Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. Dogs permitted (see rules).

As the name suggests Riverbend is on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River with access to the water. It covers about 500m and is shaded by large gums and willows with a large sandbar. It has easy access to the river for swimming, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Great area for groups or individuals who just want to kick back and relax on the bank of the river.  No amenities self contained camping only. Karoola Lagoon is right on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, shaded by large gums & a rocky knob which gives the area privacy & afternoon shade.  Perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing, boating & fishing with dirt ramp access into the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. No amenities self-contained camping only.  Suited to swags, tents, camper trailer & caravans. Large enough area for group bookings. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Wonderful open area with plenty of options along the riverbend. Fishing difficult due to snags but we definitely gave it a good crack. Very steep decent down to river camping area. We had heavy caravan and luckily dry weather allowed us to get out ok. Also an awesome winery 🍷 2 mins away.

3rd visit to Karoola

3rd time visiting Karoola Station. This time we stayed at River Bend as the grass was too high at The Lagoon. There were 3 of us with caravans plenty of room and nice and peaceful spot. We had 4 dogs with us and they were pretty happy too!

It's a great spot BUT it needs to be maintained. Grass around camping areas were knee high even though we were warned about snakes. Also after a couple message's(over a 24 hour period) we had to call to get instructions to camp site. If your happy to take booking please maintain camp sites.

Property was beautiful. Access through the property was well sign posted. We stayed at the lagoon where there was slow moving water for the kids to play in and fast water for fishing and adult fishing. Be warned the GPS dot for the lagoon of used in Google maps will direct you to the north side of the river and the camp-site is on the south side of the river. All in all looking forward to camping here again with friends.

beautiful site. a real shame we didn't really get to see the lagoon as there was another couple with a large vehicle and quite a large trailer that spanned pretty much the whole perimeter surrounding the lagoon (they had set chairs and a smoker right next to their awning and took up all the flat ground and campfire space). would recommend booking all spots available on the site to prevent this from happening again.

Amazing spot! We stayed at the lagoon. Spots far enough away to not feel on top of other campers. Kids enjoyed playing in the sand from dried up river bed. Beautiful and green ! Be careful of the very large resident red belly black snake that seems to reside in the rocks along the river about 30m up from last site

Karoola Riverbend is a quiet, peaceful spot. The sites are fairly level and the campsites are spread out so we were not too close together. The hosts are lovely and the farm fresh eggs were amazing. I would definitely recommend this camp. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Nice camp right beside the magnificent Murrumbidgee with improved green pasture and rocky outcrop as views. Easy to find. Level sites and private even with other campers in vicinity.

What a great place to get away and relax by the river. Plenty of space and level with plenty of access to the river and walks. We loved our two nights, perfect weekend getaway. Thank you for sharing your property, it was so lovely.
