The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.We invite you to come and camp on our organic garlic farm. We invite you to come and camp on our organic garlic farm. Would recommend staying here. Such a unique, remote and welcoming experience. Thank you for the farmers son for showing us around and giving us recommendations for the local town. The farms dogs were a bonus :)

Great base camp to explore area. Fantastic views and sunsets. Michelle is very helpful and accommodating. The two dogs Daisy and Stephen are beautiful and great entertainment as was their little helper Oscar who was very informative and great to have a chat to.

Really nice campsite, nice views and quiet and peaceful. We arrived super late in the evening and had a lot of trouble finding the site (don’t be stupid like us) we also picked a weekend where we had torrential rain the whole 2 days. Even still, we enjoyed our stay and will be back again. The two farm dogs were really friendly and came and adopted us for the weekend. There’s some sheep, and chickens too! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet Michelle nor did we learn about the farm/ garlic etc - it was a cold miserable weekend so maybe next time when it’s pleasant we’ll get to do those things. Note: upon arrival through a brown gate, turn immediately left and follow the track to the campsite (we had major issues finding so thought I’d reiterate here)

Its a beautiful place to stay if you like remote camping. Very nice views and the bathroom/shower made things convenient. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. My daughter fell in love with the dogs.

Great place! Just a few minutes from the Blue Mountains. We chose this spot because we spent the morning exploring and wanted somewhere close to relax, watch the sunset, and unwind and it was perfect. We absolutely loved it. What I liked the most was the amount of space. The sites are very well spaced out, so you really get privacy. Each site has its own fire pit, and the hosts provide firewood, with the option to buy it from them or collect it yourself, which we thought was a fun little adventure. They also have the most beautiful and friendly dogs! Michelle was incredibly attentive and welcoming, never rushed us with timing, and we were lucky enough to try her homemade garlic scones and garlic jam from the farm, they were absolutely delicious. Even though the bathrooms are composting toilets (with sawdust), they were spotless and honestly felt hotel-level, with neatly folded towels and thoughtful amenities. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again!

We had a great time camping here. We loved the lookouts nearby and escaping the heat at the nearby Hyde Park Reserve Swimming Hole. The campsite had good facilities and amazing views of the sunset.

Cons: - Not really anywhere to go on the property unless you go in to bushland. I recommend having a set up whereby you can drive out of the property. - Sights are quite close to one another. Can easily hear multiple music playing which is frustrating. Pros: - Loving evening sunsets - Toilet and shower we really nice - Friendly and welcoming owners - Dogs are friendly although Daisy is young and can bark at you if she doesn't recognise you. I found this a little unsettling even though I'm great with dogs. As soon as she knew who I was, she was all soppy and waggy tailed. Just something to be aware of. - Plenty of wood to gather for a fire Overall, we had an ok camp.

Such a beautiful campsite. Very spacious and so into the mountains. We had a wonderful relaxing time during our Christmas break. Michelle wasn’t on site but she was on call on our arrival and she was so kind, made us feel so welcomed. And 2 dogs called Stephen & Daisy gave us the company and kept us safe during our stay. Love this place ❤️❤️❤️🌿🌿🌿

Our stay at Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was amazing. We turned up after a full day of adventuring and it was the perfect spot to just relax and take in the view. Michelle was such a generous host and made us feel really welcome. Even though there were other campers on the property, everyone had plenty of their own space and kept to themselves, so it still felt nice and private. The toilets were also great and kept really clean. If you’re into garlic, you have to stay here. Michelle let us try some from the farm and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. It tastes so real and raw compared to what you get at the shops. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back again.

Spent 2 nights tent camping at Michelle’s garlic farm, and had a wonderful time! Views were indeed stunning, and we really enjoyed having their 2 roving pups come round for a scratch and ball throw every now and then. The smell of garlic in the air in certain parts of the farm also tickled us very much! During sunset, kangaroos sometimes bound through the brush and can be seen from the campsite. Michelle and her partner are lovely and very helpful for any needs that might arise, we had a lovely chat with them and had a little impromptu tour of their garlic farm. Would absolutely recommend coming here for a little getaway.

It was refreshing and rewarding, it had beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and just the right amount of camping spots to feel secluded. A perfect escape into nature. Host was very friendly & we loved Stephen(friendly border Collie) who showed us the path to washroom at nights & escorted us back to our tents:) we loved the dogs!!

Stunning valley and mountain views from the campsite. Plenty of space between campers. Close to Lithgow if you need supplies. Peaceful place to relax.

Amazing sunset views! Lovely hosts! They explained how the garlic works and delivered us firewood :) 2 nice dogs escorted us to the campsite and kept us company at the fire pit. Would definitely recommend!

Great spot for tent camping with great views of the local landscape. Very peaceful and spacious campsite. There are a couple of very friendly dogs on site, so you will want to be ok with dogs (we are). Toilet/shower facilities are quite decent for a campsite. We'd come back again.

Great place. Not at all crowded despite us staying over a long weekend. Off-leash dog friendly, with canine host Stephen leading the way, and junior canine host Daisy was a delight. Wombats, wallabies, roos, black cockatoos plus amazing scenery all around. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
