IF A QUIET GETAWAY IN THE BUSH IS WHAT YOU ARE AFTER THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.*** Cullendore High Country has been operating as an established campground since 2015. We are a 4000 acre working cattle property and campground only two and a half hours from Brisbane. We are located in the picturesque, temperate high country only a 30 minute drive from Warwick, QLD. Campers have access to our property, as well as the neighbouring Maryland National Park. CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OLD ARE FREE SO LEAVE THEM OFF THE BOOKING. Our focus is to provide a quiet family-friendly venue. The space and quiet of our campground allows visitors to interact with the many native birds and animals that frequent the campground, providing a unique backdrop to an authentic bush experience. Campers can enjoy relaxing around their campfire in the bush, with firepits available at each site. This is combined with the luxury of flushing toilets and hot, gas-heated showers. To make the most of our peace and tranquillity, campsites are scattered in secluded areas throughout the property. There are 4 main camping areas, The Forest Camp, The Creek Camp, The Mountain Camp and The Overflow, each offering something different. We have smaller sites, suitable for a couple, a family or a few friends through to larger sites for groups and all sites have been levelled for a comfortable stay. We cater for all forms of camping including tents, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles and firewood, ice and drinking water is available from our office. We are only a 30 minute drive to many local attractions located around Stanthorpe and Killarney. We are a pet-free campground.

Site 15 - Mountain Camp

The Mountain Camp is located along the northern escarpment of our high country campgrounds. It overlooks the eastern Darling Downs far below. It has its own toilet facilities and is a short drive to the shower block at the Forest Camp. Campsites are scattered along the escarpment and throughout the nearby forest. Eaglehawk and Lorikeet are located at the northern end of the Mountain Camp. They are both suitable for up to three set-ups. Both sites offer seclusion and wonderful views over the Darling Downs. Sugar Glider is located at the front of the Mountain Camp with views over our property. It offers room for multiple set-ups and is close to amenities. The Mountain Camp is a perfect area for campers looking for extra privacy.

Site 36 - Creek Camp
I loved my stay at Cullendore High Country. It is a truly beautiful property, the sites are large, thoughtfully levelled & a fire pit for each site. The property is ideal for long or short walks. You'll see different types of bush, grazing land, water holes, the creek, green valleys etc. I enjoyed identifying the different wildflowers & also the different types of wallabies & wallaroos. Lots of beautiful king parrot, a few hares or rabbits & cows. Great for both families & solo travellers.

The Plover Site
We loved camping here over the Kings Birthday long weekend! We had site 64 in the Overflow camping area. It was a long weekend in NSW and QLD, but everything was quiet and peaceful and not overcrowded. Despite it being October, the temperature dropped quite a bit in the evenings, but nothing a cosy campfire couldn't take care of! The toilets were clean and always had toilet paper, and the water in the shower was lovely and warm. Depending on the site you choose there's a bit of a walk to get to the bathroom area, but we didn't mind it. Perhaps just something to keep in mind for campers with mobility issues.

This is the best place I've camped at since arriving in Oz. The whole place is truely beautiful, camp sites are nice and spread out over the property. The scenery is spectacular, awesome view from the lookout and every where you look really. The hosts were friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend this beautiful peice of paradise to everyone.

The Redgum Site
My fiance and I stayed a night at Cullendore Highcountry. It was one of the best weekends away we've had in a long time. Getting back to the bush and switching off completely was the best. Flushing toilets and heated showers for conveniency. Stuart and Wendy were super helpful and I would recommend anyone to stay at Cullendore Highcountry camping even if you are starting off camping or if you're experienced. Truly a great spot

Site 15 - Mountain Camp
Sites 11, 12 and 13 we particularly love. They are perfectly positioned. They have gorgeous views and are close but not too close to the bathroom facilities. There are numerous things to do in the area, such as Girraween NP, Thunderbolts Hideout and WWII tank traps which make Cullendore High Country a perfect place to camp. Lastly, the hosts are exceptionally friendly.

Great spot, with clean and accessible bathrooms. Plenty of room to spread out with the kids and wonderful walks. Roads are really well kept, and we had no issues in the motorhome. Owners are around and making sure people aren't speeding, which is great to know with kids on bikes around. Will definitely be back!

I’ve travelled to many places, but Cullendore High Country Camp easily stands out as the best place I’ve ever camped. It’s incredibly quiet and peaceful — the kind of place where you truly feel away from it all. The facilities are top-notch, with clean and well-maintained toilets and showers. The outdoor shower is a real highlight — there’s nothing quite like showering under the stars with the night sky stretching above you. The owner is an absolute gem — such a lovely and polite lady who meets you when you arrive and gives you all the information you need. She really makes you feel welcome from the start. Another big plus is the space. There’s plenty of room between campsites, so you’re not crammed in next to anyone else. It gives you a real sense of privacy and freedom. Cullendore High Country Camp is a peaceful retreat with stunning skies, warm hospitality, and room to breathe. I can’t recommend it enough.

I stayed at the Plover Site which was very private and close to amenities. Plenty of wildlife to see and trails nearby to walk. Wendy was extremely helpful throughout my entire stay, letting me pick a different site and offering local knowledge on places to go and things to do during the day.

The Lorikeet Site
We loved tent camping there. We were at the Forest Camp (not Lorikeet), not far from the amenities with a hot shower. Our site was levelled with plenty of shade and also sunny spots. We enjoyed a lot the fire pit, all the space we had and the nice views. We spotted a few animals too (wallabies at sunset and a bandicoot at night). A lovely break.

It more than met our expectations. We loved the peace and quiet that one only achieves without dogs. So many wonderful walking tracks. I just wish that Hipcamp would adjust their settings so I could search for camp grounds without dogs. There was so much wildlife as a result. The owners truly respect the wildlife as their number one priority.

My partner and I stayed at the Water Dragon Site and had such a lovely time! It was such a large space to ourselves that was so peaceful. We had a great view of the cows next door and their calves. The showers and toilets were extremely clean. 100% recommend Cullendore High Country!

We absolutely loved the serenity of Cullendore High Country. It was so nice not to have 4x4s hooning around us or loud music until all hours and no barking dogs. Wendy and Stuart have obviously put in a lot of thought and effort into the setup of each and every site with level camp sites and privacy trees or shrubs along with fire pits.
