We have CAMPSITES nestled in our Orchard or in the Pine Trees paddock, (with nearby amenities); or for more of a comfortable and unique stay, try our CHARMING, CONVERTED SCHOOL BUS! Fern Valley Ranch has it all- waterfall viewing, bush walks, animal feeding. Unwind; relax by the campfire with quiet cup of tea (or a beer). Leave the city behind and tune back in to the birdlife and whistle of the breeze among the tall trees. CAMPSITES- Max 5 campers (see Campsite Listing for number and type of dwellings allowed per site.) SCHOOL BUS- Max 4 guests (no pets)- can book separate bus campsites after booking Bus. SCHOOL BUS CAMPING- Get friends to camp next to you in the Bus. *** NO ENTERING ANY WATER ON THE PROPERTY, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU DO NOT RESPECT OUR RULES *** If you want to swim, there are beaches within half an hour from our farm. - We are just an hour between Sydney and Newcastle; and 15 minutes to Gosford. Do not write to us asking availability, you will miss out. * We open everyday during School Holidays, and Wed-Sun during school term. * We have 2 paddocks 1. ORCHARD (5 sites), 2. PINE TREES (6 sites), both are peaceful and private. No loud parties allowed. * Maximum 2 dogs/site and per paddock. First booked, first served. If we already have 4 dogs that weekend, you must book without your dogs. Message us to check. * ON 1 SITE, YOU MAY ONLY HAVE: A. One from this category- Caravan; Camper trailer; Motorhome; Family or multi-room tent; OR B. Two from this category- Small single-room-tent; OR C. Five from this category- Single swags; * Sites are allocated by us a few days before check-in. If you want to request a specific site or paddock, message us when you book. We try our best to fulfil requests. * Once you have booked minimum 4 sites, you can have one whole paddock to yourselves. * Sites are between 2-4 min walk to toilets, showers. * One car on the site is allowed. A second car can be parked in our carpark after offloading. When it isn't busy, the caretaker may let you park a second car on the site. * BYO Firewood or buy direct from our caretaker $15 for 20kg (cash). ⛺️🌳 INCLUDED FARM ACTIVITIES * Two Bush walks- through lush ferns and Gymea lilies (~30min and ~1.5hr) includes a picnic spots. * Paleesade Falls (10 metre high waterfall) - VIEWING ONLY. If doing either, you will be asked to leave and/or refused future bookings. * Animal feeding * Kids playground * Please do not come if you are experiencing COVID symptoms. I had a blast camping at Fern Valley. It was very easy to find, the location was awesome, I was in the Pines site and we had cows right up next to us. This site is very family friendly. The toilets and showers were very clean. Would certainly like to come back and would highly recommend to anyone else.

This is a great little property so close to Sydney, dog friendly, hot showers, animals, waterfalls and orchards. Highly recommend for a short break away.

Fern Valley Ranch is a great camp and wonderful experience for the kids. We were in our camper with swags and there was only 1 other family camping in the area. The sites are large and well maintained. The walk to the waterfall and the rock is about a half hour round trip. Perfect for the little ones. Ballyn (the caretaker) was extremely friendly making sure we were all happy and settled in. He even took our youngest to feed the chickens (which he loved). This place is great for family’s being close to Sydney with large open areas to run around and the shops etc are only 10mins away if required.

What a beautiful place! We stayed 3 nights with our 3yo and 7mo in a camper trailer. Loved our stay here and would definitely come back. The caretaker (Ballyn) was super friendly, available if we needed anything and happy to just have a chat. The grounds were really well maintained, with so much to see and do… horses to pat, chickens to feed, stunning waterfall on site. Even a small playground for kids (swings, seesaw, bounce bike). We saw frogs, a turtle, a python (on the waterfall walk - beware), bunnies, cows, sheep, kookaburras and more! Fire pits were perfect size and camp sites spread out well. Flushing toilets and showers were clean and modern, everything was just a short walk away. We had a sink and portaloo toilets next to our site too if needed. We even ventured outside the property to nearby waterfalls, all really accessible too! Thanks for a great few days Fern Valley Ranch! Wish we stayed longer!

We loved our stay at Fern Valley Ranch! The farmers were so lovely and welcoming. The tractor tour was a hit with the kids — they had a blast feeding the chickens, fish, and cows. The bush walk to the waterfall was amazing too. Such a great, relaxed spot for a family getaway!

