Eagles Nest Hideaway, Pecan Fields

We had an amazing stay! The campsite was peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature. Robyn was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet getaway close to nature.

Pecan waterhole was a beautiful campsite. Lots of firewood around and easy to collect. The creek was lovely to cool off in the hot weather. We enjoyed paddling the kayaks and exploring the shallow rocky areas. We were lucky enough to see 3 platypus! A very special experience. The directions provided were clear. We found our site easily. The toilet was well equipped. It handled the busy campsite over the long weekend quite well. The sites are large and quite well separated, so we weren’t too close to our neighbours. It was a full moon during our trip - so beautiful to see the pecan trees lit up in the moonlight! The green leafy outlook and the gentle sound of the creek flowing made this a really special experience. Thanks for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us, Robyn! :)

We loved camping at Robyn’s place under the pecan trees! They offer lovely natural shade and the creek is perfect for kids exploring and a refreshing dip. The sites were spaced enough to feel private and not crowded like most camp grounds would have been this long weekend: We feel very fortunate to have found this gem and hope to visit again!

Heavenly stars and nature

We arrived at the site to be greeted by a herd of cows and their poddy calves. So lucky to be the only guests so we had the whole site to ourselves. Toilets provided were basic and that is all that is needed. The bird life was profuse and there were so many bird calls in the morning. The waterhole is great to meditate by watching the fish create ripples in the surface with their breathing.

The most incredible stay at the Bass Waterhole! The water was devine, the location was amazing & so is the host - can’t recommend enough. We had a big group and everyone was saying how perfect of a spot it was 1 will definitely be back 🤩

Camping on the waters edge

I loved this campsite, a truely magical place. Went tent camping with my two sons aged 4 and 8. We had the best time collecting fire wood, bass fishing and playing in the swimming rock pool falls. Will most certainly come back. Each site being on the creeks edge with their own toilet (long drop pit) was so great. Thank you!

We stayed at Paradise waterhole and highly recommend this site. This site had access to the water but was away from other people. The amenities were clear and the directions to the camp-site was so easy to get too. Robyn is also an amazing host. Highly recommend staying here!

My mates and I spent a great night at Pecan Waterhole, with a campfire and a delicious dinner. Travelling off-season (mid-August), we were the only group in the entire park; however, because of that, it took us quite a long time to find a flat area without cow droppings to set our tents. On Sunday morning, we used the public kayaks.

Forest View, Pecan Grove

We loved staying at the Pecan waterhole. A very peaceful and beautiful campspot looking out accross the running stream while listening to the Whip birds and the creek tumbling accross the rocks .Heaps of wood lying about to collect for the campfire. A cow was grazing the other side of the creek and we watched with interest as she slowly negotiated crossing the creek to our side. Unfortunately we damaged our large caravan trying to enter the property through the two narrow offset gates. Also the signage for the sites needs to be improved. The toilet was primitive and simply a small tent enclosing at bucket and seat over a hole dug in the ground. A little expensive for what you get, but if the entrance gates were widened we would definitely return.

Sharing the paddock with the cows!

We enjoyed our 2 nights at the pecans site. We were the only ones there, so it was quiet with the natural sounds of running water, cockatoo flocks and cows. The ground was mostly flat, suitable for our tent and getting to the property was pretty straight forward.

Absolutely the best weekend we have had in a long time. Full family group camping and having fun. Kids were fishing, marshmallows on the campfire, watching passing horse riders and much more. Adults loved the warm winter sun, campfire chats, watching cowboy and dogs mustering cattle, collecting pecans and roasting on the campfire, and peaceful beautiful surrounds. Our host Robyn was very gracious and offered plenty of support and advice.

