Just a short turn off from the Great Eastern Drive between Triabunna and Swansea, with easy access to Maria Island and Freycinet National Park, Kanyini Camp is a beautiful and serene piece of land backing on Butlers Ridge Nature reserve with sweeping country views. We are one of only a few farms on a no through road and offer a unique experience of peace and serenity while being close to some of the major attractions the East Coast of Tasmania has to offer. We are located only a 10 minutes drive to one of the most beautiful (secret) beaches in Tasmania and 15 minutes drive to Triabunna where the ferry departs for Maria Island. We live on site (a few acres away across the rivulet) and are delighted to offer 12 opportunities for self-contained campers to camp on our private land and share our passion for the area. This is a leave no trace property that suits self-contained campers who bring everything they need and remove everything they bring. Well behaved dogs and humans are all welcome. We are farmers and this property is where we live and work. Please respect our requirement for self-contained campers only. This includes caravans and campervans with toilets on board. Welcome to The Bush Circus. This is where I love to play and I welcome you here. All the deets you may need are listed here so read careful. Of course you can contact me if you can't work something out. You arrive here at the bottom corner of the property on Slab Rd where there is a place to park cars around several large gum trees. There is a very short walk through bush on manicured trails to one of three dedicated camp sites all of which is sign posted. There is also one RV spot at the car park. Toilet is located within a short walk from each campsite. All sights are reasonably flat and they all have a campfire. Please feel free to pick up twigs and breakable sticks to create a fire. If you want firewood it is $1 per piece and you can put this into the tin at where the firewood is collected. RV Spot- This is marked out as a section on the car park area. There may be some other cars near you but these are for the campers. Holy Tree Camp- The first sign takes you to this camp. You will see the tree with the burnt out base. Suitable for a small to medium tent. Tall Tree Camp- Second sign leads to here. It is adjacent to the tallest tree on the property. Small to medium tent. Octopus Tree Camp- Look up. You will see how it gets its name. Small to medium tent. This is a small property and if you get lost just follow the tracks you will find the camp you have booked. There are two toilets. Toilet one is for number 2's and toilet 2 is for number 1's. Just to make it confusing. All signposted but message me if you can't work it out. The circus area is not available for campers. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

The Little Garden Farm is a small farm with a private and exclusive Campsite - The Woodlander. The Little Garden Farm is a 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we began improving in 2023. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter. The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please). The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River,  This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Instead, we'd recommend bringing a small portable bbq with you to set up by the river! You're welcome to bring pets too.

Badgers Flats is a seven acres property surrounded by big trees and edged by a beautiful mountain river. There are four campsites available and two cabins. Its off grid. Some solar is provided and some internet access. I'm just starting out so it may be bumpy. Its very close to some spectacular walks. Some incredible old growth forest home to some of the worlds largest trees. There are also alpine lakes for more adventurous campers.

A beautiful private spot, ringed by trees and a creek, opposite stunning Adventure Bay, and with a berry and fruit orchard to wander in, this lovely site is well worth the wait for the ferry to Bruny. One of the best hipcamps we have stayed in. Kathryn and Alex and the dogs were friendly and welcoming and Kathryn very kindly gave us some homemade berry jam. Highly recommend Watering Place at Woodleigh. Thanks again

He told us the local tips on where to visit and where and even treated our boys to a ride on his tractor. Couldn’t recommend enough! Will be back

Woodleigh was just perfect! Nestled amongst the lush gardens by the little creek, a bountiful orchard of berries to enjoy at our leisure and the sounds of the waves crashing at the historical Two Tree Point beach - we felt as though we had landed in heaven. Kathryn and Alex were so warm and welcoming and even gave us a lovely jar of homemade jam to enjoy with instructions where to find the local sourdough bread stall. Adventure Bay was a wonderful base to explore South Bruny and we were able to see so many incredible sights whilst there for the 2 nights. We can highly recommend Woodleigh and hope to return again one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Rob and Lisa's property who were the most amazing hosts. The kids enjoyed meeting new friends at the trampoline and there is water available to fill your tanks. With IGA and coffee shop close to camp and the city only 25 mins away, this location is a perfect when basing yourself around Hobart!

Great location to use as a base to explore Hobart and the area. You are literally on a small paddock alongside a fairly busy road with mostly grass and well maintained. The road traffic did ease off after 9pm but by 6.30am the trucks are back up and down the road. It’s a well used road. Fully fenced area so both kids and dogs are safe. Large trampoline for the kids and fire pits. Rob is a super host and very welcoming. Thanks for having us.

Weekend Trip to Eventide Sanctuary

Eventide is a quiet, natural terrain property with lovely views and a nice vibe. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night camp in our swags. It was relaxing to just sit back and watch the animals roam the property doing their thing, with some stopping by our camp to say g'day. The farm tour was great with Ian taking us around the property in his buggy whilst sharing his vast knowledge of the animals and allowing us to give them a snack and a scratch. We will be back again.

Kathryn and Alex’s property is even more beautiful and peaceful than the pictures convey. The spot was perfect for us, very quiet, plenty of birds annd wallabies about, a babbling brook, and across the road from the beach with easy enough access to get to town. Kathryn and Alex are very welcoming hosts and even helped us get our vehicle out of a bit of bother. Will be sharing and recommending this great find with family and friends.

This place is a must when passing through the area or exploring Mt Field national park and Gorden dam. Derek is a tremendous host , full of information on the area and Tasmania in general. We had as much free fire wood as we wanted, water available and a beautiful grassed area over looking the Derwent river. If you like wine, grab a bottle or two of Derek’s reds he makes on the property, and for a hot tip ask him to give you a tour of his vineyard. Thank you Derek for a wonderful 5 night stay. Hopefully we will be back in a few weeks.

Welcome to The Salty Goat Farm. We are a small family run farm situated on the picturesque D'Encastreau Channel just 45 minutes south of Hobart. With the Bruny Island ferry 20 mins north and the lovely township of Cygnet only half an hour south. 200 meters down the road is a boat ramp and jetty, perfect for fishing and accessing the Channel for those with a boat, Bruny being only a short boat ride away. If you have a larger group there is also a camp ground 5 min walk down the road. The local shop is a handy 5 min drive away which sells everything from local beer and wine to everyday items as well as petrol and post office. We offer a fully self contained two bedroom cabin which runs on stand alone solar, has gas heating and oven, a bathroom with shower and composting toilet and parking at the door. At the rear is access to the paddock where your welcome to play with our friendly goats. At night all the native animals come out to play, the pademelons, quolls and even the albino possum! If your really patient and leave out a scrap or two you might be lucky to see the resident devil too.
