We live on a 3 acre farm with some beautiful views of Hartz view mountain in the lovely quiet Huon valley about 6 mins drive to the township of Cygnet, and 15mins to Kettering, were you can catch the ferry over to Bruny island.
We grow alot of our own fruits and veggies which you will get opportunity to see and taste when camping on our property.
We have a large fire pit, and a little private one, that you’re welcome to enjoy for cooking, or just for relaxing. We can provide fire wood for an additional fee.

Some solar is provided and some internet access. I'm just starting out so it may be bumpy. Its very close to some spectacular walks. Some incredible old growth forest home to some of the worlds largest trees. There are also alpine lakes for more adventurous campers.

With sheep, chicken, ducks, and of course a Lazy Lab, there are plenty of animals for guests to meet and greet.
Camping at Lazy Lab has a great view of the Derwent River and is on a gentle slope.
Campers will have access to fresh mains water. A fire pot is provided.
All campers must be self-contained as we don't offer toilet facilities, so please bring your own camp toilet.

Excellent campsite. Scenic, lush forest surrounding. Peaceful setting.
Grant was a wonderful friendly host. Very helpful, but also gave us our privacy.
Close to Bruny Island ferry for a day trip.
Would definitely recommend this site.

Grant was a fantastic host, from the moment we arrived until we left he was accommodating and nothing was too much. The site was exactly as described and was what we needed for our 5 nights away for a quick get away with the kids. We loved the setting of a peaceful valley close to Cygnet. Grant is a very kind and helpful host. The basket of goodies we purchased from Grant was great, loved the bread, home made jam and fruits. The site was nice and level with lovely grass. Having power was a welcome addition.

We have loved our stay at The Lazy Lab.
This is the perfect camp to base yourself as you explore the area and surrounds.
Located only 30mins from the CBD of Hobart, very easy to get to. New Norfolk is only 10 mins away, which has all your shopping needs.
Ben and Loren have been amazing hosts, super friendly and responds to any of our needs. This is a great camp if you have kids, there is loads of room for them to play, go and see the animals, ride their bike and they even have a little swing set. The yard is fully enclosed.
The site is nice and level with access to fill with water when we need. Beautiful and quiet and very safe and secure. We even left our van here for 2 days while we raced over the mountains to Strahan for the weekend.
While staying here, we visited Bruny Island, Hastings Springs and Caves & Hobart.
Ben and Loren were very accommodating when we needed to extend our stay last minute.

We chose to stay here to visit family in Cygnet. So glad we did as it was lovely, so peaceful and Grant and his family fantastic friendly hosts. We accepted their offer of a basket of home grown vegetables and fruit and it was delicious. A very nice personal touch we thought. We will be travelling to Bruny Island in the coming weeks and will probably stay here again for another couple of nights as they are situated not far from the ferry. We would highly recommend this camp site. Book and stay you won’t be disappointed.

We had a fantastic overnight stop at Grants place. Nothing was too much trouble - he provided power and water and we were able to purchase a fantastic basket of home grown produce with the best tomatoes we have ever tasted. Grant is very passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to growing veggies and we were lucky enough to have a mini tour and learn so much. 🥕

Misty mountain was a fantastic place to stay while enjoying the surrounding area. Lovely grassy level piece of land to camp on and Grant was an extremely friendly host who showed us around his beautiful and bountiful garden. We bought some lovely fresh veggies, eggs and bread from Grant and enjoyed them for breakfast. We would highly recommend Misty Mountain if you’re looking for somewhere to camp in this region.
