Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Set on the Bluff River youll be able to set up camp as you enter the property and explore that section of the river adjacent to your campsite. A natural bushland setting with interesting rocks to explore youll be able to cool of in the water with a paddle or swim in deeper sections if you desire and depending on how much water is running in the river at the time.

Camp on the edge of the Bluff River and enjoy and explore the river adjacent to your campsite. There are some interesting rocks and you can cool off in the River, paddle or swim in deeper areas depending on the amount of water in the river at the time. We are located just 20 minutes from Tenterfield, an historic town in the rolling New England region. Here you will find a superb wilderness. Bluff River runs out of the hills, crystal clear water pours over the very beautiful granite rocks - then meanders gently down the valley surrounded by timber. Visitors are welcome to walk a distance exploring the granite rock formations in and around the river. The campsite is located in a very private location, surrounded by a mix of vegetation and tall trees. There is a variety of native wildlife around, including bird life and a variety of wallabies. The native flora is beautiful, too. In town you will find shops and suppliers for all your camping needs. While you're there, check out the heritage architecture, great cafes, interesting shops. If you're up for an adventure further afield, the nearby national parks are perfect for outdoor adventures, from bushwalking to swimming and you can take the Boonoo Boonoo Falls walking track to a waterfall that drops 210 metres into a gorge, and enjoy eye-popping panoramas in Bald Rock National Park. Approximately 25km South of Tenterfield from The New England Highway turn into Sandy Flat Road follow for 3km approximately then turn left into Scotts Gully Road. A short distance before you cross the Bluff River on the left hand side you will see a camping spot. Feel free to camp anywhere in the vicinity of the river that suits you and your vehicle. The photos don’t show that the site is actually immediately adjoining a dirt road. The site had not been kept and had long grass and fallen trees. The other site next to the river is unsuitable for a caravan as there is not enough room to turn around. We elected to move up to high ground in one of the paddocks. This area was also unkept. If it had been summer we would not have been able to stay due to fear of snakes. The host prefers to communicate via text rather than Hipcamp.

We had an amazing time camping here! We especially enjoyed the open fire and the fresh air, camping under the stars in our tent. We wanted to stay longer but the rain had other plans. It’s very close to the grocery stores in Tenterfield which was also nice. Thank you so much Elizabeth.

We arrived at our camp-site to find a council grader parked there. Host said "park anywhere" but with limited choices available as we do not have an off road caravan. Everywhere else was overgrown or swampy. We also shared our space with a family with two small children, one of which cried most of the evening and early morning. We have grandchildren and appreciate family time but did not expect this when we wanted quiet and relaxing times. So we parked beside a grader and listened to an upset child whilst paying for the privilege of being on a busy no through road.

Was a great spot that we booked super last minute. Directions were clear and was easy to get too. Plenty of space to pick a spot along the creek. There were piles of wood she said we could help ourselves too for firewood which was awesome! And the cows came over and said good morning the next day 😁
