Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. The local beach is iconic for surfing and swimming, the local creek is a favourite at the inlet for young kids to swim or for canoeists to have somewhere quiet to paddle. Mountain biking is a must in the area, with thousands of tracks available right outside the back door.
If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item!
The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land.
The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne.
No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you.
I also have an option to add a pottery class for you, the cost is $50 a person for a two hour session.

We are the perfect spot for your trip to the Otways and great ocean road. We are only a few short minutes from Otways and short trip to coastal towns. You can enjoy a day in the Otways or great ocean road and come back to your secured camp spot on our farm.
You will also get to experience farm life up close. Meet the animals or just relax and enjoy the space. We have 40 acres for you to wander around and enjoy. Collect the eggs or pat the donkeys, Meet the cows and guinea fowl, or enjoy a campfire (weather and Fire Danger period permitting). All our paddocks are treed, providing shelter to visitors and animals. We now have our gypsy van for the adventurous. Most importantly we know how important it is to provide adequate space between campers so you will not be crammed in - our promise to you.
Visitors are more than welcome to bring the kids bikes to ride around on. You may like to bring the kite or outdoor games, however we do not allow motor activities that may disturb the animals.
There is Barwon Park Mansion, owned by the National Trust nearby that you can take a peek through or enjoy the river walks in the town center, less than 2km away. Shops, including a supermarket, are in town if you forgot something. There are also some collectable shops you can visit.
If you are trying to book and have difficulties, try instant booking.
Guests must be fully self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.

The deck overlooks a large backyard that extends to the hills and dam. Relax on the refurbished lounge in the Balinese gazebo, where you can watch ducks wander by and listen to native birds nesting in the trees. A fire pit and seating area make for enjoyable nights outdoors when the weather permits. Please note, the fire pit is not available during summer or when fire bans are in place.
Guests have exclusive access to the entire house. We provide doonas, pillows, hand towels, and tea towels. Please let us know how many beds you require so we can prepare them accordingly.
We are dog-friendly, and with the fully fenced yard, you can bring your pet along for the holiday! Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your pet.

We are the perfect spot for your trip to the Otways and great ocean road. We are only a few short minutes from Otways and short trip to coastal towns. You can enjoy a day in the Otways or great ocean road and come back to your secured camp spot on our farm.
You will also get to experience farm life up close. Meet the animals or just relax and enjoy the space. We have 40 acres for you to wander around and enjoy. Collect the eggs or pat the donkeys, Meet the cows and guinea fowl, or enjoy a campfire (weather and Fire Danger period permitting). All our paddocks are treed, providing shelter to visitors and animals. We now have our gypsy van for the adventurous. Most importantly we know how important it is to provide adequate space between campers so you will not be crammed in - our promise to you.
Visitors are more than welcome to bring the kids bikes to ride around on. You may like to bring the kite or outdoor games, however we do not allow motor activities that may disturb the animals.
There is Barwon Park Mansion, owned by the National Trust nearby that you can take a peek through or enjoy the river walks in the town center, less than 2km away. Shops, including a supermarket, are in town if you forgot something. There are also some collectable shops you can visit.
If you are trying to book and have difficulties, try instant booking.
Guests must be fully self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.

A fire pit and seating area make for enjoyable nights outdoors when the weather permits. Please note, the fire pit is not available during summer or when fire bans are in place.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sommerleigh! Gorgeous location that had everything we needed, nestled in nature and surrounded by so many birds. It felt intimate and private, perfect for a romantic weekend away. The wood stove was absolutely divine and rainy weather was no problem because it was so cosy rugged up indoors by the fire watching the rain through the big windows and hearing the rain on the tin roof.

We’re a family of four that spent three nights in a pod. This is such a lovely location close to nature - the absolute highlight was seeing several koalas ( and joeys) up close, a kookaburra and waking up to birdsong amongst majestic eucalypts. A great recharge only 3hr drive from Melbourne. Didn’t get to use all the amenities, just the bathrooms and they were clean and the showers hot.

With 158 different bird species, set amongst the wetlands, there is a theatre of wildlife only 90 minutes from Melbourne.
The room is well appointed and many finer details often overlooked on your more tradition accommodation.
Everything you need is provided, just remember to read the notes before hand as we failed to do, ie bring ice for the provided esky.

Weekend Trip to Sommerleigh
My partner and I adored our weekend in this little slice of paradise! Tucked away on a tiny island in the middle of a billabong on Jeff's vineyard, it was pure peace. We were the only ones on the island, aside from many different birds. We loved waking up to their songs, and the sound of rain on the tin roof. No traffic, no other people, just nature and a beautifully quirky bushland garden dotted with old treasures.
The setup was simple but magical, very clean and well maintained: two cosy tin shacks (bedroom and kitchen) plus a small loo shack with a flushing toilet! The bedroom was warm and snug with a fireplace and comfy double bed. BYO bedding.
No mains power or fridge, so bring ice for the cooler and a battery pack to charge devices, though we barely touched our phones. The outdoor showers (one next to the bedroom, and one behind the kitchen) were surprisingly lovely, even in the rain, thanks to hot gas-heated water.
Jeff was a friendly, funny, and accommodating host who welcomed us warmly even though we arrived a little late and in the dark.
Bring a torch, hot water bottle, and warm layers in winter. Notes on accessibility: You'll need to carry all your belongings from the car over a narrow pier and gravel path, a 1-2 minute walk total, which is very doable if you're able-bodied, and Jeff said he can offer a wheelbarrow to help.
A peaceful, grounding spot, perfect for bird watchers, nature lovers, and anyone wanting to truly switch off. We’ll definitely be back.
