Retro Star Ranch
2 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · UTRetro Star Ranch is big and secluded.  Aside from a few trailers that dot the hills in the distance you are pretty much on your own.  We have 25 acres of land at the end of a private road in a secret hidden valley not far from SLC, Ogden and Eden Utah.  This land is pristine and connected to over 5000 acres of undeveloped open space.   The property is part of a recreational property subdivision.  You might see some fellow campers on quads, occasionally you might hear gunfire,  but you're more likely to see deer, fox, grouse, birds of prey, moose and possibly elk.  Not far from Causey Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ogden River both of which have great water for floating and fishing.    You could easily get here in a sedan when dry but not recommended for sports or low clearance vehicles.  If you have 4x4 that is better, especially if you want to venture to our last campsite or pull a trailer here.   We've pulled a 30' foot trailer but the road is skinny in places and the turns are tight, bumpy from cobbles and ruts and often have puddles.  There is about 2 miles of that climbs over a ridge.  If you're adventurous and a confident driver on dirt roads you will have no problem.  If it's you're first time pulling a trailer or if you have a low clearance then this might not be the spot for you.   However, if you're looking for something peaceful and secluded that is not that far from town, this is it.  We can also accommodate larger groups or multiple vehicles if desired.  Please contact us with any special requests or questions.  The Knoll site is better for trailers and larger groups.  It has a loop through driveway and can accommodate a few trailers.  Please be aware that this is wilderness camping and there are wild animals throughout the woods.  It is best to stay on trail or at the site and be alert for snakes, big cats, moose and deer.

The Hundred Acre Wood
4 sites · Lodging, Tents103 acres · UTOriginally homesteaded by Edwin Whiting in the 1870s, the upper reaches of Hobble Creek Canyon have been ranched by our family since 1901.  Edwin was a fruit farmer and I suspect that the lone pear tree still growing (and bearing fruit) on the ranch, may have been planted by him nearly 150 years ago.  Today we raise horses, but mostly we raise kids and spirits.  Come up, set a spell, and renew your soul.

Second Chance Ranch
1 site · Tent1 acre · Morgan, UTMy husband Shaun and I fell into rescuing horses quite by accident.  We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day!  Please come visit, enjoy our beautiful property and support an amazing non-profit cause while you are at it! Learn more about this land:We are a non-profit horse rescue situated on one acre. The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep".  This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays.  The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other.  You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house.  If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm.  Parking is located a few hundred feet from the campsite, just off of the road.  You must walk a few hundred feet to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way.  We look forward to having you camp with us!

Rock N' Roadie, Salt Lake City
1 site · Lodging1 acre · Salt Lake City, UTWe have several vintage airstream trailers that we have restored and setup around in various "hot spots" for free spirited travelers to enjoy rather than staying in a run of the mill hotel! The owner of this particular location is very into rock climbing and is semi pro. He has built his own climbing gym in the shed next to the airstream and if you are lucky, perhaps you can take a private climbing lesson from Ander!Learn more about this land:The Rock'n Roadie takes you to a better time:Calling all travelers who want an escape form the mundane! Our 1970 Airstream Travel Trailer has been tastefully restored keeping its original charm. Fully Stocked, heated, comfortable and unique. Private space in Sugarhouse/South SLC backyard with outside "chill area" featuring Trex Deck, fenced around , clean gravel and seating with Glass N Flame fire pit and outdoor seating. Place your skis in the private yard outside the Airstream. The Airstream is a 1970 “Overlander Twin” model. It’s 27’ in length and has tall ceilings for a camper (airstreams are shaped and made so well with Aircraft grade aluminum and construction techniques. So it feels similar to being in an airline cabin :) Climate Temperature:Even on the coldest winter nights, it is warm and heated with a 1500Watt Delonghi Electric Oil Filled Heater upfront, with digital thermostat upfront. The bathroom has a 700Watt electric oil filled heater, providing warm steady and stable heat all winter long. In the summer, the large heater upfront is replaced with a large window mounted 15,000BTU Delonghi AC unit-so the space will always remain a desirable temperature. Sleeping Arrangements:This unit features two beds and would most best be suited for 1-3 adults or possibly 2 adults and two children. There is a twin bed along the galley which has a memory foam topper and is very comfortable. Technically this is called an “RV Full” but to us it is most closely compared to a twin that one would have in their home. There is an accordion door that separates the front kitchen and living area from the back bedroom and bathroom area, so two groups of people (or an in-law, mother, business partner, etc) can change or have some level of separation this way. It is best for those traveling together to be comfortable being close to one another, because this is after all “Tiny Living”The front couch pulls out to become a second twin bed, and there is an additional memory foam topper for it found in the large closet across from the galley twin. Appliances: There is a 1.7 cubic feet mini fridge with freezer compartment. Small but large enough to hold your staples for a fee days at a time. (The larger fridge and freezer has a bad cooking element so the mini fridge will have to do).The propane stove is available for use to cook up some quick food over. We send a “how to” video demonstrating how to turn in the burner and use it. We DON’T ALLOW COOKING OF particularly greasy or strong odor foods so there are not lingering odors for future guests- I’m looking at you BACON! There is a built in microwave as well. The oven is not to be used please (we have found that some guests don’t quite understand how to shut off the pilot for it and who is going to bake brownies in there anyways? :)The water heater is brand new and heats 12 gallons at a time so long hot showers aren’t doable but a reasonable time shower is great :)Tv:We have an LED TV connected with Dish Network Satellite tv and hundreds of channels. You will have your own private space in the back yard, Its fenced on 3 sides with the airstream itself as the 4th side, opening up to your own cute and private outdoor patio space. You can use the Propane Fire-pit as well (please leave us a couple bucks in the upper cabinet above the stove if you do to cover the propane use)There will be adequate street parking out front of the house, and there is a single vehicle parking space located back by the airstream too (marked with railroad tie), so your things are close to you.The neighborhood is a mix of single family and multifamily dwellings and is close to Freeway entrances, minutes from Restaurants, bars and entertainment in Nearby Desirable Sugarhouse as featured in Sunset Magazine.

