30 acres fenced off for Hip camp. other 40 acres fenced off for cattle. 6 private sites on or near sandy creek bed. Lots of bird life and views of the odd cow. Closest hip camp to Dubbo township and Zoo. 5 to 7 kms to Zoo and Town centre. 5 minute drive to the Zoo. 5kms to 27 hole golf course. 3 kms to Delroy Park Shopping centre. Some days you can hear the lions and monkeys from the zoo Lots of Kangaroos on site. Lots of Birdlife ( Eastern Rosellas , Grass Parrots, Willy Wag Tails, Kestrals , Currawongs, Quail , Kookaburras, Magpies , Blue wrens etc). Land was previously a sheep station but nature is slowly reclaiming it. We have been here six years and have seen hundreds of native trees come back through not overgrazing and fencing off bushland. Dry sandy creek bed (good for kids to explore) , except during floods. Lots of shady gumtrees. 2km grassy walk around fence line for those looking to exercise during their stay.

Site 6 is the only elevated site. It has good views of the property and adjoining acreages. It slightly sloping and has a good access with one small single tree and a fire pit. It would accommodate 2 average size caravans, with room to move around. Not as big as sites 2 or 3.

I found a space to be very relaxing home to a number of local kangaroos. All the campsites are very well maintained and easy access. I would recommend if looking for something very peaceful

Great spot, but unfortunately we just weren't equipped for it. Absolutely perfect for a campervan setup! We unfortunately only had only a tent with us, high winds, hard ground prevented us from securing the tent, and cats heads that pierced through the tent floor.

Great place to stay, we ended up staying 5 nights exploring the region. So close to town but you still feel like you're miles away. Sites are clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.

Well located and pleasant campsite close to town and zoo. Only negative is the nearby dog kennel which meant there was a lot of barking throughout the night.

Campsite was in a great location just outside of Dubbo with a short drive to attractions, shops and the zoo. Site was easy to find and easily accessible with our 2WD motorhome. Campsite area was quite large with plenty of room and level ground to setup.

Good location and close to town, wide open spaces with fire pit but VERY limited shade, grass very spiky underfoot and directions not clear. We were at camp 6.

Good spot just outside town (5 min). Cleared level site with easy access, kangaroos, good fire spot and plenty of space between sites. Dry creek bed is a good walk.

We loved the site, huge well kept areas with fire pits. Loved the kangaroos in the mornings. Close to Dubbo Zoo and town. We had an excellent stay… would highly recommend.

Great Stay

Lance’s place provided a fantastic base to explore Dubbo and its surrounds. You can even hear the Lions roar from the Zoo on a good day!! The sites are well set out and very spacious indeed, with all having their own fire pits. Most sites have some shade, and should also get some sunshine throughout the day. Site 6 up on the hill would have sun all day long. Kangaroo Creek really lives up to its name, with a large mob of Roos coming in each afternoon making it feel like a real bush getaway. Cheers Lance
