HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. In the next valley there's even gold to be found. Explore trails by mountain bike. Whale watch. Surf. Learn SCUBA. Go beach-combing. Catch a mudcrab. Go whitewater river rafting. Ask your host about where to find all the local waterfalls, the best walking, how to find gold, the gnarliest off-road tracks, Anything is possible here in this magnificent part of the world, except perhaps snow and ice.

Wowzer Waterfall!
Rod was a great host! Easy to communicate with happy to help, gave us clear instructions to get to the waterfall and asked if we need anything. It is about 30 min to the beach at Corindi on sealed and dirt road. Coffs harbour was 40min+. Very quiet, no cars just the sound of the bush. Bring long pants and covered shoes or gumboots for long grass and leeches. Good space and fences for dogs- waterfall a decent 30-40min walk but well worth it!! Thanks again!

Magical
We had the most beautiful stay in this nature paradise. Rod is a legend of a host and what a gem of a spot. We can't wait to go back. 11 out of 10. And when you think it can't get better, you go and check the waterfall.

Beautiful site, private waterfall!
Rod's place is a fantastic base to explore the state forests and national parks along the Coffs Coast. Only 40 mins from the beaches/Coffs Harbour, and with plenty to do at the property, I definitely recommend staying here. Rod was super friendly and helpful - the hike up to the waterfall was magical and especially the scramble to the lip/infinity pool was so worth it. Nearby public access to the bottom of Scouts Fall I also recommend to check out. The Moonee Beach and creek areas a 40min drive away are beautiful locations perfect for a paddle. Make sure you come prepared and read directions very carefully when travelling to Rod's and for Scouts Fall. Do not listen to your GPS and follow local signage. Downloading offline Google maps is helpful before you get into areas of no service. Rod's campsites were nice and flat, well maintained and the composting toilet was great.

Back to nature stunning native area
Rod was a great host. The property is located in an area surrounded by native bush with e stunning waterfalls located in the property. You can walk to the waterfall or take the option of Rod’s tractor ride as an extra cost. Highly recommend doing the ride as this allows you to take in the local views, when I walked the track I found you needed to focus on who you walked because of tree roots and then missed seeing how stunning the landscape is. There is a pit toilet which is adequate but No running water so much sure you carry in what you need. Rod is working hard to remove invasive non native weeds from his land and certainly has great knowledge of the local environment and vegetation. Creek below camping area had too little water for swimming when I stayed however the waterfall area was swimable. Highly recommend for campers who enjoy a back to nature experience.

Beautiful property, wonderful host
Rod and his furry friend are friendly and welcoming. Didn’t get the opportunity to see the waterfall due to poor weather, which Rod was kind enough to warn us about. Camp grounds are spacious with plenty of privacy. Would visit again in future.