Provo River Property
2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents1 acre · Provo, UTThis is a beautiful area!  We plan to build our dream home on this lot but in the meantime, we want to share the amazingness with campers!Learn more about this land:***Please read this entire listing!  We want you to have a great time and for this to be a great fit for you!***DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU'VE READ EVERYTHING!  It serves no one if you don't have a great stay.  **TEMPORARY NOTE- We're in the process of enclosing the lot with an 8' concrete privacy fence.  The listing is written as it will be when the fence is done.  As of now, most of the fence is done but we have to remove a few trees so there are some gaps in the privacy fence.  When it's all enclosed, I'll take down this temporary note.***If you read the listing and still have questions, please reach out!  I've improved the listing based on feedback from reviews on our other listing, and I answer ALL messages with pre-booking questions.PROs: Convenient location! Park Bathrooms (in the summer)! Locked Gates! Great Price!  Next to a city Park! CONs: Next to a city park. Possibility of nighttime noise disturbances for those in a tent.KEEP READING!This is a fenced-in property right by the Provo River and the city park.   It's surrounded by trees and the fresh smell and sound of the rushing river.  You'll have access to the private driveway, the gated entry, and you can place your tent or camper anywhere on the lot.  (Tent campers- this is not a quiet area.  Tent camping not recommended unless you sleep like the dead.)We're steps from the Provo River trail that takes bikers and joggers to Utah Lake or up into Provo Canyon.  It's great for taking long beautiful walks along the river.  The river is just 100 feet away!  You can make your way to the edge and sit with your feet in the fresh flowing water.  There are many places where you can easily step into the clean river and swim, raft or fish. The park located right next to us is heavily wooded with lots of private spaces for meditation or exploration.  The small duck pond is home to many beautiful wild ducks that will be happy to accept your food offerings.  HipCampers who love the space typically want a safe but urban area to explore, relax, or work as part of their nomad lifestyle.*SET UP: You may set up camp anywhere on the lot..  Our trailer is the one with the little flower planters next to it.  We don't mind if you park close to our trailer.  We're not there every day.  Please note that we do use our fire pit sometimes so park away from that if you don't like smoke. *NOISE: Please note we are close to a train track and you WILL hear the train sound in the night.  We are also in proximity to a freeway which is not visible but sometimes able to be heard. You may hear people talking in the parking lot and vehicles moving.*SECURITY:  Both gates lock.  We are in a safe albeit public area. There is one streetlamp that lights the bridge going across the river to the bathrooms.  Other than that, it's very dark, so bring a good flashlight.  Because of the lack of lighting at night, it feels very private.  Some guests have reported it feels sketchy at night which is understandable for someone to feel when in new surroundings.  Yes, people use the path and sometimes the parking lot during the night, but we're in a very safe area compared to other cities.  We keep all gates locked at night and when the property is vacant during the day.*TOILETS: Toilets are in the city park and are usually open, though they close for the winter season.  There is a park just a little further down the trail that also has bathrooms.  It is better to plan on no toilet services during the winter.  We are not responsible for the city toilets so if you plan to judge your experience on them, please don't stay here.  ;)*WATER:  Drinking water is available on our lot.  Provo city water is safe to drink. *POWER: 15 or  50 amp power is available with the purchase of the power "extra" at checkout.  You MUST pre-order this add-on.  Power is locked but we will give you the code if you have purchased the extra.  The prime spots to park are up to 100' away from the power.  