We really enjoyed staying at the Fern Valley Ranch. The area is peaceful with plenty of things to do such as beautiful bushwalk within the property, farm animals, kids playground. Bathroom has hot shower and is kept clean. The firepit was also perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property !

Great spot to camp, really nice being near the orchard. Waterfall was amazing, didn’t expect it to be so nice. Little bush walk loop was great too. Kids loved the farm animals

Great little jem! Huge place, great host! Dont forget to do the short hike to the waterfall, its beautiful. Most of the field is not flat but big enough to find some space anyway. Fire allowed, nice firepits. Animals were quiet at night, good plus. Very kid friendly

The space was beautiful and well maintained. Also very much appreciate the crowd control - the number of bookings allowed is limited so it is not too crammed or overcrowded like many other campgrounds. There is a nice walk on the grounds as well. Showers were great. My only issue is with the portaloo. It was pretty filthy. If that was upgraded, would've been great!

Was easy to find and we slept well at night! We loved the fire pit and the sunsets. I did accept the terms that you have to take your rubbish with you but I think for what you’re paying there could be ONE bin somewhere. The flies were unfortunately unbearable on the last morning we left early. We weren’t aware there was a long drop as it just said toilet so these bathrooms aren’t as nice as a standard NSW camping site. Facilities are not good. We were told by the caretaker that the long drop wasn’t ready for use when we got there on Friday so the only toilet is far.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Surroundings was beautiful. Lots of room for the kids. Beautiful waterfall and bush walk. The only thing negative was the toilets. There was 2 toilets in the pines camping section which only get cleaned once a week on a Thursday. We arrived on a Tuesday after a long weekend. We were advised to not use them as it would be filthy after the long weekend. So the next closest toilets was about 300m away, not too bad but most of the time we would drive to the toilets. Those toilets were dirty, garbage souring out of the bins, no hand wash, showers had balls of someone’s hair and dirt, also poo around toilet bowls. I asked if they could be cleaned but the same rule applied, cleaned on a Thursday so we would have to wait. However I think it was wash down with a hose, garbage wasn’t all over the floor and refilled hand wash replaced. Other places we have been too cleaned and re-stocked the toilets cleaned once a day and that’s hygienic.

We had such an amazing stay at Fern Valley Ranch: surrounded by the smell of Oranges & possibility to purchase a bag to pick them yourself, the camping spot, the facilities, the waterfall. Just great - thank you for such a pleasant stay.

Great spot with plenty of space. Swimming in the river was great with sandy shore and some rocks to climb on for the kids. Amenities were very clean, plenty of showers and toilets. Wedding venue next door was playing music but the live bands and laughter added to the atmosphere. We purchased firewood from Matt, was good dry hardwood. Matt was very friendly and informative. Wollambi town and pub are also nice spots to visit. Drive in and out of the area beats the highway anyday.

Lovely campsites among orange orchards & amazing walk down to the property’s waterfall. Large sites perfect for camp fires, dogs, kids playing cricket and collecting oranges. Though unfortunately the bathroom facilities were a disappointment. We were told on arrival not to use the toilets close to our campsite as they had been used hard over the long weekend, would not be cleaned/emptied for another 3days and to “avoid”. There was however another 2 toilets and showers a short walk away. However they were quite messy. When reported we were told they would only be cleaned once a week. I had to clean the toilets myself to make them hygienic for my children to use. We did not use the showers as they were not clean enough to use during our stay.

Took my kids here for their first camping trip, they loved it. They enjoyed the tractor tour to feed the animals, they especially liked the bush walking to "the rock" and the waterfalls, they insisted on doing it every day (my legs 😅). Has a toilet and shower block (hot water) which definitely helped make the first foray into camping much more accessible. It was too late in the season for us to pick any fruit from the orchard but we did manage to scavenge a few good oranges that had dropped onto the ground, they were amazing and juicy, much better than from the supermarket. All in all a great experience and highly recommend.

We returned to Fern Valley Ranch this year and camped at The Pines this year. The site is lovely as always. The caretaker hosted a tractor tour and animal feeding session, which was great fun for our kids. We had a great time!

We loved staying at Fern Valley Ranch. The caretaker who greeted us was very friendly and provided lots of useful information about the location and things to do. Fireplace at every campsite was a great feature and the option to buy firewood on site is very convenient. Hot showers and flushing toilets was a luxury after a week of national park campgrounds without these facilities. Will definitely be coming back.
