The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres .
We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats.
As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals.
Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...)
Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too.
As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax.
We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-)
We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here.
The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops)
We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens).
You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. ( they can behave unpredictable, are very large (!) and very valuable)
Our dogs are very friendly and will most probably visit you. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-)
Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you.
There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash.
Dogs are not to sleep on the beds.
We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals.
Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...)

There is also the rail trail which follows the old railway line all the way to Boolarra and the Morwell River Falls a short drive from Boolarra
The Naracan falls is on the way to Thorpedale
Head for the hills to Walhalla old mining town and steam train rides
Willow grove and the Blue Rock Dam makes for a pretty drive to north in the hills
You are only 45 min drive to the coast of Inverloch and Tarwin Lower Waratah Wineries....
and follow the South Gippsland highway all the way to the very pretty towns of the Meeniyan, Foster, Toora, Agnus Water Falls, Port Welshpool,
historic Port Albert, Yarram, Woodside and the ninety mile beach,

The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres .
We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats.
As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals.
Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...)
Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too.
As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax.
We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-)
We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here.
The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops)
We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens).
You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. ( they can behave unpredictable, are very large (!) and very valuable)
Our dogs are very friendly and will most probably visit you. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-)
Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you.
There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash.
Dogs are not to sleep on the beds.
We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals.
Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...)
But- of course- if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, we will do our best to do so!

Beautiful place to stay close to Inverloch. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating of us arriving late, and our dog loved staying in the paddock. Clean toilet and warm shower were much appreciated as well!

We stayed on a powered site with our 12 man tent. The site was great with close proximity to showers and toilets.
The water park is amazing for the little kids and for the dads wanting to be big kids (obviously only to ensure the little ones were safe). The skate park and mini golf is great too.
Kitchen is big enough to cater all and a great place to shelter when the weather takes a turn.
During our stay, there was a weather warning with strong winds. Unfortunately our tent suffered and collapsed during a 60-70kph gust at 9pm.
I started to pack up the tent in the dark as we couldn't stay with our 4y old.
My partner called the emergency number to see if any cabins were available and the staff were amazing! They ran around and organised for a place to stay. This was a massive relief for the little one who managed to sleep safe and sound for the night.

Very clean and safe place to camp with kids or for someone who wants to feel like they are camping but not have the suburban feel of a caravan park. Beautiful gardens and such a gorgeous part of the world. Host is welcoming yet gives you space. Respectful fellow campers. Was great, will return.

We loved camping at Milleara Gardens! It was a nice large, secure area, family friendly, with access to water. Toilet and shower was also available for an extra fee. Helen was lovely and greeted us upon arrival and checked in with us during our stay. We were part of a large group (3 bookings, 15 adults and 12 kids, with plenty of space for a long weekend. The stars at night out there were beautiful!

3 nights at Buffalo Heights
We stayed in Henry the house bus which was quite roomy with space to sit and a comfy bed with a mosquito net to keep out the mozzies.
As Meg's land is high up the hill behind Buffalo, there are great views to the east. We enjoyed having a fire in the evening looking at the stars.

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Great communication and always quick to reply, we appreciated the heads up about the weather for the weekend. Meg hooked us up with a cozy spot in the hillside, well protected from the wind, which was greatly appreciated also. Communal kitchen was well stocked and drop dunny clean and odour free. Meg was an excellent host and we are grateful for her hospitality :) Thankyou !

I have just returned from spending two peaceful nights tent camping at Milleara Gardens. From the moment I arrived I could see that it would be a great stay. The gardens are kept immaculately and the camping areas are well-signed, neatly mowed and there's plenty of space. The owner, Helen, swung by to say hello a few minutes after I arrived and we had a good chat about the terrible bushfires affecting much of Victoria. Although I came prepared to be fully self-contained, Helen offered the use of a porta-loo for a small additional charge, which I gladly accepted. I highly recommend Milleara Gardens and will definitely be making a return visit in the near future.

We loved our stay at Clancy Springs - Adrian and Sandy are lovely and welcoming hosts. Clancy Springs is camping made easy, which we thoroughly appreciated with two little ones. The camp kitchen is incredibly well equiped and the toilet and shower were always in impeccable condition. We loved dining with the cows and kangaroos at meal times (in the next door paddock!)

Where to go
Summerlands
On the southwestern tip of Phillip Island, Summerlands is home to the island’s main attraction, the Penguin Parade. The natural spectacle of tens of thousands of penguins emerging from the ocean and waddling toward their nests takes place just after sunset every evening. Nearby you’ll find Nobbies Centre, outside of which you can see fur seals and birds, then learn about them through interactive displays. As Summerlands is a protected area, you’ll need to set up camp a little farther away. Nevertheless, you’ll find camping areas within a 10-minute drive.
Ventnor
In the small town of Ventnor, just a five-minute drive from the Penguin Parade, camping options include upscale glamping near Berry’s Beach and rural settings near Ventnor Beach.
Cowes
As the island’s main township, Cowes is home to several accommodation options, including camping areas. Your choices include family-friendly holiday parks with access to both the beach and nearby shops and restaurants.
Newhaven
In the southeast of the island, minutes from San Remo, Newhaven is home to caravan parks set upon sand dunes. Some parks feature powered caravan sites and non-powered camping grounds, plus comforts such as wifi and family playgrounds.
