The ones which are secluded, capture beautiful pieces of light at certain times of the day, where the black cockatoos love to rest on the branches of the gum trees, the areas where weeping peppermints create a haven and the frequencies of the frogs elevate at certain times of the year and times of the day are so loud that you cant hear yourself think. As a result we have several spots on our property we would love to share with like minded people who have a love for nature, music and wine. PLEASE BE AWARE WE HAVE NO FACILITIES such as toilets, showers and water. Our region 'Margaret River' is famous for wine but there are so many other things that make this place special. A wild but beautiful coastline uninhibited by people, karri forest, caves, mountain bike trails and a 120km coastal walk. We are also known for surfing and close by are a number of world famous breaks including Surfers Point which is located 20 minutes from the farm. Closer to the farm you can enjoy a short walk to a beautiful winery called SI Vintners, drive to The Berry Farm or the quirky town of Witchcliffe. At Witchcliffe you will find Darnell's General Store which has a gift shop (The Shed), cellar door (Amato Vino), coffee shop (Witchy Brews) and fantastic pub (Dear Darnells), newly opened McHenry Hohnen Vintners wine bar and vintage stores which it has become renown for.

The property is the first right just off the Bussellton Highway, the sound of the highway isn’t as bad as expected, the highway goes through a man made valley/gully and we are on a hill. Four for self-contained campers/vans only, you MUST bring everything with you including a toilet. Shed Pad, has power available and an optional private bathroom. Stay here and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings over a glass of wine from one of the local wineries or head out and explore the beautiful Geographe Wine Region. Redgum Hill Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting. Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter. Valley Vista Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm. Creek Junction Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue. Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them. Hidden Corner Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of our five campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind. Shed Pad Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed with an optional private bathroom. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents. It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

We loved the space and tranquility. Host was very helpful as there was a road closure which confused our maps! Beautiful place, wildlife and birds abundant. Would highly recommend a stay there, we had 4 nights and could have stayed a lot longer if we didn’t have work to get back to! Will revisit in warmer weather to experience a different set of conditions, perfect!

Whicher farm is one of the best camp areas we have stayed at. It is extremely quiet, no traffic noise and no other campers. Beautiful outlook and close to Busselton and other attractions. We will definitely be back again.

Very peaceful and quiet. Heaps of space and couldn’t see other campers. We had three friendly Kookaburras around and also saw lots of Red tailed Black Cockatoos. Friendly farm dog and some sheep in paddock closer to the house.

Weekend Trip to Amber Ridge Estate

We loved this camping spot! Valley vista, was beautiful and no other caravan in site! Beautiful woodlands behind to go for a walk too. Went to Oakway winery for excellent wine, views and pizza! Only 5kms away. Nearby Donnybrook is lovely too for a wander. Loved the beautiful farm fresh eggs with our Brekky! Would definitely recommend this peaceful haven 10/10.

Jarvis Estate is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We had a complimentary wine tasting while there and the fire pits and timber were very appreciated. Close to Margaret River town and the cattle are a lovely sight to wake up to each day.

I really enjoyed camping at Dunmore homestead with my dog. It is a lovely tucked away part of the SW and very green at this time of year. We had site #4 which is fully fenced with a grassed area and some bushland behind. Plenty of room to move around and kick a ball with my dog. It was great to be able to have her off lead in this space so I could set up etc. Lovely big fire pit provided to keep warm. We were greeted at our fence by a large group of friendly and curious cows 😆 My dog made friends with them after overcoming her fear and it was lovely to watch. We went on lots of walks around the property which are well signposted. Good idea to include fly screens etc in your kit as with cows come flies. This didn’t spoil out stay however and I really hope to return to this lovely spot!

Weekend Trip to Stargazers Forest Hideaway

Another great Hipcamp to stay at, excellent scenery and local wildlife in the area. The grounds were well kept and was handy having the ensuite right next to us. Easy access in and out and sites were spacious and well designed. We met Derrick onsite and was very accomodating and friendly. We have a friends wedding towards the end of the year down this way so we are excited to revisit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosa Glenn, Matt and Kerry were very welcoming and the property was great with open camp areas well spaced and very quiet, surrounded by vine yards and outlook to dam. Enjoyed the night sky’s and brilliant stars.

Rustic shabby chic vibes at Mary's. The cabins are well spaced apart to guarantee privacy so that sitting on the porch of the cabins feeding the chooks and viewing native flora and fauna is most enjoyable. Planning on returning again.xx

Weekend Trip to Dunmore Homestead Farmstay

What a great place. Big sites with privacy. Stunning views. We arrived in the dark but easily found our site thanks to clearly marked roads on the property as well as the map we received from host Kristy. She also came by the next day to check in on us and welcome us. Water and firewood at each site. Nice hiking trails too. The dump point and waste point on the property is very convenient. And the price is reasonable too. We will be back.

When to go

The Margaret River region's relatively mild climate makes it a pleasure to visit any time of year, though winter (June through August) can be chilly and wet. Summer (December through February) brings pleasantly warm-to-hot days that are best for enjoying the beaches and surfing, while the crisp days of spring (September through November) are ideal for viewing the colorful wildflowers that bloom around the area. The region has the longest whale-watching season in Australia. You can spot migrating humpback, southern right, and occasional blue whales from June through August in Flinders Bay, Augusta, and from September to early December in Geographe Bay, Busselton.

Know before you go

There are limited local bus services between Margaret River, Augusta, and Busselton: Renting a car is the most convenient way to travel.
As a major tourist center, you’ll find plenty of places to stock up on supplies in Margaret River.
Entry fees apply at many parks in Western Australia. An annual park pass can save you money if you plan to visit a few.
As the region is often busy with tourists, especially in summer, it’s a good idea to make reservations in advance.
