At Bonneydoon you can visit Sunset Rock, walk the great timber staircase of General Sherman trail, The Big Fig that's hundred's of years old, walk the majestic flatbed rock creeks, etched out over a millennia, adorned with unique flora and fauna, or relax atop the camping grounds and see the mountain tops that seem to stretch on forever.

Cool spot nestled along the ridge, fairly sheltered from most winds, and very convenient to all spots and activities. Often shrouded in mist when the clouds come in and provides a air of mystique. Get ready to have wallabys and potoroos beside your camp. Is a gently sloping site, best to back in sideways to level up the camper etc

This site is NOT safe for those with young children, as there is a steep drop off into the valley, which is what gives it an amazing view. We recommend only for fully self contained campers only. you need your own water, power and toilet facilities. it is totally isolated, there is no reception, no access to amenities without driving, and the only people you may see is the occasional traveller accessing the main camping grounds.

2. Southern Comfort
Firstly, a big thank you to Nicolas for his clear communication both before and during our arrival, he was always available and easy to reach whenever we needed anything. We had an amazing stay at Bonneydoon! The views from the campsite were absolutely stunning, they really do stretch on forever, with natural beauty that takes your breath away. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves that weekend, which made it even more special. It was incredibly peaceful and quiet, with nothing but the sounds of insects and birds around us. As a bonus, we spotted a few kangaroos and wallabies during our stay, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this spot if you’re after a quiet, scenic escape!

Great experience again, best site on the property! Peaceful with well maintained amenities and great communication. Plenty of wildlife too- roos, lace monitors, and some big wedge-tailed eagles. Highly recommended, we'll be back again without question.

Site 19 The Extra 4
This is one of the best hipcamps we have stayed at, mostly due to the clear communication and organisation of the property from Nicholas which is absolutely gorgeous too. It was Easter long w/end but we were all well spaced out. So much to do on the property; many walks. 4WD tracks, a spot to watch the sunset, a cool walk to a huge tree. It as quiet, relaxing and we loved sitting by the fire, looking out over the great view of the hills around Dungog and the dog loved all the space. Dungog was a handy short drive away. A perfect time away off grid to really feel relaxed. The composting toilet was a bonus too,

Beautiful campsite with stunning scenery and relaxing atmosphere. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Plenty of space for privacy, plus great spots for hiking and exploring nearby. Perfect for a weekend getaway or longer escape into nature. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful outdoor experience.

Great place to stay. Stayed there over a long weekend and every site was booked and still has lots of space away from any other campers. Definitely visit the 1000 year old fig tree and Sherman tree. Lots of little bush walks within the property to do.

We had a great stay at Bonneydoon! The views from the campsite were beautiful and our pup had a great time running around the paddock. It was a very beautiful spot and easy to access with a 2wd. There were some lovely bushwalks and dams on the property. The Big Sherman was our favourite and the 1000 year old fig tree was certainly impressive, although the trail was a bit up and down. Just keep an eye out for leeches, especially on your furry friends. The surrounding campsites weren't booked so we had plenty of space to ourselves which was nice, otherwise there isn't really anything separating them. The compost toilets and showers were fine. There were toilets close to the campsite, but the showers quite a walk so we ended up driving. Thanks Nick and Jane for sharing your beautiful property!

Had a great stay. Plenty of walks and some stunning scenery. The view from the lookout was one of the best. Campsites 11 and 12 were well maintained with plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around. Clean drop toilets and hot solar shower. We were very impressed. Hope to come back again soon.

What a special place, we felt very lucky that someone would share this farm with campers! Stunning views, great bushwalks, grass for days, very peaceful. Kangerooa hopping all around. Loved the big fig tree! Will definitely be back.

We loved our stay at Bonneydoon. The property is outstanding with plenty to do without even leaving the property if you don’t want to travel around the local points of interest. At the time of our 2 night stay, there was nobody else there so Nicholas said we can take our pick of sites even though we only paid for the cheapest camp site. Throw in the beautiful views, fantastic wildlife and great weather, we couldn’t fault this Hip Camp.

Bonneydoon was an awesome camp ground. Beautiful setting with a great view from site 12. The sites are really big and nicely spread out so you are not all on top of each other and leaves room to kick a ball or play games. It’s close into Dungog for the mountain bike park, swimming pool, brewery, bakery and IGA

Nicholas was great helping me pick the right site for a tent and two campervans. Nice and flat, loads of space and fantastic views. We had the whole place to ourselves. Access to a water tap and clean pit toilets close by. We didn’t use the showers or camp kitchen down the hill but seemed okay. Bit hot during the day - need to bring your own shade for this site but there are others under trees. Steep downhill bush bash to see an amazing sunset from lookout, breathtaking sunrises to start the day and THE STARS - wow!! Delighted to see our first ever fireflies ✨ Got too dark to visit the big tree but good to save something for next visit. On the more expensive side of the hipcamps we have stayed at but worth it for the views, walks, peace and serenity only 1.5 hours from Newcastle. Thank you 🙏🏼

we were there for a long week end during school holidays and the way the sites are designed are very private and doesn't feel crowded. We are self sufficient but truly appreciated the clean facilities and environment. Our dog loved swimming in the dams.

If you are looking for relaxed touch back to nature. Amidst the nature. On top of a hill, than Bonneydoon is place for you. Rv, trailer camper, caravan, or just tent camping. Its one place for it all. Nicholas was warm host, who figured the place we originally booked was water damaged,so he fenced the damaged portion and let us know about it so we could get ready accordingly. Most of the ones in our team had their first camp ever and m glad i took them here.

Bonneydoon was awesome, amazing spot high on the mountain with incredible views. I had the place to myself but spots were well spaced & the added bonus of a hot shower & toilets was great. Lots of kangaroos about too, highly recommend!

The campsite was amazing, owners were also kind enough to send an email with things to do around the venue, but sitting in the campsite and admiring the view was more than ample for us. I had already been to the campsite prior last year and it still held its ground as the best campsite in nsw, in my books. Toilets were clean and accessible. Ground was not muddy despite the rain during our camping trip, which made clean up a breeze. Would definitely return. Absolutely worth the three hour drive from Sydney. My only tip would be to make sure that you have all your supplies before heading to the venue as the nearest grocery store is quite a drive from the campsite.