You MUST have at least a 50' cord if you plan to use power and ideally a 100' if you want to park in the shade and still have power.*PRIVACY:  Our lot is completely enclosed.  On the public side (park and trail), we have a 8' tall concrete fence.  Immediately outside our gate, you'll have access to the park and trail.  The playground/pavillions/duckpond is on the other side of the river across the bridge.  Provo residents are very friendly and may greet you at the park or on the trail, but they won't bother you when you're inside the private lot.   *PETS: We are so sorry but pets are not permitted anymore. We have a little flock of chickens and ducks that call this lot home. We also have a parrot we bring when we are camping. We’ve had problems with guest pets so we have to say no more. *NEIGHBORS: We have a caretaker living on the lot.  You will see his camper when you arrive.  He keeps an eye on the property, feeds the critters, and is willing to help you if needed, but his job is not caring for Hipcampers.  He will leave you alone.*ABSOLUTELY NO parties, no drinking, no drugs, no loud music.*NO GENERATORS.  No you are not an exception.  Yes, they are ALWAYS too loud.  If we hear it or get a call from a neighbor that you are running it, we will ask you to leave with no refund.*NON-WATERED WEEDSCAPE WARNING.  The grass in the park is green.  Our lot is a 1/2 acre without a sprinkler system.  Please don't arrive expecting everything to be green.  We keep some area in the shade green but the rest is let to do its thing (which is die in the hot summer sun).  Thanks!*CHECK IN TIME- is anytime after 2pm.  If the site won't work for you, please cancel before 11pm for a full refund.  ****THIS LOT IS PERFECT for you if you:-are boondocking (dry camping) with a self-contained vehicle or tent (and are not a light sleeper.)-like the convenience of our location-need a quick and easy and safe place to sleep as you make a road trip stop. (we're close to gas and the freeway)-have read all the transparency in the listing and think it'd be a good fit****THIS LOT is NOT perfect for you if you:-Are recreational camping and want a mountain or remote setting. Remember- this is within city limits.-haven't read everything above.  Because guests who don't read a listing all the way through but still make a booking may be disappointed. **FREE CANCELLATIONS till 11pm!HipCamp's super flexible policy allows for free refunds up till the time of check-in.  We've set our check in time to 11 pm to allow ample time to cancel. If you arrive and it won't work for you, simply cancel!  If you do not cancel before 11pm, I'm sorry but there are no refunds.  We tried to make things as easy as possible for you to get all the information you need. Please cancel by 11pm on your arrival date if it doesn't work for you.

Bear Lake Basecamp!
2 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Liberty, IDThis has become a great place for our family to go to get away for the weekends.  The nights are absolutely beautiful and you can see the stars.  You can hear the coyotes off in the distance chipping and howling.  My kids love to ride their ATV on the trails and we go for hikes and just relax.  There is one fire pit for use, just please go into the trees and find some wood to re-stack what you have used.  Learn more about this land:Our Bear Lake Bascamp is perfect for boondocking or pitch a tent and camp in our 5 acres meadow or find a small shady spot in the 5 acres of  quakies and pine trees!  Off grid camping! OHV trails (ride from camp), bring your mountain bikes or even just go for a hike. Located at the edge of the Caribou-Targhe National Forest, Montpelier Ranger District, Idaho. The sunrises are amazing and in the evening you can listen to the coyotes off in the distance. It is open in the winter for snowshoeing or snowmobiling in with wood ready for the fire pit!  Recommend, that when you first arrive, build a small fire in the fire pit and the smoke will get rid of any of the bugs around.  We get up there about 1 time a month and mow/trim the path, parking and work on the trails in the pines.   Turn left at the smile face....When you see it, you'll know what I mean ;)  Please be respectful of others who have property in the area as well.  Don't climb over anyone's fences.
