Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock.There are horses, Dallas the mule (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the dam, as well as our ducks and geese if they are out of their enclosure that day. There are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it!We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too.Dallas, our mule is always up for a bit of attention and any apples or carrots you might like to share with him.Dallas is rather special as his dad is a "mammoth donkey" who has been imported from America. His mum is a stunning thoroughbred. Mammoth donkeys are a bigger/taller breed of donkey than Australian donkeys are. They are beginning to be used up north on stations instead of horses as mules are sturdier, more sure footed, not as flighty as horses so safer for stock men and women to use working with cattle. They can live into their late 30,s so have a longer working life as well. Dallas was born in 2023Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season.The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet.It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails.Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property.Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away.Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat.We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options!Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works.Like to kayak? Well a short drive will take you to spectacular opportunities to do so. Hire is also available at the site at different times of the year.Love exploring by bike? You are at the heartland of multiple trails you can access too. NO MOTORBIKES OR 4x4 TRACKS ON THIS PROPERTY Ruff Run Camping is situated 15km east of Robertstown, 1.5 hours from Adelaide, on a rustic bush block. Escape to a true bush experience at our campsite, where nature surrounds you with simplicity and space. Set among native scrub, the site offers the authentic sounds of bird calls drifting through the trees and the gentle presence of sheep grazing nearby. From camp, you can take in wide, open views across rolling hills and distant ridgelines, accompanied by the dry creeks which make a great setting for a lovely stroll creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. Whether you’re after a quiet spot to relax or a place to explore the outdoors, this campsite provides a genuine bush setting with plenty of room to unwind under the star filled open sky. It has plenty to offer with very secluded sites with maximum privacy. All sites are equipped with a very generous camping area, ideal for bigger groups. Preferably suited to off-road caravans and campers but still accessible by an everyday vehicle. Ruff Run Camping is for self contained units or feel free to use natures toilet! Please take great respect in our lovely land and leave the site as; or better then you found it. Please take all rubbish with you Important Information to know before booking: ALL GUESTS/VISITORS MUST BE BOOKED IN BEFORE ENTERING OUR PROPERTY Check-in must be before 8pm. If you are unable to arrive before 8pm, please book for the following day instead. Plenty of fallen timber around you are welcome to collect for firewood, however, strictly no chainsaws or cutting down of trees, you are more then welcome to bring your own firewood with you. Strictly no motorbikes, firearms, rally driving, or rock climbing on the property. Pets are allowed, as long as they are controlled on a leash as there is livestock nearby

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your beautiful place! We had such a lovely weekend short, but really special and relaxing. It was so peaceful waking up to the sheep wandering by in the mornings, and we absolutely adored the friendly little dog who came to play catch. Those small moments made our stay feel so warm and homely. Everything about the place was perfect clean, comfortable, and full of charm. We’re so grateful for the experience and would love to come back again one day!

What a wonderful place to stay during our (all too short!) visit to the Barossa. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed. Belinda was absolutely delightful — friendly, helpful, and full of great local tips for places to visit, eat, and explore. The accommodation itself was peaceful and beautifully set among the vines — we had the whole vineyard to ourselves, which made it feel extra special. 😀 Sitting outside with a glass of wine, surrounded by the scenery, was such a highlight. We couldn’t resist purchasing some of the vineyard’s wine to enjoy once we’re back home — a lovely reminder of our stay. Highly recommend The Cutting , so much better than staying in a caravan park! Cheers! 🍷🍇

Lovely area, so many visiting farm animals! We ended up staying at the site next to the dam, as recommended by the host due to the wind and being able to use a fire. There was a lovely fire pit, and table and chairs there for us to use. And plenty of kindling stacked up for us. The host was great with quick communication.

For vineyard camping, it really doesn’t get any better. The site was completely private, except for the occasional welcome visit from a kangaroo or two, with 360-degree vineyard views and a stunning drive in. Daniel, the host, was incredibly helpful, offering great local recommendations and impeccable communication. 10/10 recommend 🍷

Really liked this place, we had site 4, near the house, top of the hill looking over the valley. A bit of a slope but no issues at all, quiet, easy to get in and out, had a fire. Would definitely recommend

I absolutely loved camping at the plateau. Its such a beautiful serene place. Fantastic for the rugged style camping. The views are spectacular and Jarrod is such a fantastic host. Make sure you have a strong sturdy tent, I recommend a dome tent as the winds can get intense sometimes as your very high up. This style of camping is for experienced campers. I loved every part of it and I will definitely be going up there regularly.
