Large campsite with beautiful rural views. Has a huge firepit and clean flushing toilet. It was a great site for an extended family get together. Plenty of room for 10 people. We enjoyed our stay but it was just too expensive for a large group. Hipcamp need to review the way they charge for large groups. While the cost for a couple or family of 4 would be more than fair for this site, the expense for our larger group couldn’t be justified unfortunately.

Everything was amazing. The instructions were clear, firewood was there when we arrived, and they were quick to respond to messages. The different animals that came up to say hi just topped it off. The road out to the property was really good and you didn’t need 4WD to access

We had a great weekend here, just the sounds of cows and birds, having the fire pit and toilet was very useful. Would definitely recommend staying here, although we didn’t visit the town it looked very nice aswell with places to eat out.

We loved to camp in Butmaroo! The view is beautiful and tequila!! Had good experiences with 3 friendly horses. Our doggie had lovely time to explore the farm. The firewoods provided by the host kept us warm in frozen winter nights. Great spot for stars gazing. Good facilities with a flushed toilet and bore water, huge dinner table. We’d love to come back again!

The views are amazing and sitting around the fire pit to watch the sun go down was the perfect end to a great afternoon.

I spent a wonderful week at Butmaroo Station. If you are wanting a relaxing and peaceful experience in a rural setting but close to suburbia then this has everything you need.
I appreciated the property has a flushing toilet and hand basin. If you want have a night fire you can do that too.
With 3000 acres to explore Butmaroo Station is a wonderful place. I hope to return someday.

Really nice camping spot. We camped near the hut and pine trees. Access to a toilet, firepit and table and benches. Great view and nice and quiet (except for a distant moo here and there).

We loved our stay. Penny is a great host and really responsive. We had a great stay with our two dogs. Bonus was the flushing toilet. Highly recommend, and loved seeing all the animals and hearing all the birds. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Butmaroo was beyond our expectations, there was fire wood stacked ready for us, beautiful views, with the peace and tranquility we were looking for. To have this space all to ourselves was simply incredible. Our dogs had the time of their lives, we cannot wait to visit again soon!

This is an honest farm experience, simple setting and well cleared to allow seating around a massive fire pit (wood supplied) The evening sky was absolutely beautiful. It was quiet and very serene. Good communication with the owner, wouldn’t hesitate to return if in the area.

We had a wonderful couple of days in our caravan at this property. Loved the privacy of Harrison's Hut on Butmaroo Station. We had a beautiful view overlooking sheep and horses. Enjoyed wandering the farm.

This is a wonderful farm stay only 45 minutes from Canberra. An easy drive with about 10km of good dirt road that is fine for any vehicle.
The area is flat and easy enough to drive through if you want.
A well stocked fire pit was ready for us on arrival and there was plenty of wood to keep it going.
A flush toilet is on site and a large outdoor table and chairs.
Penny is very nice and was easy to communicate with and available at any time if needed.
This is a wonderful place to stay if you just want to get away and enjoy some peaceful time with family or friends.
There is some lovely rolling hills and fields to walk through. The sunsets were also beautiful.
We will be back.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penny and Peter’s camp site. The site was very private at the same time with beautiful open view. We have the piece of mind to let our dogs free leash in the huge fenced off area. We simply just soaked in the sun and listened the bird singing for hours, we watched stunning sunset and bright moonlight. Peter and Penny provided us more than sufficient firewood to keep us warm in the evening. We are also very appreciative that Penny offered us to swap dates when our originally booking run into some heavy rains. Instead we came 2 weeks later with perfect weather and experience. Thank you Penny and Peter. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and unwind getaway.
