Downhill Run Camping is located due west of Robertstown at the peak of the hills, a beautiful spot for caravans, campers, tents and swags. Spanning 50 acres the campsite offers breath taking views of the entire valley and is located directly on the lavender walking trail. There is a shared basic long drop toilet located near the south site but feel free to bring self contained units or find a nice tree! The campsites are located at the top of the hills in a pasture paddock so please make sure your dogs are on leashes at all times. The 2 sites are separated by a fair distance so there is plenty of room to enjoy for everyone even with large groups. A perfect spot to pitch a tent and admire the beautiful starry nights on the secluded hilltop The Clare and Barossa Valleys are only a short 45 minute drive away if you’re interested in a day out at the wineries. Or the lovely historic town of Burra is a 30 minute drive. The campsite is also conveniently located on the lavender trail which provides great scenery walks or cycles taking in the amazing view. There is a great Pub located in Robertstown which has cold beer and meals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights if you are looking to get out of cooking for the night. The post office is also a great spot to duck in for a coffee and a chat to the locals. Set behind the beautiful Mt Lofty Ranges in the Adelaide Hills and only 20 minutes from the city. Our farm has a Bernese Mountain Dog named Lotti, 6 ducks, 4 chooks, and a cat named Alfie. Surrounded on one side by National Park and the other by vineyards and plenty of wineries. The next township is just a few minutes away and has all the necessary needs (pharmacy, GP, pub, general store). Within 10 minutes you can rock climb or go swimming in a fresh waterhole. It’s a beautiful part of the world.

I absolutely loved camping at the plateau. Its such a beautiful serene place. Fantastic for the rugged style camping. The views are spectacular and Jarrod is such a fantastic host. Make sure you have a strong sturdy tent, I recommend a dome tent as the winds can get intense sometimes as your very high up. This style of camping is for experienced campers. I loved every part of it and I will definitely be going up there regularly.

Gooses Pond is a lovely peaceful camp in a large paddock with spectacular views. Sites were well spaced, so quite private. There was a flushing toilet as well as an undercover area to use. Firewood is available to purchase and host Billie-Jo was so helpful and friendly.

The camp has incredible views, the site is flat so great for swags, a good size fire pit and even though the campsite is very open it is secluded . We had a couple of cars go past on the road from the the Southern camp but we couldn't see or hear them. It does pay to check weather forecast as it was unbelievably windy on day 2 and there is no escape from it on top of the hill. We used this day to drive the back rounds and see the counrty side and visit Eudunda and Robertstown. Both towns are pretty quiet but managed a beer at the Pub in Eudunda and had a picnic lunch in the little Park in Robertstown. We had our own porta potty and there was the perfect tree to position it behind. We took our own wood butToby , the host ,did leave us some for a cost of $30. We were able to use most of it but some logs a bit big so left it behind for the next campers....always good karma 😉 So even though we experienced 4seasons in 2 days ( it rained also 😅) we loved the camp site and highly recommend it. 😊

My wife and I came for a night away and were amazed by the huge open space! Was great to be able to see the hills, watch the helicopters come and go and even say hello to the cows. Great to see there was a functional toilet to use as we were camping in our swag (I would recommend maybe a light for inside the toilets when it’s dark). Great little shelter provided that we were lucky enough to use for the night to keep out the sun, as we just had our swag set up. Pet friendly was a bonus for us- the dog loved being able to adventure around! We’ll be back for sure, this place is a hidden gem. Thanks Billie-Jo!