We had the most amazing time over the Easter weekend. All the kids had the best time and the sites were just perfect. The creek was great for swimming and fishing and created the most peaceful backdrop. Robyn was such a lovely and helpful host and we couldn’t recommend highly enough, such a magical peace of land. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful creekside camp spot

Camping at Easter can typically be crowded and noisy but Robyn allocated a private spot for us by the flowing creek with plenty of sun & shade. It’s a beautiful property. We enjoyed a dip to cool off in the creek but didn’t use our kayak because the creek had varying depths and rocks. The property was easy to find and access & the rows of pecan trees are gorgeous. There was plenty of firewood available from old fallen trees. A chainsaw would’ve been handy, but we managed to collect enough small pieces for our 3 nights, including a bag from the servo on the way down. The creek water is perfect for boiling to drink. We didn’t venture out to any local towns or waterfalls because our solar powered setup is under our car awning. We enjoyed the total relaxation anyway! Thanks Robyn :)

Amazing camp site and the owner is lovely. Creek is perfect to relax in and enjoy the pecans from the trees on the property. A few waterfalls nearby, one of which is great for swimming in.

Beautiful camping spot! We camped on site 3 at pecan water hole - very spacious area and stunning creek views. We had a group of 12 people, 6 vehicles and it fit us nicely. Lots of wood around for a camp fire, definitely worth taking our chain saw. Robyn the host was super welcoming, friendly and down to earth. We will definitely come back to stay again! Was nice going to Minyon Falls and Whian Whian Falls while there also!

Caravan challenge

Amazing place. My wife and I loved every minute of being there. The only thing I can be a little negative about is getting there, we were towing our 21 foot caravan and to get from Mullumbimby to Dunoon is a narrow range road all the way. I took it as a challenge but my wife couldn’t let go of the safety handles in the car🤣. Definitely recommended

Went there for our Easter holiday! Our family had a really fun time camping at this area. The weather was beautiful and sunny. A little cold at night but that didn’t bother us. The only problem was there was a little of cow poop on our camp area and we had to spread out a bit😂. But anyhow the place was beautiful with a really nice river flawing. Good place to go swimming too. The toilet was very small. I think it would be good if they had a built toilet instead of just a dug hole and cover it with a toilet tent. Thank you for having us we enjoyed it!

The site was lovely, well set apart from other campers, very peaceful until a large group of young campers set up for the week-end. They were about 130 meters away from our site but had loud music playing ALL DAY until late into the night and on one night until the early hours of the morning. Of course this is not the hosts fault, however, we don't know if we got the host on a bad week-end or if they were friends of hers, but after a few text msgs from us over the week-end, asking if she could ask them to quieten down or do something about it, she was clearly very reluctant to assist. I wouldn't say it ruined our weekend but the blatant lack of assistance from the host was certainly disappointing and off putting. On the last night, the host actually came to our campsite at 8pm, accusing us of being "complainers" and that we weren't welcome back. We were gobsmacked!!! So in essence, the property was lovely, the host on the lead up was very responsive and helpful but once we were there, it seemed she had no interest in ensuring our stay was enjoyable.

Eagles Nest Hideaway is an absolutely gorgeous piece of land! There is sooo much shade under the pecan trees, every site has easy access to private swimming spots along the creek and the occasional visit from the herd of cows that roam the property made this a really special weekend for our group of 12.

We stayed at Pecan Waterhole Site #2 and the location was fantastic. The part we loved the most was the waterhole right out front of the site. It had a big fallen tree which made for a great place to sit back in the water. While we knew this in advance, it would have been better having a flushable toilet (drop toilets on site) and in a perfect world a hot shower. But again, we knew this was going to be the case so it is what it is :) Possibly the one thing which wasn't ideal was the noise control. It sounded like there was a rave going on a few sites down for the 2 nights we were there. I carried on until late into the night and early hours of the morning. I think perhaps someone may have complained as we noticed a discussion next door between a site member and manager, however whether the peeps there spoken to or not it made no difference. Other than that I would definitely recommend visiting the property and while there make sure you drive to the local waterfall for a swim which was INCREDIBLE! Happy camping :)
