We would definitely recommend Clara and Caleb's place for camping. It is very serene and offers many amenities such as compostable toilet, disposal bins, water and electricity supply. It is a great camping set up. You will definitely have the best sleep under the stars.

Really enjoyed our stay at Clara and Caleb’s hipcamp. Was very spacious for the 2 couples and the doggie 🐶 The compost toilet was super clean! The sourdough and eggs were delicious, definitely recommend adding them onto the stay. Caleb was fantastic at helping with anything extra we needed, very accommodating hosts!

The site was beautifully maintained, and the waterless toilet was impressively clean — even cleaner than most department store bathrooms, and completely odourless! Our pups had a blast running freely around the site. Although dogs aren’t allowed in the national park next door, we still enjoyed being surrounded by nature and exploring the area with them. If you stay here, don’t miss out on ordering the bread and eggs — the homemade bread was absolutely delicious, and the eggs were incredibly fresh! It does get cold at night, but with the electricity hookups, we were nice and cozy with our electric blanket in the tent. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Trevean Homestead

Great location—easy to find and conveniently close to Broadford. The signal at the campsite was surprisingly strong, which was a plus. Even though it’s near the Hume, the area was quiet. We had a lovely night enjoying the campfire and stargazing—such a peaceful experience. We left early the next morning to catch the sunrise, which made the whole trip even more special.

Although we didn't get to meet Steve, he has a lovely well kept property with lots of level places to pitch a tent or position your caravan. Really enjoyed our quiet and relaxed stay with everything you need all close by. There is power and water available at the shed, but it may be necessary to bring your own extension lead and hose with adapters.

We loved our first tent camping experience with our 1 year old, the site was secure and enclosed which was great with a roaming baby and pets, water and power were available, if you need a shower youll need to bring your own powered one otherwise at East Beach Geelong the public showers are heated until 10am. Daisy was really nice and accomodating to any of our requests. We were able to have a fire pit using our own wood, and for 3 nights we only needed 8 logs. The pool wasnt accessible to swimming at this time of year as the weather didnt permit. The area was quiet, serene and other guests we met were really lovely. This spot is 25 minutes from Barwon heads and its beaches, which is one of our favourite areas and your not too far from shops and the esplanade if you feel like being social. We will be coming back again.

Stayed during the Easter long weekend. I loved the place n the host Grace was friendly n helpful. Learned quite a lot about horses 🐎 at her ranch. Clean toilets n shower giving you the comforts you need. There were about 14 campers in the campsite, but you had the privacy given that camping area is huge n had quite a distance from each other. Attended the Easter bf as well. Yea is only 15 km drive, n drove down to Broadford motor cycle track, to watch a track day.

4 nights at Wildcroft an Escape to the Country

We loved camping at Grace's place. She is a lovely host, checking on us everyday, we went during Easter and we had some activities such as deer walk and breakfast. And in the end, she organized a trip to the top of the mountains in her property and the view was amazing. There is bathroom and hot showers. The campsite was great to see wildlife such as kangaroos, birds, deers and a part of the horses and livestock she raises. Only recommendation: bring your own potable water

Awesome little spot tucked behind the dam and nestled between the blackberrys on the seasonal creek. The puppy would come visit each morning to hang out with the kids. Lovely little walk around the property visiting the sheep and alpaca neighbours. Felt very welcomed on arrival.

Camping at Grace’s land was a fantastic experience. The surrounding hills are amazing and there was such a nice atmosphere. Grace gave us a great weekend with a range of different experiences. From the deer spotting and meeting the gorgeous Friesian Pinto horses. We loved the Easter breakfast and the sunset four wheel drive trip. We will definitely be back. Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. Trickle Hill Cottage

Trickle Hill is a lovely cottage tucked away at the edge of our bush. You have your own little patio, and can go for adventurous walks straight from your living room ! We are close to Dandenong ranges, Yarra valley, Bunyip state park, and Puffing Billy. We are just behind Avalon castle- so great if you are attending a wedding We welcome couples, solo adventurers and families. We are of course LGBTI+ friendly! Dogs are very welcome. The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres . We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats. As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals. Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...) Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too. As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax. We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-) We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here. The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops) We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens). You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-) Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you. There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash. Dogs are not to sleep on the beds. We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals. Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...) But- of course- if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, we will do our best to do so!
