A peaceful space that had plenty of your own room and still choice on where and how to set up. Great to have river access for kayaking or stand ups. Easy weekend chill.

Lovely spot right on the river/ creek. We stayed at the Boat Ramp site, which is huge and has access to the creek. It does have a steep access, but our 4 x 4 and large van handled it fine. Friendly host. Mostly quiet(some highway noise) lots of bird life and resident goanna. Will visit again, highly recommend

The weekend we stayed at the Pontoon site I could not complain about at all. The host was more than accommodating and helpful. The site was clean and tidy and well maintained. We stayed 2 nights and only caught flathead and bream. :) It is semi private with a bit of highway noise . One of the best Hipcamp of this style that we have been to.

Family of 4 with a doggo loved it!!

While you can faintly hear the highway at night once things settle down, you still feel like you're in your own part of bushland paradise!! My family of 4 stayed for 2 nights and it definitely wasn't long enough. We stayed down at the boat ramp site, which if towing, I would recommend owning a 4x4. We were the only campers during our time so had the whole camping zone to ourselves. My 10yr old son loved the pontoon and fishing from that was a highlight for him!! I imagine in summer that would be great for swimming off but it was too cold for that this time. Even for him!! The large fire drums provided at each site helped keep us nice and warm. Our 2yr old loved running around the large mowed grassy area and had a blast splashing in his gumboots down at the ramp, which was perfect for launching our kayak from. Forster was a short 30min drive, which we weren't originally planning on doing but we are glad we did as it was beautiful area. Overall this place was great and we'd definitely go back, we highly recommend it!!

Great little campground right on the edge of the river. Plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run around and the young fella caught a few Bream from the pontoon as well. Definitely worth the stop if heading away for the weekend or just travelling through.

Really amazing spot between different areas to explore, both in and around Forster. Paul is an incredibly friendly and helpful hosts, as well as accommodating. Would highly recommend this site to anyone looking in this area.

The campsite was lovely, nice and flat, lots of shade trees and the kids loved swimming off the Pontoon. It would be great for a few quiet days away ( no kids ;) ) . There had been heaps of rain in the area which made navigating down the hill a bit of a challenge, we needed Help to pull our Motorhome out because there had been further rain the morning we left. It wasn't ideal but Paul was really helpful and had us up the hill with his excavator in no time. We really appreciated his assistance with other family members as well. It would be a great camp site if you were into Kayaking the river is perfect for a paddle. There is ample space to accomodate large groups of people, we generally meet up with family and have quite a large set up. The dump point in at Nabiac was only a few km away so it was easy to dispose of waste and rubbish. There is a bit of traffic noise from the motorway if the wind is in the right direction but not enough to cause any issues and not enough to interrupt sleep.

Big grassy camp spot

Great large grassy area with good access to the water. The boat ramp spot is tucked away from the other campers so feels private. Lots of great bird watching and spectacular star gazing. It was hard to escape the summer heat in the middle of the day but the property is located close to so many beautiful coastal beaches and charming towns so it was nice to get out. Only a 10 minutes drive to Nabiac for supplies and 30mins to Forster. We enjoyed our stay at Paul’s place, they do a great job to keep the property maintained for campers.

Overall a good experience but feel this property is overpriced. $48 per night, minimal Telstra reception (high ground site), close to fellow campers, no rubbish bins, paid firewood, no water, completely off grid, no water sports equipment to use on the river, high price for parking.

Extremely pleasant to have have camped here. Paul was very nice and helpful. Although there was some traffic noise, it doesn't take away from waking up to the sounds of nature. Very highly recommended.

My son and I had a great time camping at Casapalou Riverside Camp. The host Paul was friendly and very helpful. The site itself is basic, but in a great location by the river. Perfect for kayaking/paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming in the warmer months. Close enough to the coast if you want to access the beaches as well. We would definitely stay there again.

We had such a wonderful long weekend here! When we arrived we couldn’t locate our spot but Paul quickly came down to help us out. Some other campers had arrived late the night before and set up in our spot so we ended up at the platoon but it was even better than we’d anticipated. Camped up facing the river and although there were other campers onsite they were far enough away to feel like we were alone. Close drive to Nabiac shops for supplies and easy drive to Forster if the beach is your thing. Great place to relax, chill out around the campfire with a couple of drinks or throw a line in (not that we caught much 😆) Highly recommend if you’re looking for some downtime.

Absolute ripper of a spot. Unfortunately for us the weather wasn’t on our side but kids still fished and we still had a beautiful fire. Fantastic for small groups and families. Would highly recommend.

The Pontoon site is lovely and it’s peaceful sitting down by the river especially on a late afternoon. The site is mostly level and easy to set up on. You can hear a bit of highway noise at night but it wasn’t enough to bother me. The river looks great for kayaking etc. The host was very helpful with directions to make his place easy to find. Dogs loved it too.

Paul was a great host, his directions were very clear. We had the pontoon site which has a beautiful view of the river. The sites are all very tidy and level. Paul is able to provide firewood at a small cost for the firepits. There is some traffic noise to be heard from the nearby highway. We usually struggle with traffic noise but didn't think it was too bad for the location. There is good mobile reception at the site.

Paul was a great host. We camped at the boat ramp site spacious and private. Easy to get into and out of the river with kayaks and paddle boards. Stunning scenery from the river. Would definitely stay again.
