A Native Escape

The cozy off-grid cabin (solar powered) & A-Frame Huts (unpowered) nestled on Nunguu Mountain, offers a space to unwind and slow down. The rainforest views are captivating and can keep you peacefully entertained watching the bird life fly by for hours.

The cabin offers a 2 x bedroom living quarters, that can sleep up to 6 people in total, as well as the main kitchen, living room area and outdoor undercover dining space. The outdoor shower is surrounded by heliconia plants, a forest lovers dream.

The A frames are suited for 2 x single or a couple- short walk up the mountain, with a shared outside bathroom "loo with a view" and rock shelf shower.

A 10 minute drive from Valla Beach, 30 minutes to Bellingen and Coffs Harbour a beautiful place to stay and go out for day missions.

Although completely seperate and private, this beautiful Cabin and Aframes, share the property with the ‘Main House’ living quarters about 150 meters away.

Bunya Farm Bellingen

One booking at a time so the space is yours to enjoy. Beautiful river flats with direct frontage onto the Kalang River. Site is located next to steps down to the river. The site doesn't have much shade at the moment but the river has abundant shaded retreats. In dry conditions accessible via 2WD, ok for caravans and motorhomes. In wet conditions please check with us before arrival. 60 acre farm only 5 min from beautiful Bellingen. Beautiful river flats with direct frontage onto the Kalang River.In dry conditions, access is good and suitable for 2WD and caravans. Some parts of the property will require 4WD (such as Mountain Views site). In wet conditions please check with us before arrival.Pet considered on prior application - please ask first (we are a farm with livestock).No amenities - please BYO everything you need and leave no trace. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood is available to purchase (see extras).

Steps down to the river from the campsite

Benefields Rose Farm

This is a 45 acre farm located approx 50 km north of Coffs Harbour and 30km south of Grafton and is just 500 meters from the Pacific Highway at Halfway Creek. 

The property is easily accessed by 2WD and is suitable for caravans and small to medium motor homes.

Take a right turn as soon as you drive through the cream concrete entrance gates and follow the road down to the large cream shed. 

Here you will find manicured park-like gardens with a large dam - big enough to kayak on! There are numerous shady trees along the dam edges and you can also relax on the pontoon which overlooks the water. 

**Please note that the dam area is not fenced and may not suit campers with children. Campers must ensure they supervise their children at all times. 

This farm operates a cut flower business with over 10,000 rose bushes and has recently diversified with a large number of Australian wildflowers. 

The business hours are typically 6am-4pm but once or twice a week the shed does need to be accessed earlier than this so please do not park on the gravel area in front of the double roller doors.

There are no amenities so campers need to be fully self-sufficient with own camping toilet and leave no trace. 

Please note - unless otherwise approved by host , we allow only 1 caravan or camper or tent or motorhome per site.

Fires are permitted if restrictions are not in place AND MUST be contained  in our fire pit  , a brazier or portable fire pit. Please do not light fires directly on the ground/grass.

Located on a 230 acre estate, we have something for everyone including a charming Rustic Cabin recycled from the original homestead from 1890!

This is a great base camp to explore the beautiful Coffs Coast with many attractions.

18 mins to Coffs and a short 10 minute drive to famous Moonee and Emerald Beaches and Moonee Market which has a large Coles and Aldi, as well as specialty shops, cafes, restaurants and the family friendly Moonee Beach Tavern.

Hand feed the many friendly farm animals, or enjoy hours of bush walking, bird watching or perhaps have a picnic by the beautiful dam overlooking the horses grazing, or discover our Secret Garden!

Suitable for all size caravans, motorhomes, or any RV, 2WD's, tents, camper trailers and 4WD's with excellent all weather access straight off the main sealed road👍🏼

Lovely shady sites as well as plenty of open sunny pasture for your solar with use of shared portaloos in main camping paddock. You may also camp in the dam paddock by the water (when available) however, you will need to be completely self sufficient with your own porta potty.

Firewood is available to be purchased from reception.

Suitable for large groups such as 4WDs, family gatherings, horse riders, weddings and school groups. Plenty of space and privacy.

- Potable water is limited due to weather conditions (drought), and the farm being on tank water. Please fill your vans or tanks BEFORE you arrive.

- Dogs no longer allowed due to repeated incidents involving our free ranging poultry. 

- No showers or electricity

- Our moderate cancellation policy requires a cancellation of 72 hours ahead of check in date for a refund. Date modification requests within 24 hours of check in time will not be accepted.

- No refunds will be issued for early departures after arrival.

Here you can camp by a permanent flowing creek in our beautiful green valley. Sites are accessible by all types of vehicles such as RVs, caravans, motorhomes, big rigs, camper trailers or basic tent camping.

Campfires are permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood is available at $15 per bag and bonus inclusion of a lovely swimming pool and BBQ area!

Shower & toilet available.

There is 350 km of dirt trails in the very large Orara State Forest behind our property which is great for mountain bike riding, or horse riding (no horse riding permitted on the property).

104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest.
On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner.
 Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere!

From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight,
right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall),
you'll be spoiled for things to do and
places to explore - without even leaving the property!

HISTORY

This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land.

In the 1800's, white men came
seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging
has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees
remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to
grow out too.

About 35 years ago
about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of
this top end of the valley that you see today.
Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over.
You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though -
they have spikes that could
puncture Caterpillar tracks!)

MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan.
Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities.
