We have 4 flat grassy areas and 1 gravel base site under trees. Facilities include inside and outside showers, toilets, camp kitchen with BBQ, Fridge, electric frypan and small camp stove, washing machine and device charging facilities.

We can take tents, camper trailers, RV's and small caravans up to about 8 m is OK. We do not have power to the campsite. The camp ground is on a working lavender farm and farming activities may be happening.
If you can't arrive before DARK please do not book if you cant get to our location during the checkin window 3 to 6 PM
The lavender farm shop and cafe is open Thursday to Sundays in term and Thursday to Monday during school holidays (closed February, March and 2 weeks in June) but campers can purchase lavender products on request and order takeaway from the menu
Camp fires in season (Usually May to September) and weather permitting. We supply fallen logs for the communal fire pit please do not bring your own but fires only at night and not in the morning please! If you have your own firepit or want one you need to purchase a bag of wood.

Blackwood Ridge Nature Park is situated on the Roebank property and as party of the first settlement in this area, both Roebank and
the neighbouring Peninsula House have historical significance in Bridgetown.
The Roebank Cottage was built in 1890 by the grand-daughter of John Septimus Roe who was a famous civil engineer contributing to the original town planning of Perth City and Roebourne.
In the early days, Roebank was used for livestock grazing and had the largest shearing shed this side of Bridgetown used by the neighbouring farmers. Over the years the property has been used as a pear orchard, goat farm and other small farming activities.

Redgum Hill
Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting.
Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter.
Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm.
Creek Junction
Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue.
Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them.
Hidden Corner
Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of our five campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind.
Shed Pad
Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed with an optional private bathroom. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents.
It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

Matt’s communication was outstanding! He checked in to make sure we settled okay and if we needed anything. There was a fire pit ready at our site. Nearby is a nature walk (800m) that had little signs along the way detailing what flora and fauna could be observed. Great spot to take the dogs for a walk! There was a stand that had books and games etc for use while staying, as well as some adorable things the hosts kids had made/painted to purchase. There was also firewood one of the kids had chopped up to be used in exchange for a little donation!

Without doubt, Highway Hideaway is a beautiful Hipcamp and a real hidden gem. It’s clear the hosts are working incredibly hard to create a peaceful and tranquil place for guests to enjoy.
The camping areas are beautifully maintained, and the discovery trail walk is a lovely addition, giving you the chance to wander, explore and really enjoy the surroundings.
It was hard to believe we had the entire place to ourselves — it felt like our own private little escape. Peaceful, spacious and obviously cared for with a lot of pride.
A wonderful spot to slow down, switch off and enjoy the outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

What a magical spot.
Secluded, on the edge of the hill, shade, sunlight, a fire pit, wandering sheep and waking to the mist and fog filling the valley below.
Good directions, expansive area to walk and explore and 10 minutes by car to Bridgetown if you need anything.
A very enjoyable weekend made more special by our great campsite.

We enjoyed staying for a couple of nights at Highway Hideaway. It was quiet and peaceful with a nice outlook to the dam. The many birds and the kangaroos at sunset were great to see.
The short bush walk Matt has created in the adjacent forest was a nice addition too.
It was convenient being close to town while still feeling we were camping in a forest.

We stayed in site 1. It was beautiful and secluded. Surrounded by trees and wildlife. So quiet and peaceful. We loved the walking trail on the property. It was so nice to see the attention to detail that Matt and his lovely family have put into this camp. They supply a fire pit and some wood for each site.

Tucked away amongst the towering trees, Highway Hideaway was exactly what we needed for our four-day winter getaway.
Campsite 3 & 4 looks directly over the dam and is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise filter through the trees in the morning.
The amount of work the hosts have put into making the property kid friendly was such a highlight for us. From swing sets and fairy gardens to outdoor games and a designated board game station that guests can borrow from, there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. They’ve even created a little bush walk through the property with information plaques about the different animals along the way, which was such a cute addition for the kids. The hosts’ children had also set up a little stall with their handmade arts and crafts, which our kids absolutely loved (and of course had to purchase from!).
Being able to have a campfire during our winter stay made it even better, and the property being dog friendly was a huge bonus for us too. We happened to have the property to ourselves during our stay, so our dog had plenty of space to explore and she had the BEST time.
Matt was lovely and welcoming when we arrived, made sure we had everything we needed and then left us to enjoy the property at our own pace for the rest of our stay.

Stonehenge is, without a doubt, the best campsite on the property. It’s incredibly private, beautifully maintained, nestled amongst mature trees, and has breathtaking 360° views over the surrounding farmland and rolling hills.
My partner and I booked a weekend getaway and arrived on Thursday evening, planning to explore the local area. Instead, we were so relaxed and content that we didn’t leave the property once before checking out on Sunday morning. It was exactly the peaceful escape we were hoping for.
The weather was cold and rainy during our stay, but that only added to the experience. We had the whole property to ourselves and spent our days enjoying the fire pit and old wood fire. Watching the sheep wander past and the lambs playing in the paddocks was such a lovely touch and gave the property so much character.
This is one of those rare places that genuinely helps you slow down and switch off. It’s equally suited to a romantic weekend away or a family camping trip, and we’d love to come back with the kids next time.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic escape.

We had a wonderful stay with Matt and his family and would happily come back. The campsite was peaceful, clean, and well maintained, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home without being intrusive. The kids were the highlight of hospitality.
The surroundings were beautiful, with plenty of space to unwind and enjoy nature. It was the perfect place to switch off, and we really appreciated the quiet atmosphere.
We’d definitely recommend Highway Hideawy to anyone looking for a relaxing escape and look forward to visiting again in the future.

The walking trails are well worth exploring, and the views across the surrounding countryside are beautiful.
