the toilet or lights. Some previous campers left a bit of a mess in the fire pit with broken glass etc which is a shame, so we used our own. We would be there every weekend if it was closer! The signage from the neighbours was a little daunting, big yellow trespassing gates you had to drive through - was hoping google maps had us on the right path - but would have been good to have the heads up 😅 The host was unresponsive our whole visit and while there was a lock box available for the keys, we had to wait around for the local pub to open to return the keys to be on our way to our next destination due to no communication, which we are hoping was just bad timing. Overall would love to revisit if back in the area and stay much longer - was such a peaceful and fun animal safari drive in - wild deer, fox, birds, kangaroos and of course cattle everywhere - stunning outback farmland 😍

We were actually very surprised by this site! We loved it more than we imagined. Loved kayaking in the dam, plenty of space, awesome for having a hike around.

Absolutely perfect spot. Awesome dam, the kids swam and played on the paddle board all day long. A couple of other campers across the dam and down at sheds but still felt like no one else was around. Hosts were friendly, down to earth people. We can’t wait to come back.

Meridale Acres is a beautiful property! Perfect for our little family camping trip. We stayed on the dam and our children had lots of fun kayaking to the island and even caught a couple of fish. Plenty of fire wood provided and the host Sabrina was friendly and very helpful making sure we were settled for our stay. We had a wonderful time exploring the hills and scenery. Beautiful sunsets, warm days and cool nights! Couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you Sabrina for sharing this lovely property with our family.

Peace and quiet

Lovely location, absolute peace and quiet, free from technology which was great (no service). Dam was beautiful, lots of bird life and inquisitive cattle. Beautiful valley views with just a short walk up the hill. Lots of firewood available. Facilities are basic, no problems if you are self sufficient. Dogs had a great time.

The farm is very beautiful and we all enjoyed wandering around the rocky property. The dogs especially liked playing along the shore of the dam. The fenced in paddock was very helpful to keep them contained as well as these city dogs aren't super used to cows yet. Some additional signage to make it clear where to access the paddock would be great, as we were a little confused as to where to drive in once we arrived. It would also have been wonderful if the cows hadn't been in the paddock before we arrived as the dogs could not stop obsessing over the cow poop and we ended up clearing an area for them. I totally understand we booked very last minute and this was probably not possible. Glad we found a work around. Overall, really great play to camp for a couple of nights. The shelter kept us out of the sudden wind and rain storm as well.

Stunning for a longer stay

Camp was in a beautiful setting and completely peaceful. We were there alone and thankful for the trust of the owner's to allow us to experience their stunning property. Unfortunately we arrived later in day and may have not been the best choice for an overnight stop due to the proximity into the property from town. Definitely a great spot if you are staying for a few days to enjoy all that it has to offer. We left early next morning before pub opened to hand over keys so a little bit of time wasted trying to look for a safe place to leave them. A lovely spot but more information would have been great to cover any concerns.

A quick middy at the very nice Bundarra Commercial Hotel before the 20mins to the campsite along a very good unsealed road crossing numerous cattle grids. The property is in a big, wide cattle grazing valley with a dam the size of a small lake - from our site about 1/3 of the way up the hillside we were able to take in these beautiful views. Slight slope, but easily levelled with blocks. Walked up to the top for even better views. Enormous fire pit and we settled in to watch the sunset over the hills. Very peaceful and private. Visited by the grazing cows in the morning to the amusement of our pups.

Merridale farm was very nice. Camped on the edge of the dam. Great walk up the top of the hill, with an awesome view over the valley. Nice hosts too!

Nice grassy sites, dam good to swim and kayak in. Dog friendly. Flush toilet. Great views. Kids had fun catching yabbies in the creek. Sun ☀️ and 🌒 rise over the ridge spectacular.

Great place to stay. Lots of wood to burn and great camp fires for cooking and keeping warm. The dam was great for the kids to paddle around in with their kayaks and claim the “Island”.

Sublime remoteness
Merridale Acres
What an experience; sublime evening up on the hill overlooking the valley. Not another human in cooee and the silence was awe inspiring. A gentle breeze, just a tad more than a zephyr; cool and soft. We enjoyed a meal at the Bundarra pub in the eclectic “outdoor” dining area and the folks there were very helpful re directions. A pretty unique experience.

Unique Rustic Farmstay
Merridale Acres
We loved our week camping at Merridale Acres. The fenced camping area with various old farm sheds and flushing toilet were great. We made good use of the quirky little shed to cook in and for shelter from the sun, wind and the rain at various times. My "kids" (16-23 years) had a blast catching cray bobs in the creek with the nets provided and even caught a few fish in the dam. The site is flat and quite large with numerous fruit trees for shade, a firepit. Very peaceful with the exception of the occasional cows "mooing" and birds. The owner met us on arrival to make sure we knew how to use the generator and pump etc but left us to ourselves only coming to check again a few days later that all was well. We did find the property a little hard to find as I think the distance is probably more like 23kms from Bundarra. Very enjoyable stay. Thank you
