Licola is a small and attractive village beside the Macalister River, 254 kilometers east of Melbourne. Licola is a great place to use as a base camp for you to 4wd, Hike, Mountain bike, motorbike and canoeing in high country. We offer accommodation in the form of Houses that consist of 3 to 4 bedrooms all with kitchenette, toilets and showers. Each house can sleep from 18 to 20 people in bunk style accommodation. With access to the pool and River to Lauch your canoe it is a perfect place for summer fun. All houses have split system air conditioning and heating. We also have a communal large self cater kitchen and large communal BBQ area. It is the only privately owned town in Victoria and the only one not on mains power. The town generates its own power, pumps and treats its own water and is also responsible for its waste management.
The Licola Wilderness Village is supported by the Lions Clubs of Victoria and southern New South Wales. Fantastic location, clean facilities, no issues with noise or anything else tbh. The views of the night sky from the beachfront on the campsite are breathtaking.
Really close to the national park and there is so much to do there great quiet location to come back and relax after big days exploring, lastly staff are really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area which is always very welcoming.

The lake site was great with a couple of boats to use for a bit of fun. Check in was easy and the coffee was good too. I would definitely recommend Frank’s farm.

We stayed on a powered site with our 12 man tent. The site was great with close proximity to showers and toilets.
The water park is amazing for the little kids and for the dads wanting to be big kids (obviously only to ensure the little ones were safe). The skate park and mini golf is great too.
Kitchen is big enough to cater all and a great place to shelter when the weather takes a turn.
During our stay, there was a weather warning with strong winds. Unfortunately our tent suffered and collapsed during a 60-70kph gust at 9pm.
I started to pack up the tent in the dark as we couldn't stay with our 4y old.
My partner called the emergency number to see if any cabins were available and the staff were amazing! They ran around and organised for a place to stay. This was a massive relief for the little one who managed to sleep safe and sound for the night.

Site 16 at Frank’s Farm was a wonderful place to stay the long weekend at! The view was spectacular at every glance and the grounds were well kept with a firepit ready to go. Stephen and Cherry were very good hosts, very responsive and very responsible. I especially appreciated that they both took the time and effort to do a round of the campsite around 10pm to check in and make sure everyone’s fire was safe amidst the warmer daytime weather. The option of the portaloos nearby for a small fee was a good choice to have. The farm overall is just the right balance between personal privacy of your own and neighbouring sites! Would highly recommend Frank’s Farm and will definitely be back again to try another site on a different side of the farm!

We stayed at Frank’s Farm for one night and absolutely loved it. Super friendly hosts, easy to find, and an amazing site with plenty of space. The views are beautiful and there’s a real sense of freedom. Hard to believe you’re this close to Melbourne. Highly recommend.

It was a nice camp. We were site 1 and we enjoyed the view of the dam/lake and played on the boats and paddle boat there.
It was well maintained with fire pits provided. Which we chose not to use due to the very windy conditions.
Our hosts were welcoming.
Only slightly negative things but not huge.
You can hear some highway noise and train noise, not constantly though.
As it was very open I imagine it would be very hot if you didn’t have adequate shelter.
We would stay again, the location was good for us.

We loved our stay at Clancy Springs - Adrian and Sandy are lovely and welcoming hosts. Clancy Springs is camping made easy, which we thoroughly appreciated with two little ones. The camp kitchen is incredibly well equiped and the toilet and shower were always in impeccable condition. We loved dining with the cows and kangaroos at meal times (in the next door paddock!)
